Fire damages Levittown home
A fire at a home on Holmes Street in Levittown was damaged in a fire that took place on Sunday, April 9, at 2:15 p.m. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries in the incident.
According to Nassau County Police, multiple fire depart- ments responded to the home, which was empty at the time of the fire. During the process of putting the fire out, an explosion from inside the garage of unknown origins occurred, causing one firefighter to sustain minor injuries. A second firefighter also sustained minor injuries while in the process of extinguishing the fire. Both firefighters were transported to a nearby hospital for assessment and treatment.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
