Do Good...Together ...Together Dear Center Community, One of our survey respondent’s said it best when asked what three things set the Center apart. The answer: “Community, Community, Community!” It’s true isn’t it? The Center community is a unique, caring, home away from home. Much good has been done both big and small because of our community. This Fall, we’ll be sharing more of the good things you may not always see, and the good you can be a part of with your family and workout community. We will also provide more opportunities for you, your family, and our community to Do Good...Together. Thanks for Being Part of the Center!

Anthony Mejia

Do Good...Together

Beautiful Day Join us this October for Beautiful Day, a chance for our community to give back to our City by supporting schools in Redwood City. This year’s projects will be at Roosevelt Elementary and Kennedy Middle School. Last year tennis brought a group of their young players to work on a project together. We challenge you to do the same whether it’s your spin class, masters community or friends you hang out with on the deck. And, because most of us don’t want to miss a day of being fit why not build that in by a run, swim or bike before or after the event? WHAT?

WHO?

Serve Local Elementary Schools Cleaning, classroom upgrades, landscaping (we are partnering with principal and teachers and principal to meet specific needs)

You and your friends and workout community! This is the perfect way for your family to serve with another family and have fun!

WHEN?

Invite family and friends (anyone is welcome). Sign up online to be on same team. Details coming in September...

October 17 (sign up for 4-hour slots)

HOW?

Kennedy Christmas Project In 2005 some middle school students began delivering gifts to Kennedy families in need. This small act of generosity has grown into a partnership between PCC and the Kennedy Family Center. PCC brings a Christmas “store” to pre-identified families to “shop” for clothes and items they’ve indicated as needs. Volunteers purchase these items in advance, label them for the families and bring them to the store. When families come, they pick up their items and wrap the gifts together with our PCC community. Child care is provided for children with games so parents can “shop”. After families wrap gifts, and share refreshments they load up their car with help from volunteers. This is a unique opportunity to give love, share and connect with real people in a tough spot.

December 12 Watch for more details to come

“My entire family has volunteered with Kennedy Christmas and we look forward to helping each year. We enjoy meeting people from our community and from PCC, and it’s a great way to give back. Kennedy Christmas helps frame the Christms season as something more than just a time to think about ourselves and our immediate families, and gives us an opportunity to show love to Redwood City families.” -Jenn Wong, Center member, mom of three young boys.
