1.1 Point/Line/Plane ON GROUND
The tectonic of point, line and plane lead us to have a journey which explores the relationship between three objects with different dimensions, how does point extend to line and how does the line expand to the plane.

PRECEDENTS POINT/LINE/PLANE
Suprematist Composition, 1922 Yakov Georgievich Chernikhov Chernikhov is famous for his geometry drawings .He encouraged people to express beauty and movement through playing with point, line, plane and solid. The drawing organically blend point, line and plane, and function of each element is defined by color.
6
This pavilion simply consists of columns and square block. Columns are lines and blocks are planes. Despite the perspective everything converge to the vanishing point, or it seems like everything start from the point. 7
CONCEPT AND DESIGN POINT/LINE/PLANE
Basic concept of the model is to create a place for people to lie, sit and stand. The rising chair are positioned closer and closer to the next one, and the transformed to a wall for the function of standing. The curves behind the bench and wall are designed for lying. The plane above provide the shelter. Whatever bench, shelter or place of lying, everything start off one point.

1.2 Mass BELOW GROUND
Through mass drawing, what I mean to express are experience of undiscovered, darkness and irregularity.

PRECEDENTS MASS
Neanderthal Museum Barozzi Veiga
I believe what makes below ground interesting is light. When darkness play with light, the negative and positive spaces are lively. In this museum, light shine on the wall, the texture obviously emerge. Also, the atmosphere created by heavy and chunk material is solid.

Centro Roberto Garza Sada de Arte Arquitectura y DiseĂąo Tadao Ando This photograph shows the outdoor area of Roberto Garza Sada Center for Arts, Architecture and Design (CRGS). Concrete manifests the connotation of solidity, heaviness and robustness. Also, the clear edge of concrete shows the coarse texture.
13
CONCEPT AND DESIGN MASS
This sectional drawing is finished by water color and charcoal. In this mass exercise, I sought to explore the relationship between light and darkness. How the light could interestingly influence the dark place. What kind of felling would people have here. Do the have a particular journey. Questions above are set for myself prior to starting drawing.
14
The crucial intent of my drawing is to create space with little light in. And area varies from narrow to wide. People may experience repression at the end while they are set to feel and feel bright with walking out. Additionally, space somewhere is quite short, so people may have to bend and walk. Black texture is main part of mass which simulate form of mountain. The middle platform at a lower elevation connect two cliffs through stairs. Variance in line weight illustrates the light variation.
SECTION 15
PLAN 16
CONCEPT AND DESIGN MASS This is a plan which portray the form of mass space. It seems hard to imagine what the space looks like. Actually it is a series of cave of regular form. And people experience walking from narrow space to a wide space and enjoy the trick of light.

1.3 Frame & Infill ABOVE GROUND
For this module, I decide to create a space filled with various functional area. More importantly, claiming it as above ground, which creates the illusion that they are floating. Frame represents the structure and infill creates useful space for activities.
18
19
PRECEDENTS FRAME & INFILL
Composition with Large Red Plane, Yellow, Black, Gray, and Blue Piet Mondrian,1921 Color of this abstract drawing id limited to five. The assorted blocks of color and lines of differing width create rhythms that ebb and flow across the surface of the canvas, echoing the varied rhythm of modern life. The composition is asymmetrical, as in all of his mature paintings, with one large dominant block of red, balanced by distribution of the smaller blocks of other colors around it. This guides me to define space through color.
20
PRECEDENTS FRAME & INFILL
House NA, Tokyo Sou Fujimoto, 2011 This house inspires me how to build a more organic form of eight bays instead of ordinary cubes. Columns with different heights go through the whole building, which is means of expressing frame, and physical space behind represents infill. Also, in order to show the above ground, lifting up ground floor is a good way.
21
22
CONCEPT AND DESIGN FRAME & INFILL To differ with the concept of on ground, above ground need to reduce contact with ground. So I try to make ground floor void except the access to upper floor. Distribution of color is regulated, red represents physical area for activities, yellow represents shelter and blue are desined as walkway. The walkway lead people to have a complete journey here, none of space would be missed.

2.0 CONCEPTACLE My conceptacle indicates combining main themes of three tectonics and attempt to explore secret in architecture. The combination was formed as a floating cube space following grid. Linear shelter leads to entrance of below ground space.

27
Tree Hotel, Sweden Tham & VidegĂĽrd Arkitekter, 2010 Mirrored glass is used for this tree hotel. The lightweight structure is hang up the tree. Glass reflect surrounding environment, creating a camouflaged refuge. It is impossible to view what inside is, while viewing out from the inner is undisguised, which help me understand how to express secrets. 28

3.1 SITE ANALYSIS Site I have chosen located southern-eastern corner of the island, and it just sits behind the landing that opposite to Como landing. It can be viewed directly from the surroundings, so that attracts people here to have a visit. The variation of height is steady, and noise is less than the northern area.
33
3.2 DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
I was inspired by iceberg interms of definition of secret, which demonstrate secret is not completely concealed or nobody know it. Secret is everything can discover part of it while nobody understand its enrireness. The fundamental form of space which sits on the ground followed the idea of MASS drawing, which I sought to creat a more interesting and organic shape of pavilion. This provide the function of shelter that families can hold activities there. Large cube room is occupied by store. Small cube is area for lying, the void in the middle is constrcuted with transparent glass, which let the sunlight in the basement. Colums go from top to bottom along with the whole structure.Glass walkway is suported by columns, whichattracts kids to have fun there. The space below ground is a large 3D stereo room, visitors can experience diverse sound of recordings by walking through the suspended bridge.

4.0 REFLECTION Through the whole semester, I've leanrt so many from earth studio in terms of design, concept sevelopment and some other skills. To be honest, it is tough, as I redo everything, every single object. What impressed me is 'you don't need to have very amazing idea and design, you only need to finish the project with clear concept', said by a guest tutor at final presentation. Prior to that, I always try to design something fabulous and extradinary. However, I can't even explain my concept clearly. Regarding ro three tectonic, I realized they are tools of designing an architecture. Architecture is based on point/line/pane, mass or fame & infill, and these tectonics are also means to express emotions taht architects attempt to put in the architecture. I found Earth Studio deeply influenced my perspective towards architecture, it is my turning point.
