The right body temperature is essential for focus, concentration, ability to act and react and effectiveness. Even at a slightly elevated core temperature of 37.5 °C, the human body loses reaction speed and relevant visual and auditory signals. At a mere 0.2 degrees rise in temperature, (i.e. up to 37.7 °C) heat exhaustion already begins to

Heat stress management is therefore the most important feature that high-quality gear MUST have. LION HazMat CBRN certainly has this characteristic, thanks to the exclusive use of GORE® CHEMPAK® fabrics.

RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN BENEFIT FROM LION’S QUALITY PROCESS
Throughout its 100-year plus history, LION has dedicated itself to providing quality products and services. To obtain the highest standards possible, LION went through the expense and effort to become ISO 9001 registered and to maintain that certification.
A REAL COMMITMENT TO QUALITY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The International Organization for Standardization promotes the development of standards, testing and certification to encourage the real commitment to quality products and services. An ISO 9001-compliant firm must pass a strict evaluation of its product development, manufacturing, quality and documentation processes by a qualified independent third-party registrar. The audits are rigorous and repeated as a follow-up, as well.
CONSISTENCY AND RELIABILITY IN EVERY STEP
ISO 9001 registration is proof-positive that LION is committed to continuous improvement of all procedures relating to meeting customer expectations. The process requires LION to formalise and document each and every step by which they design and manufacture protective clothing, and the processes used to respond to complaints, questions, suggestions and of course the occasional error. The result is consistency and reliability in every design and manufacturing step of every piece of protective clothing. Each garment is cut and sewn the same way and the customer gets the same product regardless of who performed the work.
RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER CONCERNS
ISO 9001 also requires the manufacturer to listen to customer feedback and act thereon. LION has a Quality Review Board that meets regularly to formally review customer feedback. A team member is assigned the responsibility of investigating the concern or suggestion from a customer and recommending a course of corrective action. The process also requires LION’s suppliers to be accountable by documenting their quality criteria and the corrective actions taken in case a material or product fails the criteria.
DISCLAIMER Never wear the garment without proper training; never wear the garment without all elements in place. The garment alone does not provide protection against chemical and biological hazards. CBRN ensembles provide no protection against flames. CBRN ensembles provide limited protection against abrasion, puncture, bodily fluids, other liquids and gases. No products, including garments, footwear or handwear, can offer absolute protection, even when new, and their protective performance will decline with wear, tear, abrasion and other damage associated with use. All data are based on ASTM F 739 Standard Test Method for Permeation of Liquids and Gases through Protective Clothing Materials under Conditions of Continuous Contact (chemical challenge 100% concentration and 0.1 μg/cm2/min breakthrough end point) except where modification is footnoted. Industrial chemicals and chemical warfare agents are tested per method outlined in NFPA 1994 Standard on protective Ensembles for First Responders to CBRN Terrorism Incidents, Class 2, Edition 2001 or 2007. (1) Chemical challenge concentration 350 ppm and 6 μg/cm2 breakthrough end point. (2) Chemical challenge concentration 1000 ppm and 0.1 μg/cm2/min breakthrough end point. (3) Chemical challenge concentration 10 g/m2 and 0.1 μg/cm2/min breakthrough end point. (4) Chemical challenge concentration 10 g/m2 and 4 μg/cm2 breakthrough end point. (5) Chemical challenge concentration 10 g/m2 and 1.25 μg/cm2 breakthrough end point. (6) Test stopped due to equipment limitation. All permeation data presented are believed to be reliable. They are generated using swatches of fabric under controlled laboratory conditions by independent and accredited third-party laboratories. 35 The data in this guide are subject to revision as additional information and knowledge become available.

TRAINING SUITS
For Training Purposes Only Responding effectively to emergencies requires practice. This applies particularly to stressful, strenuous and unpredictable HazMat and CBRN incidents. To formally train for handling hazardous material emergencies, LION developed specific and realistic training suits for MT94™ as well as ERS™. Both training suits offer exactly the same form-fitting characteristics, look and feel, but without the protective properties. They are not only ideal for practising donning and doffing, to speed up response time, but also for exercising under challenging conditions, like crawling, jumping, running, ladder climbing, going down utility holes, lifting and moving objects and crossing obstacles. They also combine perfectly with all well-known LION training products and solutions, for complete familiarity with realistic and true-to-life equipment, events and incidents.
