Characters The characters in Final Destination are all victims because every move they make they are being watched. They are having their deaths all planned out and only one of them can change it.
The villain in Final Destination is death. Death plans out the deaths of all the characters apart from one. However, the one who lives till the end sees all the others die. Whether there friends or strangers they know how but when is another question, left for the viewer to figure out.
Character codes seen in Final Destination 3 The character codes include the final person left at the end f the film. Which is the person who knows/ figures out the order of death. The weak and vulnerable female is presented as the boyfriend of the one who can see the deaths. Making her more hysterical because she knows she will die but they don’t want to leave each other. There can be a hero in Final Destination because he tells people that they will die next and tries to help them escape death. However, it is short lived when they realise that just gives death the next person. With them all being teenagers the horror genre says they always die. Final Destination shows all teenagers involved dying in some way or the other.
Location codes seen in Final Destination 3 The location in Final Destination is always somewhere were there is something that could hurt or kill someone. For example the roller coaster has a break in it and some of them die. The warehouse has dangerous objects in it and a girl gets shot at with a nail gun.
Other than the location seen in this clip the rain is also a convention of a Horror film. The rain creates a real life effect to the viewer, so they can connect with the film better. The rain gives the impression that more bad luck is coming their way.
Sound in Final Destination 3 The sound in Final Destination is mostly nondiegetic. The non-diegetic sound is mainly the blood splatters, bone snapping and the low rumbling noise to indicate that the next persons time is up.
The diegetic sounds would be the engines of the cars, the train sound and the voices to make the scenes more realistic. To encourage the viewer to put themselves in the victims position.
Camera work in Final Destination 3 Final Destination uses a lot of long shots and close-ups to increase the viewers experience of the situations. The long shots are o show what is going to happen before it happens. Its like a preview before the incident, so the viewer sees what will happen. Where as the character has no idea. The close-ups are to show the dead peoples faces and what they look like when death has got them. The close-ups are used to make the viewer uncomfortable and to make them feel disturbed. There are also wide shots which are used when there is a blood splatter to show the whole effect of the blood going everywhere.
