We caught up with designer Hannah Davidson to ask her how she created this striking, art deco inspired bathroom in Leamington.
Q: How did the design process work?
A: During my first meeting with Erika she showed me five images from Pinterest that she liked and from this I could see that she liked things that were slightly different to the “norm”. I also discovered that she loved the industrial/steam punk look, but had also spent a lot of time in a family home by the sea. This inspired me to combine the two styles to create a cool contemporary space.
Q: What do you think is the most successful element of the design?
A: The colour scheme has really worked well, the boldness and crispness of the bath and shower panels really add a 'wow factor'. The strong contrast of black, white and straight lines is then softened with the greys, browns and organic shapes within the tiles. The design is as equally relaxing as it is striking.
Q: What elements took up the majority of the budget?
: The majority of the budget went in the detail and finishes; having the Brushed Black Chrome brassware, the detailed shower panels and the bespoke painted bath quickly adds up but is worth it in the end.
Q: Any tips for people embarking on similar projects?
A: Allow lots of time before the fitter is due in. The finishes on this project were on an 8-10 week lead time and color manufacturing issues can occur so it's best to factor in extra time just in case things don't go as planned!
