Preparing for your BVAL Challenge • •

• •

Make sure your BVAL Challenge is realistic. If you are starting a new activity, don’t try to do too much at once – start gradually and build up your activity as your fitness increases. Make sure you warm up at the start of your activity session and cool down at the end. When you are taking part in your activity, make sure that you drink lots of fluids to keep hydrated. Keeping Motivated

• • • •

Try to do your activity with someone you know; you will help to motivate each other. Keep a record of what you are doing; you will see how far you have come from when you first started. Share your progress with the BVAL team and others undertaking their own Challenge. If you have chosen a sport, why not join a club? We’re here to Help!

• • •

If you need help to plan your activities, speak to a member of the BVAL team. We can give you information about activities in your area and local sports clubs. We will be sending out regular emails, so make sure we have your email address.

If you need some help to get started on your challenge, you can book some time with one of our fitness team so that you can have your own personal fitness plan (this is free if you have a lifestyle membership; otherwise there is a charge for this service).
