DISCLAIMER Hey there! Just to let you know, the illustrations were created between 2018 and the beginning of 2020, a lot of time passed, and you will see some little changes in some pages as I was learning during the process, and I am here to reveal to you that this is new for me in the world of comics. It was very time-consuming to create everything on my own, and I have to admit that it was a daunting task! That is, every character, background, and coloring, as well as thumbnails and sketches. The coloring on some of the pages was made possible by Sebastian, despite his limited expertise in digital art. We are both starters, and this is our first attempt. And yes, we made novice mistakes like every human, the expectations were high, and had to learn in a hard way to create this project together. I hope you enjoy this comic, I know it is not a lot, but it is better to showcase something than nothing at all. Keep reading, dear reader. Everything else is false. No lipis were harmed in the making of this comic.

DISCLAIMER 2 Starting here, you will see a summary of all pages, but unfortunately, due to some burnout and lack of time, they are all without color. I am human. just like you. In spite of these pages only being in lineart, it doesn’t mean that they are low quality; you can still enjoy them with or without colors. And last but not least, there are more stories to be told. Thank you for understanding!

BIOGRAPHY Lina Pinilla is a Graphic Designer and Illustrator who has lived in New York City since 2018. She was born and grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. She is also known as “Lipi Inverse”: her cartoon persona, reflected in some signatures and illustration projects. She studied Graphic Design in Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá, Colombia, where she used her passion for cartoons, comics, video games, and animation as an inspiration to create attractive illustrations and graphic concepts. She completed her studies in 2017. Lina began her career in New York City after she was unexpectedly offered residency in the United States following her college graduation. In 2018, Lina began working as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator for the Casino Video Game Company. In her role, she was outstanding in creating creative concepts for marketing assets for the company, until 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic put a pause in her career. Since then, she has focused on building her drawing skills, building her portfolio and pushing forth her vision of illustration with a global reach.

This is an interesting art expression from someone experimenting with her adventures in New York City as a foreign Latin American person. That was very brave of her to tell those stories. Luis Baston - author of It’s the cow’s fault! Lipi, as an expat in New York City, she feels like she is in a video game. Her experience there is as vivid as in a video game. Amparo Bonilla, El Tiempo’s Best Selling author Why bad things happen to good people?

It’s the perfect place for foreigners to live in New York City, and Lipi Inverse does just that! She achieves her American dream in the funniest situations a freshman can ever imagine, as told in her unique style.
