Welcome We have an exciting programme of entertainment at Middleton Arena and Heywood Civic Centre. Whether you enjoy rock, pop or soul music, we’ve got a range of music events for you to choose from. Join paranormal sensation Clinton Baptiste, the hapless clairvoyant, medium and psychic from Peter Kay’s smash hit Channel 4 TV show ‘Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights, as he takes you on a hilarious yet touching journey through his life. We also have NT Live broadcasts where world-class theatre is broadcast live to Middleton Arena. Though each broadcast is filmed in from of a live audience in the theatre, cameras are carefully positioned thorughout the auditorium to ensure that other venue audiences get the ‘best seat in the house’ view of each production. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Soul Train Harking back to the wonderful days when the dance floor was king, the show features a fun presentation of 60s and 70s soul classics. From the early days of Tamla Motown, Stax and Atlantic records through to the disco years and beyond. Featuring hit songs by Stevie Wonder, Isley Brothers, Supremes, Gladys Knight, Marvin Gaye, along with dance favourites of Donna Summer, Candi Staton, O Jays and many more great artists that still keep us singing and dancing. We all love a bit of guitar wielding in a song, it’s iconic, soulful and – oh what a beautiful instrument! An Evening with Peter Schmeichel 20 years after he captained Manchester United to an unprecedented treble, the legend is coming to Middleton Arena. This is your chance to meet the man in person, have a photograph with him and listen to his stories in a 70 minute interview and Q and A hosted by Ian Stringer. Peter Schmeichel MBE started his career in 1981, but it was 10 years later when he moved to Manchester United and promptly established himself as the world’s best goalkeeper winning the premier league 5 times, VENUE: Middleton Arena

by Richard Bean, based on 'The Servant of Two Masters' by Carlo Goldoni, with songs by Grant Olding A National Theatre production Encore Featuring a Tony Award-winning performance from host of the The Late Late Show, James Corden, the hilarious West End and Broadway hit One Man, Two Guvnors returns to cinemas to mark National Theatre Live’s 10th birthday. Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancée’s dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at The Cricketers’ Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.

A feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations… with hilarious, but dark consequences. Shakespeare’s most famous romantic comedy will be captured live from the Bridge Theatre in London. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Oliver Chris (Green Wing, NT Live: Young Marx), David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania, Oberon, Puck and Bottom. The Bridge Theatre will become a forest – a dream world of flying fairies, contagious fogs and moonlight revels, surrounded by a roving audience following the action.

Heywood Civic Centre is located in the middle of Heywood Town Centre. We are next to the Library and the Phoenix Centre and opposite the Magic Market. Heywood is approximately five minutes from the M62 (Junction 19) and M66 (Junction 3).
Middleton Arena is located two minutes from the town centre, bus station and additional pay and display car parking. By car, Middleton is approx five minutes from the M60 (Junction 19) and the M62 (Junction 19) and 15 minutes from Manchester City Centre.

Heywood Civic Centre is fully accessible to public areas with lift to the upper floor. Customers are invited to discuss any special needs in advance. There is free parking to the side of the building with designated disabled parking bays. Car Park access is via Hornby Street. Maximum three hour stay Monday to Friday 8am-6pm. No parking restrictions apply on Saturday or Sunday
