A Mobil gas station and attached convenience store has opened on Robbins Lane, on the Syosset/Jericho border.

"It’s long overdue,” said a Jericho resident who lives off Robbins Lane. If you need a container of milk at 6 p.m. on Sunday you won't have to run to the supermarket. "

Right now, said owner Ravi Singh, who owns more than fifteen gas stations in Suffolk and Nassau counties and in Queens and Brooklyn, the Syosset station is the second on Long Island operating under the Jas Express brand. The other is in Bay Shore.

The station is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. The store serves coffee, baked goods, ice cream, hot dogs, and other fast food and snacks. Manger Raj Singh, son of the owner, says fresh sandwiches will be provided daily by a deli that the Singhes operate in Suffolk County.

The store has a public restroom and ATM machine. It will offer Lotto and newspapers.

"Our stations and stores have been very well received wherever we have opened them,” owner Ravi Singh said.

"We maintain them to high standards and provide all our products at reasonable prices"

The station is selling Mobil regular gas at a cash price of $2.99 a gallon. “It’s our promotional price,” Singh said. “We haven’t set a time frame for the discounted price.” or
