INTRODUCTION TO LION
Among all the potential incidents that can happen at airports, fires and explosions are the most significant hazards, posing severe threats to the safety of personnel and the survivability of aircraft. During an aircraft incident, the initial 90 seconds are of the utmost importance, requiring comprehensive training for all individuals involved. Why is this timeframe crucial? Research has shown that 90 seconds represents the critical window for evacuation, as tests indicate that conditions conducive to flashover in a post-crash fire are unlikely within this timeframe.
This proposal was explicitly designed for cabin crews, Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services (RFFS) and includes several training scenarios. According to statistics, up to 80 percent of aircraft incidents are caused by human error, with the most challenging phases occurring during takeoff and landing and the periods preceding and following these critical moments.
“AS HEAD OF SECURITY AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE FOR BRUSSELS AIRPORT, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND LION PRODUCTS BECAUSE IT ADDS VERSATILITY TO THE TRAINING ROUTINE AND ENABLES ME TO BRING THEORY INTO PRACTICE .”
- Joeri Werelds, Deputy Manager Fire and Emergency Services, Brussels AirPort
Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) and cabin crew teams must train regularly and frequently. Fire incidents may be rare, but the damage they cause is often catastrophic. As a result, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) teams must frequently train in various settngs to remain prepared. Training not only helps them stay ready for any situation but also ensures that the skills they acquire do not go to waste due to prolonged inactivity. Moreover, training helps maintain team spirit and cohesiveness and proves beneficial when teams face high turnover rates due to team members leaving for more action. While training is beneficial, individuals tend to fall back on ingrained habits in optimal training scenarios where flight crews undergo thorough simulator-based
training. While training is beneficial, it takes time for individuals to build muscle memory, which can lead to devastating unintended outcomes.
We have assembled a selection of training products to create the most effective and realistic real-life situations with the minimum amount of equipment based on the specific circumstances and tasks that apply to an aircraft.
The Aircraft Fire Incident Training Package from LION makes it possible to simulate a realistic scenario. Team members or first responders will be exposed to a real-life incident in their daily work, resulting in a beter understanding of what to do in such situations. Ultimately, the result is that they will know exactly what to do when it comes down to it.
APPLICATIONS & PRODUCT SHOWCASE
Firefighting requires constant preparation. Realistic and repetitive training scenarios are invaluable, especially in complex situations like aircraft fires. Traditional methods have their limits and can be risky. LION offers safe and unique training products for such exercises.
We have designed four product combinations that cater to diverse training scenarios based on the target group, desired outcomes, and budgetary constraints. Each package, except for the most comprehensive one, can be upgraded over the years. Opting for the minimal product package has several advantages.
