Knik Tribal Council Resources Employment and Training Department Assists participants in achieving self-sufficiency by helping them find meaningful and sustainable employment, job enhancements or certifications. Funds are awarded on a firstcome, first completed basis. The program is not intended to cover the full cost of training. Scholarships Knik offers scholarships for Knik Tribe members. Students can attend full or part-time. Completed applications need to be received by Aug. 15 for Fall Semester, and Dec. 19 for Spring Semester.
After School Program Are you interested in an after school program? If so, please email Geraldine Nicoli-Ayonayon at gnayonayon@kniktribe.org with your child's name, age, grade, transportation needs if any and potential craft/cultural/athletic activities.
Sports fee program This program is to assist parents with their child's after school sports activity/program. To be eligible students must be at least Âź AK Native/ American Indian and participating in the Report Card Program. Payments are made to the sports activity/program. Requirements: Documentation supporting the blood quantum, sports fee costs and the sports fee application.
Report card program This program was developed to encourage a student to achieve better grades in grade school. Due to the increase par-ticipation students have to be Âź AK Native/ American Indian. Students that are interested in our Sports Fee program must be an active participant in the program to be eligible for the sports fees. Participation throughout the school year is beneficial due to the program looking at the previous quarter's grade, determining the grade improvements. 1st time participants receive a $10 gift certificate to Target. Returning participants receive a $10 gift certificate, plus an additional $5 for every grade improvement per class. Students that participate in one quarter but miss the next and apply for the third will be considered as a new participant.
Transportation to medical appointments Knik Tribe provides limited transportation support to medical appointments at Valley Native Primary Care in Wasilla and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium campus in Anchorage. Call Roy at 354-7993 several days in advance of your appointment to give him notice of your need for transportation.
