TITLE RACE!
MAN. CITY AND Arsenal battled it out last season, but it was the Cityzens who ended up bagging the title. There are going to be even more teams in the trophy tussle this season, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man. United all adding to their squads. It’s going to be the best title race in years!
NEW STADIUMS!
THERE’S NO Prem ground quite like that of new boys Luton. They’ve played at Kenilworth Road for almost 120 years. At the moment it only holds around 10,000 fans, and the turnstiles to one stand are in the middle of a row of houses. But they’re also busy building a new stadium – prepare for Power Court, Hatters fans!
SHOCK SCORES!
LAST SEASON we saw some totally ridiculous results, like Nottingham Forest beating Liverpool and Man. City losing to Brentford – twice. We just know that teams like Burnley and Sheffield United will spring some surprises. Watch out, big boys!
4
5 RASHY RAMPAGE! TROPHY TASSLES! COLOUR THE RIBBONS ON THE PREM TROPHY TO MATCH THE TEAM YOU THINK WILL WIN THE LEAGUE!
WE ONLY saw the beginning of Marcus Rashford’s revenge last season. The Man. United star stepped up his game and oppo defences couldn’t handle it. We can’t wait to see how good he’ll be this season!
2 DERBY DAYS!
WE LOVE to see the passion when local teams clash. We’ll get fiery games in the north, on the coast and in the capital – especially between Chelsea and Tottenham. This London derby will be one to watch now ex-Spurs boss Mauricio POCHETTINO MANAGED SPURS FOR FIVE YEARS! Pochettino is in the Blues’ dugout!

WE’VE TAKEN a risk and put our captain’s armband on Jack Grealish, and it’s not moving. Well, until Matchday 2, when we’ll turn to his goal monster team-mate Erling Haaland… AGAIN. Another season of FPL drama awaits. Join the fun!
FRESH THREADS! 10
what's in it?
SOME TRULY drippy kits will be on display this season. We’ve been so hyped about the new looks dropped by Prem clubs, including Chelsea’s sponsorless kit and the bubbles detail on West Ham’s new shirt!
Don’t eat me!
8 CLASS KICKS!
EUROPEAN 9 ADVENTURES! NEWCASTLE ARE set to play their first Champions League footy in more than 20 years. They’re one of a few different Prem teams to play in Europe this season, including Euro debutants Brighton. Will the Magpies and Seagulls soar?
WE KNOW what kits the top ballers will be wearing – but not what boots. Every season, Prem stars rock up in new wheels that blow us away. We’re buzzing for adidas X CRAZYFAST boots – Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah will be reppin’!

RECORD CHASER! WE PREDICT Harry Kane will break the Premier League goalscoring record in the next two seasons. Well, assuming he doesn’t leave the Prem. If H can resist a move to German giants Bayern Munich, he’ll surely smash it in front of goal this season. Spurs fans are keeping everything crossed!
NEW CELES! 13
EVERY YEAR, ballers bring us some epic brand-new celebrations. Last season, Man. United forward Antony pulled out a tiger cele. This year, we reckon Crystal Palace gaffer Roy Hodgson will do the worm after a big win!

GET READY for a new era in footy gaming. EA Sports are about to drop EA FC, the hottest new football game in years. Rumour has it, gamers can include men’s AND women’s players in Ultimate Team. We’re dreaming of pairing Reece James with his sis Lauren James on our right wing!

ERLING HAALAND CAN’T score that many again… can he? The Norwegian smashed Prem goalscoring records, despite Harry Kane netting 30 last season. Add in new Chelsea star Christopher Nkunku to the league’s stacked striking talent, and strap yourself in for goals, goals and more goals!
NEW BREAKOUT STARS!
16
EVERY SEASON, new stars announce themselves to the Prem. Brighton’s Kaoru Mitoma, Julio Enciso and Evan Ferguson lit up the league last season, and we’re hyped to see which ballers will rip it up. We predict Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise will go from star to superstar!
STAR SCORERS! WHICH OF THESE RED-HOT FINISHERS WILL SCORE THE MOST PREM GOALS THIS SEASON?

THIS IS A massive season for the Gunners. They came so close to glory last season and have spent massive money to try to go one step further this season. Whatever happens, Arsenal will be box office. Boss Mikel Arteta will need to bring all the magic!

DESPITE LOSING £40m star man James Maddison and other big earners, there’s pressure on new boss Enzo Maresca to lead the Foxes straight back to the Premier League. Maresca, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Man. City, has added proven Prem stars Conor Coady and Harry Winks to a squad that already has lots of quality. The King Power could be rocking!
NEW MANAGER Daniel Farke won the Championship twice with Norwich, and the Elland Road faithful are hoping he can repeat that success in West Yorkshire. If the team can gel quickly after a summer of change, and more key men aren’t lured away during the summer transfer window, the Whites shouldn’t be too far away come May!
LAST SEASON 18th, Premier League MANAGER Enzo Maresca CAPTAIN Jamie Vardy
JAKE SAYS
The Saints are putting their faith in youth and signed Man. City wonderkid Shea Charles to lead them back to the Prem!
BORO WERE in a relegation scrap when Michael Carrick took over last October, but incredibly, he led them to the play-offs. Optimism is high that, given a full season, he can deliver promotion this time around. They’ll need to keep or replace a few of the loan stars, though, while the experience of Jonny Howson and the goals of Chuba Akpom will be crucial!

SUNDERLAND
AFTER 11 seasons in the Premier League, the Saints are back in the second tier – but for how long? New boss Russell Martin guarantees stylish footy, but he needs to deliver success to a club that finished bottom of the Prem last season. Southampton could easily sell £100m+ worth of talent this summer, which will give them plenty of cash to reinvest towards a title charge!
HAVING REACHED the play-offs last season with injury problems in defence and attack, Sunderland will feel they’ll have an even better campaign if they can keep their stars out of the treatment room. The Black Cats have some of the most creative players in the league in stars like Patrick Roberts and Jack Clarke, so fans are looking forward to another exciting season!

NORWICH
They’re no longer obvious contenders and this could be a rebuilding season. But if Brazilian baller Gabriel Sara comes to the party, they’ve got a chance!
PLYMOUTH
New ownership brings fresh hope, after boss John Eustace showed promise last season – Ethan Laird looks a great signing as Blues eye the top half!
The newly-promoted Pilgrims should more than hold their own at this level, having held on to some key players. Watch out for new recruit Julio Pleguezuelo!
BLACKBURN
PRESTON
Rovers are high pressing under Jon Dahl Tomasson – if talented Adam Wharton kicks on they could break into the play-offs, but Ben Brereton Diaz is a big loss!
Good management and great loans did some heavy lifting with this squad last season, so they might find it tough staying in the top half this campaign!
BRISTOL CITY
QPR
If young forward Tommy Conway has a stand-out season like midfielder Alex Scott had last year, The Robins could be looking at a top-half finish!
Last season’s two wins in 27 games damaged morale, so Gareth Ainsworth must use all of his excellent motivational skills to lift the likely strugglers!
CARDIFF
ROTHERHAM
City have a new boss and some good Championship players with the likes of Perry Ng and Ryan Wintle, but goals could be a real problem for the Bluebirds!
Matt Taylor is one of the best managers chairman Tony Stewart has worked with, but as always, The Millers will be up against it at this level!
COVENTRY
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
Mark Robins has worked wonders, and now has new owners to support him. Replacing the goals of Viktor Gyokeres will be vital for another play-off push!
Darren Moore’s exit means the Owls missed the chance to find some much-needed stability. Can new boss Xisco Munoz come in and work some magic?
HUDDERSFIELD
STOKE
At the age of 74, can Neil Warnock still cut the mustard over a whole season? We’re not sure, and last season’s dice with the drop was too close for comfort!
The Potters are hoping that Ben Pearson stars, Tyrese Campbell stays fit and Emre Tezgel really breaks through, but a lack of depth may count against them!
HULL
SWANSEA
The Tigers only suffered six defeats in 28 games under boss Liam Rosenior last season. With the squad strengthened, progress this season looks likely!
Russell Martin has left, but Michael Duff could be an upgrade! He’s achieved more and will keep the play-off chasers’ style, whilst adding a more ruthless edge!
IPSWICH
WATFORD
Still buzzing after winning promotion from League 1, this tight-knit group, led by an excellent coach in Kieran McKenna, will be looking at another exciting season!
It’ll take the Hornets time to assemble a squad that can play Valerien Ismael’s high-octane pressing game, but this is Watford – will he get time?
MILLWALL
WEST BROM
With clean sheets in 36% of games under Gary Rowett, defence isn’t the question. But apart from Zian Flemming, do they have enough firepower to challenge?
Carlos Corberan is a top coach, but things aren’t great off the pitch and the Baggies have to sell before they can buy. This season could be a struggle!

EFL GUIDE
league one TITLE CHALLENGERS DESPITE LAST season’s play-off heartbreak, Bolton continue to make solid progress under manager Ian Evatt, especially if Ricardo Santos and Aaron Morley are on it. Derby, who just missed out on the top six last season, have added some proven League One performers, including defender Sonny Bradley. We reckon the Trotters and the Rams will be the teams to beat in League 1 this season!
PROMOTION HOPEFULS BARNSLEY NEED Neill Collins to replace Michael Duff’s brilliance in the dugout, while Blackpool have recruited well under the returning Neil Critchley, who guided them to promotion in 2020-21. Portsmouth, with Colby Bishop in attack, have brought in both quality AND quantity, while Charlton, with the added goals of Alfie May, should challenge for promotion too!
PLAY-OFF CONTENDERS ANOTHER SEASON, another play-off chase for Peterborough and Wycombe, whose signing of Shrewsbury Player of the Year Luke Leahy is a real statement. Lincoln toppled many a big-hitter last season, but The Imps need to add consistency. High-energy Bristol Rovers and Burton could spring a surprise, and don’t discount Oxford – their squad is better than last year’s struggle suggests!
MIDTABLE SECURITY STEVENAGE HAVE recruited most impressively of the promoted clubs and should be comfortable along with Leyton Orient, while relegated Wigan and Reading must stabilise before setting sights higher. Shrewsbury have lost their boss and some key men, but should have enough to stay up. So should Cambridge under gaffer Mark Bonner, if they can find some more goals!
FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL PROMOTED CARLISLE and Northampton won’t find the step up easy, but both have the managers that took them up. By contrast, Exeter and Port Vale both parted company with their gaffers, so Gary Caldwell and Andy Crosby need to prove themselves. Cheltenham have lost a load of key players and staff, while Fleetwood have huge off-field problems. It could be carnage!

EFL GUIDE
league TWO TITLE CHALLENGERS AFTER BEING promoted with 100+ points from the National League, Wrexham and Notts County have the quality and money to challenge for top spot again. Stockport look the best of the beaten play-off trio, while MK Dons look strongest of the relegated quartet, especially after re-signing Alex Gilbey. Also, watch out for a rejuvenated Gillingham!
PROMOTION HOPEFULS REAPPOINTING Grant McCann as manager following an 18th-placed finish is a statement of intent from Doncaster, as are the signings of defender Richard Wood and striker Joe Ironside. Salford, Mansfield and Andy Cook-inspired Bradford may have challenged for promotion in previous seasons, but the bar has been raised – this league just got a whole lot stronger!
PLAY-OFF CONTENDERS SWINDON NEED new boss Michael Flynn to make their talented squad more ruthless after faltering at times last season. Tranmere and Walsall could threaten the top seven, but much depends on their new inexperienced managers. Paul Hurst’s Grimsby showed what they can do in the FA Cup, but watch out for Barrow. Boss Pete Wild’s energetic style rubs off on his players – they might have a shock in store!
MIDTABLE SECURITY FOREST GREEN have it all to do after slumping to relegation and appointing the untried David Horseman as new manager – but they do have money to spend. Meanwhile, Wimbledon have a far better squad on paper than last season’s 21st finish, so big progress is a must. Improvement is also likely for Harrogate, who recruited well, and Colchester, who have a highly-rated coach in Ben Garner!
FIGHTING FOR SURVIVAL AFTER BATTLING AS UNDERDOGS for so long, Morecambe and Accrington Stanley were finally relegated last season. They’ll have to rely on the experience of managers Derek Adams and John Coleman, as both squads look weak. There’s chaos at Crawley, while Crewe, Newport and Sutton have lost several key players. They may struggle to recover last season’s midtable form in a stronger League Two!

RANGERS
LAST SEASON 1st MANAGER Brendan Rodgers CAPTAIN Callum McGregor
LAST SEASON 2nd MANAGER Michael Beale CAPTAIN James Tavernier
THE HOOPS lost boss Ange Postecoglou to Tottenham, but they haven’t lost his motto: “We never stop!” As soon as star man Jota joined the Saudi league, new manager Brendan Rodgers strengthened the squad with some new signings. These included Norwegian wonderkid Odin Thiago Holm, Aussie ace Marco Tilio and South Korean star Yang Hyun-jun – tipped to be the new Son Heung-min. If top scorer Kyogo Furuhashi can keep netting, this stacked squad looks set to win their 12th title in 13 years!
IF RANGERS want to snatch the title from Celtic, they’ll need to do two things: tighten the defence and avoid the injuries that cost them last season. Boss Michael Beale has spent the summer boosting the squad with six smart signings. Look out for the return of Leon Balogun from QPR, ex-Crystal Palace keeper Jack Butland and former Chelsea academy right-back Dujon Sterling to shore up the defence. Up front, they’ve added Brighton forward Abdallah Sima on loan and are set for one more striker. Get ready for an epic season, Gers!

AFTER A last-gasp run to nab third place from Hearts at the end of last season, the Dons are determined to keep that energy. They’ve strengthened with a mix of youth and experience including defender Nicky Devlin and exciting Slovenia striker Ester Sokler. If Barry Robson’s boys can keep up the consistency at home and improve their away form, they could even break into the top two. Dare to dream, Dons?
HEARTS HAVE had a reboot! New boss Steven Naismith brought in a new attacking style of football at the end of last season – and he’s on a mission to take back third place in the league. With Scotland striker Lawrence Shankland leading the line, Liam Boyce and Beni Baningime back from injury, and the safe hands of Northern Ireland keeper Michael McGovern in between the sticks, the Jambos are good to go!
