Artist in progress/ Zine Interview with the artist Hannah Smith The zine is the formation of the early stage of a recently-initiated project, the zine format is purposed to exhibit on my undergraduate degree show. Essentially the project is to create an archive of conversational materials with my friends working in all sort of art fields. it stems from my curiosity about forms of interviews( how does it communicate through media),my interest in my artist friends’ brains(the most fascinating things in the world), and the simple want to do something with them. Hannah is the second person I invited to have a conversation with me, we sat down to talk about her work, her research, and her life being both a barista and an artist at her studio above our living space. Drawing connection from her love of books, her thoughtful nature and an inspiring figure to my practiceHans-Ulrich Obrist, I also picked 12 question from the book Lives of the Artists, Lives of the Architects, taking out the context of them and asked Hannah to answer the questions purely based on her own interpretation.
