The LISBON DESIGN SHOW holds its 7th edition 5 - 9 October at the International Fair of Lisbon.

LXD is the largest design event in Portugal, in the equipment/product (house and lifestyle), fashion (clothing, jewellery, footwear and other accessories) and interiors and visual industries, and has established itself as the only high-quality platform for the promotion of national design, in support of young designers and creators, schools, emerging brands and start-ups.


This annual event brings together more than 300 designers and brands that use the platform to present their new brands, products and collections. In addition, they take advantage of the contact with the market, identifying sales points in the retail network and, ďŹ nally, the direct sales to more than 55.000 visitors.

Besides the showroom, the event offers a dynamic programme over ďŹ ve days, with workshops, conferences and fashion shows.



The Lisbon Design Show aims to promote design and establish it as a competitive and distinctive aspect of the products and organizations, making it stand out as the only design event in Portugal to take on a business approach.

The Lisbon Design Show is a multidisciplinary and creative event and, as such, aims to showcase the identity of the designers, businesses, cultures, societies, styles of life, pleasure and the art of living.

This, by fostering a network of contacts and businesses, in a single venue, placing design at the centre of the discussion and of the agendas of players and design promoters.


For many years a generational and conceptual "gap" existed between industry and Portuguese designers/creative artists. However, it is clear both that a paradigm shift is taking place, and that the partnerships between these two complementary universes, although rare in the past, are becoming ever more frequent, strategically efďŹ cient, and economically successful. More and more, the exception is becoming the rule, making it vital that the multiple processes and heterogeneous factors that characterise these synergies, be understood. The 7th edition of The Lisbon Design Show aims to contribute to the success of this symbiosis, through debate, the exchange of experiences and the creation of partnerships - a social and economic MEETING-POINT in support of the industry, designers, creative professionals, brands and start-ups.

DESIGN(IN)DUSTRY, a word which is singular in its morphology but plural in its meaning, is used as the motto for an event which will attempt to identify the processes and existing advantages in the articulation between design and industry. This, as a strategic element, decisive in the characterisation of the products in terms of their functional/ aesthetic quality, differentiation and value within the global market.

An area aimed at providing support to companies, brands, designers and creative professionals who create objects using different scales and materials.Products which are still in their commercialisation or prototype phase may be displayed - proof of concept. Product design includes furniture, lighting, ceramics, household items and electronics. The products displayed at the event will not be eligible to compete either for the + DESIGN Prize or for the selection of pieces that will decorate the IDEAL HOUSE. IDEAL HOUSE is a premium area commissioned by a group of interior decorators and architects, in which pieces and products gain a dimension and life of their own in a real and desirable environment.



The most recent, cross-cutting and diverse area of the event encompasses graphic design, web design, motion graphics and multimedia. A fast-growing area within the national creative industries landscape. The B2B relations with other exhibitors and visitors will certainly be one of the main highlights.



Directed at interior design and architecture ateliers, interested not only in presenting its projects in the areas of the food industry, hotel and housing etc., as well as in increasing its network of contacts, creating partnerships with other designers and brands represented at the fair. This year, the interior design area will be part of the ideal house project, which focuses on new trends in decoration and contemporary lifestyle.



One of LXD's most dynamic and diversiďŹ ed areas. Brings together the various elements making up the fashion world: clothing, footwear, accessories and jewellery. Democratic area aimed not only at experienced designers, but also at young talents that take advantage of the event in order to launch new brands and collections. The fashion shows LXD Trends and Africa Fashion will take place during the event.

TRENDS LXD is a fashion event committed to promoting creative professionals and emerging designers, and plays an important commercial role in publicising the collections among professionals, opinion-makers, fashion lovers and the general public. TRENDS LXD is part of the Lisbon Design Show and is open to all creative professionals and designers within Portuguese fashion, who wish to promote and disseminate their runway collections in a fashion and professional setting. AFRICA FASHION is an event dedicated to promoting African creative professionals and designers, both resident and non-resident in Portugal, through exhibitions and fashion shows aimed at publicising and disseminating African fashion both at national and international level. During the 5 days of the event, all designers take part in the Lisbon Design Show exhibition. In addition to this, they participate in the AFRICA FASHION show, a day dedicated to African fashion under the watchful eye of the industry's professionals, bloggers, media and the general public. An informal networking event and an opportunity for direct sales to more than 55,000 visitors.

DESIGN TO SALE CONTEST by The European Capital of Furniture ENTREPRENEURSHIP | INNOVATION | CREATIVITY DESIGN TO SALE by the European Capital of Furniture is a contest sponsored by the City Council of Paços de Ferreira and co-organised by the AIP Foundation, through the organisation of the Lisbon Design Show.It is addressed to all product/ equipment designers, architects and fashion design entrepreneurs, who aspire to create their own furniture or clothing line.

It is a challenge and an opportunity for anyone who wishes to start a career in design. The initiative is promoted by the municipality of Paços de Ferreira, which aims to contribute to the merging of the creative community with its productive capacity, know-how, and skill pool. In order to win the competition, participants must display an entrepreneurial spirit and creativity, and present a consistent project. Is that all? Yes ... then the municipality of Paços de Ferreira chooses the productive unit most suitable to production, provides a work space with all the amenities, and takes care of short term accommodation costs.
