Background The assignment was to create an identity for a conference. The conference was supposed to discuss a new scientific discovery in the future that was meant to be a mix of reality and sci-fi. I developed an idea that focused on millennials, young people that will grow up in a future society. The idea was to discuss the future evolution of homosapiens. The female and male sexes will merge together and we will become one sex. Rather than being one sex or one gender or another we will be only humans.

Concept The concept was based on the word ”equality”. Instead of being different we will become equal. ”We are one”. That is also the name of the conference. The layout is based on the word equality as well as inspired by the concept of yin/young. The different pages and spreads reflect and complement each other. Scale, balance and alignment are mainly used to convey the message of equality, and color is used for contrast. The typography is readable from both up and down, as yin and yang. For the text I used a super-family named Calluna that consist of both a serif and sans serif version that complement each other. Both of them are used as headlines, body text and as a decorative face, and they are used equally.

Background The assignment was to re-design a magazine and develop a new identity for it. The magazine that is re-designed is a Swedish LGBTQIA magazine named QX. The magazine has had a hard time reaching out to the young queer community. A majority of the young people in the community are feeling insecure about their identity. A solution for that is to reach out to young people by highlight young adults and artists as role models.

Concept The goal was to give the magazine a more relevant and modern approach. Each issue has a theme and conveys a chosen message. The concept of this issue is "Norm". What does the word stand for in todays diverse society? The system that was created is strongly grid based and the primary colors are black and white. Each magazine is guided with a specific spot color. The colors that are used are specially picked from the pride flag. One color is used for each issue.

Background The assignment was to redesign and create a new identity for a company. H&M is one of the most well known brands in the world. They sell a variety of items from clothes to accessories and possess one of the most fast moving trend marketing systems. The products change almost every two weeks. Every year H&M collaborates with famous designers that makes it possible for all the customers to buy designer clothes at an affordable price. H&M offers fashion and quality at the best price in a sustainable way. Quality includes ensuring that all products are manufactured in a way that is environmentally and socially sustainable.

Concept The concept was based on H&M values. H&M aims to be run in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Sustainable means that the needs of both present and future generations must be fulfilled. The concept behind the identity is meant to inspire and convey the spirit of H&M. The identity is a reflection of their brand values and is meant to represent both present and future generations. The color palette used for the identity is based on the current color scheme to keep the brand recognition, but the logo is completely new and offers the opportunity to introduce a new emblem to the H&M branding.

Background The Frey vineyard is a third-generation family-owned and operated winery located in the Red River Valley in California. The vineyard is one of the first biodynamic wineries in the US. They combine the best modern and traditional winemaking methods to showcase a distinct variety of flavors. Through minimal manipulation in the cellar they express the authentic character of our soils and climate.

Concept The concept of the new identity for the Frey winery is to celebrate the planet we live on and the nature that nurtures us in our everyday life. Three different wines, a Chardonnay, a Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot are each dedicated to the sun, the rain and the earth to show reverence to nature. 95

Background In today’s Swedish society many things have changed. The concept of this cookbook is based on those changes. We live in a society where people come from different backgrounds and cultures. In the world we live in we also put a lot of pressure on nature. I wanted to celebrate the local organic ingredients and highlight our diverse Swedish forever changing culture. In the simplest of ways you can create the most exciting and true dishes. The story about our food heritage is told through a storybook narrative. The main character is eight year old Aile who has Swedish, Sami and Persian roots. The cookbook is therefore written in English, Swedish, Sami and Persian.

Concept Roots Scale Grain is a cookbook about Swedish heritage today. The book tells a story about moving forward. It’s not just a culinary experience but a cultural journey. It’s a book that explains how to take care of nature by only cooking with what is most essential. When you are reading the book, you should feel like standing on top of a mountain, deep inside of a forest or in the middle of a field. Roots Scale Grains is not just a cookbook, it’s the story about all of us and the food we have eaten for generations.

Background Our Legacy is a Swedish brand that was founded by Jockum Hallin and Christopher Nying in 2005. The brand started with these two friends sharing their passion for skateboarding and music in the 90s. The story of the company began a long time ago when they found a torn shirt, where the person who owned it had taken parts from different shirts and stitched them together. It felt like the shirt told them a million different stories at the same time. With that found shirt in mind, they created a new garment. They originally named the shirt “30 Years as an Artisan” and it was later renamed to “Generation Shirt”. Our Legacy today has grown internationally and the ”Generation Shirt” is one of their best sellers.

Concept The idea of this concept is a celebration of ”The Generation Shirt" and the company itself. Going back in time to remember the past, the idea was to use the founders memories of why they started, and to create a limited edition collection that helps describe the brand roots and also something extra to show their appreciation for their costumers.

Background Many teenagers and young adults don’t read news because they feel that they don’t have time to read. Some also feel that they get information on social media. The problem is that articles on social media aren’t always true, and potentionally are so called ”fake news”. This generation is used to fast information and many feel that long articles are overwhelming

Concept The solution is an app that provides us with everyday news in a new way. Similar to apps such as Instagram and Facebook, where you get your updates through a newsfeed, you’re able to save articles and share or discuss them with your friends. The app also focuses on the experience of reading an article. Making every article more engaging and interesting instead of boring and overwhelming. The goal was to create an application that would let the user read articles quickly and in a new way that is fun and easy. The app also guarantees that all information in the app is true.

Background Create a store with high quality products. Researching the market and target allowed us to find what was missing and what needed to be changed. The biggest problems we found were that a lot of people are looking for self-expression in a market that doesn’t have it. Quality and value are as important as information about a product, regarding ingredients, materials, processes, production and transportations. We also found the appreciation for local production and the importance of giving back to the community.

Concept From is a store experience that designs and collaborates with local craftspeople to tell a story that promotes transparent production, creating value and opportunity for the guests to express themselves. The store functions as an exhibition place. All product lines hold the core values of self- expression, as well as transparency, while providing high quality products that are functional, welldesigned and tell a unique story. The idea of the packaging was to create a long-lasting personal experience for each customer. Transparent process and production was one of our core values since we found a lot of trust issues in the market regarding ingredients, materials and production. Our focus of the transparent production and the story behind the product led us to the craftspeople. We found that the market we researched appreciated synergy between different companies and appreciated local production. We decided to create a line where the store brand would invite local artists to collaborate. For a limited time period the artist would sell their crafts inside the From store. That would allow artists to tell their own all unique stories to a broader market. At the same time the From brand would create value and opportunity for the guests to express themselves.

Concept From Basic includes bath and body products and is one of the core lines. This label is designed to be the essential bath and body product for the customers needs in their everyday life. It holds the core values of the From brand, while ultimately creating a reoccurring customer base. The products are made from fresh organic ingredients with the finest essential oils and safe synthetics. All products hold the brand values based on the ingredient that are used and by the people who craft them. That is kind to both the skin and the environment. The idea of the packaging is to carry those values by using see-through bottles to show the product. We also developed a simple typographic system that allows the consumers to know everything about the product.

Concept From Home is a homeware and home decor line that is created to last. It holds the core values of self-expression, as well as transparency, while providing products that are functional, well designed and tell its unique story. The idea of the packaging was to create a personal experience for the customer. We decided to focus on the story behind the products and the importance of the transparent production. The packaging is also based on the idea of giving and receiving a letter or a gift. It’s basically From us, To you. We decided to package the products as simply as possible, focusing on the letter with the message and values on the front, and only including what we found was most important to tell the story. This gave us a unique system with scale and color coding that holds the From brand together.

Concept From Collaboration is our home decor partnership line. Our collaboration line communicates all of our values and exemplifies our brand. Craftsmanship, transparency, and self-expression are all shown. It’s the coming together of minds and art. The collaboration line is manly functioning as an exhibition space and we wanted to provide a space for local artists to show and sell their arts and crafts in collaboration with the From brand. The idea was to have it function as a subscription, and let the artist be a part of the store for a limited time period. Each artist could tell their own all unique stories. The idea behind the packaging is function as an experience and is designed to tell the story of the artist. Each packaging is a unique piece to honor the diverse talent of the craftsperson. The products is meant to last and represent high quality craft that values all the time and all the design the artist put into their work. The artist we worked with for this packaging line is Julia Lemke, the founder of Totem. Julia is a graphic designer and potter based in San Francisco. Totem is a collection of homeware inspired by natural forms, simplicity, and traditional craft. All of the Totem products are made by hand in Berkeley, California.
