What’s New in GrantedGE 4.2 GrantedGE 4.2 was released on August 27, 2014. This document describes the new features, enhancements, and bug fixes that are included in this upcoming release.
General Enhancements
The GrantedGE program has been upgraded to take advantage of new features and functions in the Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0. (It was previously using 2.0). Each workstation and server running GrantedGE will be required to have the .NET Framework 4.0 installed on it. The Login screen now checks the workstation .NET Framework version before showing the homepage. As an alternative to connecting to The Raiser’s Edge for CRM functionality, we have developed a new interface for connecting to Blackbaud ECRM. The functions that GE uses to interact with RE (Lookups, Zooms, Sync processes, etc.) are now also available for ECRM. This release focuses on enhancements in data entry, particularly on the Grant, Proposal, and Scholarship Application screens. The field tab order has been tested and adjusted for optimal data entry, and new keyboard shortcuts have been implemented on these screens: CTRL-S (Save), CTRL-W (Save and New), and CTRL-L (Save and Copy). These three shortcuts are consistent with those found in The Raiser’s Edge. Users should now be able to key multiple application records without using the mouse. We have removed a code reference to Microsoft Excel 2010 that impacted the Grant Import screen. Now users can import Excel spreadsheets that were created using Office XP through Office 2013. To spruce up the look and feel, we have added Charts on the Home page and the System Statistics page.
Grant Screen
The "Conversion" functions in the Grant screen toolbar now work properly. We have resolved problems with the Board Date field when navigating through Grants.
Designated Grants
Designated percentages can now handle decimal places. Designated percentages must now add up to exactly 100%. (This can be validated using the PreValidate function on the batch screen). Logic has been added to handle distribution of extra/remainder pennies, so that there are no funds leftover after a designated distribution.
After drilling through to a Recipient’s Constituent record, the Designated Grant screen now automatically updates the Recipient’s address. We have added a Recipient CC: field to the Designated Grant screen. We have added Grant Type field to the Designated Batch screen.
Web Applications
The Profile Application Summary page has been reorganized to be more user-friendly. Irrelevant fields are now hidden until they are relevant. Several bugs on this screen have been resolved. Profile Applications now have their own Submit Status setting (instead of using a Global Setting). This allows some applications to be submitted with a COMMITTED status, and others to be submitted with a SUBMITTED status. Workflows now accept both “Web Applicant” and “WebApplicant” as the supplemental page step user. On the Profile Detail popup screen, data entry for calculated fields is better guided by the system to enhance the accuracy of data. The Web Application Summary screen now has charts, and it allows filtering by date ranges. Each HTML page can now use either its own custom Style or the System Default Style (editable in the Portal Config Settings). When validating the HTML for an application page, the page types are now validated. The Administer Scoring screen now has Correspondence functions for Advanced and Declined applications. We have reorganized the first tab of the Application Review Group screen to be more userfriendly. Application Review Groups now allow criteria configuration using all active profile fields (not just Characteristics). The Application Review Group Selection tab now allows customization by linking to a custom database view (V_GRSCR_ApplicationReviewGroupAdditionalFields). We have reorganized the first tab of the Review Committee screen to be more user-friendly. Review Committee members can now be selected from RE or GE (with two separate links).
Overnight Sync Processes
The Constituent sync now updates Designated Grant Recipient addresses (but only if the address types match, so that alternate addresses aren’t overwritten). We have refactored the Constituent Refresh sync function. It is now much faster than before. The Constituent sync now successfully creates Scholarship Applicant records for constituents that have the GRS (Student) Constituent Code. (This was not working properly before).
Utilities
The Report Setup Utility has a new “Add all fields from page” feature, which make the process of creating custom views for Web Applications much easier.
