Q: Our daily regime is becoming more frantic by the day.
A: We used to say it was important to find a good worklife balance to look after our mental health along with our general wellbeing but now it's finding a good work-life balance vs smartphone interaction that is going to be critical for our mental health moving forward.
A 24-7 flow of updates, news, drama and work related emails, among other things, has meant our brains are engaged far more than they ever were.
There was a time not so long ago when our only form of contact outside the workplace or home was by a landline telephone. We are now inundated with communication, not only from landlines, but from smartphones and the numerous ways it's possible to communicate a message.
Seeking refuge from the onslaught of communication in a tranquil setting in our home will be key in the very near future, very much like how the kitchen has evolved to become a ‘living space’.
The bathroom continues to evolve quickly; ambient task and mood lighting, music and heating can now all be controlled from Amazon Echo with voice commands.
It is now possible to transform almost any Duravit bathtub into a practical storage area or seat, changing mat or relaxation deck with their range of tub covers. If room and budget allows, opt for a heated Wedi lounger to create a true spa room experience and locate the toilet in a dedicated room or hidden niche as this will further enhance your daily relaxation experience. •
