OUR MANIFEST: ADDING COLOUR

TRIWA is an acronym for TRansforming the Industry of WAtches. Our goal is to promote the ethos of attitude and individuality in the traditional world of watches and accessories. We are deadly serious about being playful and unpretentious and we don’t mind being provocative in a creative way. Each piece that leaves Stockholm is created with the commitment to bring you products that reflects individual style and personality. It always makes us happy to see stylish, smart and colourful people wearing our products. The self-confidence and integrity of the TRIWA brand comes from being a born leader, not a follower. We are true creators that don’t mind being copied, after all it’s flattering. By the time you manage to produce a TRIWA clone, we’ll already be somewhere else creating the products you will try to copy next. We salute everyone who choses TRIWA, because your choice probably means that you are an artist at heart, just like us.

ADDING COLOUR BY: Alberto Seveso

Alberto Seveso is an Italian creative, born in Milan in 1976. Today he lives and works in Portoscuso, a small town in the southwest of the Sardinian coast. Seveso was introduced to the world of art in the beginning of the 1990’s, through a fascination for the graphics of skate decks and CD covers of metal bands. It was at this point that he first discovered the creative freedom to produce raw and experimental work using Photoshop. Alberto Seveso is always searching for new influences and ways to renew his art, and has spent the last years experimenting with high-speed photography and ink. If asked to explain his work he likes to say: “I don’t consider myself an artist, I’m just someone playing with software and creativity…”

“It’s hard to explain where I got the inspiration for my first series using this style, “Disastro Ecologico”. I remember that I saw something similar long time ago, and I felt impressed about high-speed photography. It makes me think about the possibility to stop time in a “click”. That’s why I loved to work with TRIWA on this project. It embodies the concept of my original idea: the watches represent the time running and I have the chance to stop it in an image.” – Alberto Seveso.

WATCH COLLECTION SS 2013 TRIWA is a company energized by individuality and character of the colourful people that wear our products. We love it when people take our watches and use them in new creative ways. This season, we’ve worked hard to encourage our customers’ resourcefulness, by designing our first fixed lugs watch; a pared down, truly flexible, stainless steel timepiece named Lansen. The watch comes with a pull through strap, braided in Swedish organic leather. The watch also works with all our NATO straps or any kind of bracelet your imagination might envision. Lansen is accompanied by a collection of hand cut acetate watches in bright summer colours at play with natural leather, milky white acetate and stainless steel detailing. Timepieces for those early spring days when the colour splash on your wrist might make you forget that it still rains outside. However, if you happen to enjoy the light grey colour of the spring rain, we’re also releasing a three-piece collection of monochrome, cloud blue watches. All and all, it’s an assortment of watches with a broad spectrum of materials and textures, intricate detailing and, of course, radiant colours. Teamed up with our most sophisticated bracelets to date, made of organic leather from the renown Swedish tannery Tärnsjö. A collection that we’re extremely proud to present!

INTRODUCING LANSEN a slender watch designed to sit skintight on your wrist, with a pared down dial inspired by the restrained functionalit y of mid-century aviator watches.

SHADES COLLECTION SS 2013 TRIWA strives after creating high quality sunglasses with classic cuts, contemporary detailing, flavoured by a great deal of attitude. The kind of glasses that we’d like to wear ourselves. This spring we’re showing three new unisex models, inspired by 1960’s aesthetics with thick acetate frames, rounded silhouettes and keyhole features. Each curve carefully designed to make you look your best. We’ve worked with a bold colour palette. Dressing our frames in bone white, leopard, bright pink, translucent blue and turquoise acetate with blue, green and gradient lenses. All TRIWA frames are made out of hand cut acetate, a high quality material originating from wood pulp and cotton fiber. Acetate is commonly used in high-end eyewear because the colour of the material never peels, yellow or fades, and because of the materials naturally irregular appearance that gives it diversion and depth. After cutting, the acetate is hand sculpted and polished into the intended shape. Each frame is then fitted with lenses from Carl Zeizz Vision, Optical class 1, a guarantee of high protection to the eyes

ABOUT US

TRIWA, an acronym for Transforming the Industry of Watches, was founded in 2007 in Stockholm by four friends with a common interest in watches and a mutual belief that the watch industry was too conservative and inaccessible to the modern consumer. They felt there was a need for humour and a creative attitude within the industry, rather than the male clichés and status symbols that were covering the market. By exploring materials and mixing traditional design with bold colours and playful details they created watches that gained popularity amongst what TRIWA defines as colourful people. TRIWA launches two new watch collections and one shades collection every year. For each launch TRIWA collaborates with artists within different fields of art. The artists are encouraged to create artwork inspired by the latest collection and the TRIWA motto “ADDING COLOUR”. Today TRIWA sells to approximately 1200 retailers spread across 22 markets. The company is based in Stockholm where everything from production, design, marketing and sales is handled by devoted staff.
