Hamish and Grace are searching for their missing friend. As they travel through their insect sized world they encounter a host of fabulous and fascinating creatures, including bluessinging Slow Worm Joe, a patch of mean strawberries and Adam and his army of marching ants. They have a long and dangerous journey ahead of them before they can become beautiful flutterbys. With music, book and lyrics by celebrated jazz legend Barb Jungr and directed by Little Angel’s Artistic Director Peter Glanville (Jelly Bean Jack, The Snow Queen), this is a brand new Little Angel production. CRAFTY KIDS Age 2–5 yrs plus parent/carer Our popular Saturday morning 8 week club for 2–5 year olds and their carers. See a performance of The Fabulous Flutterbys and meet the puppets. Spend the following 7 weeks on ‘crafty’ activities, songs and games linked to the show including some simple puppet making. Children leave each session with something they have made. Dates, Times & Tickets 8 May–3 July (no class 5 June half term) Saturday mornings 9.45am–11.00am or 11.30am–12.45pm £90 per carer/child pair / £65 concession (includes seeing the show) SATUDAY PUPPET CLUB Age 5–10 yrs This term will be a bit different to our normal SPC! As well as seeing our production of The Fabulous Flutterbys, participants will be working over 10 weeks to create costume and large scale puppets that will be paraded at the end of term at Little Angel Theatre’s ‘Angel Bug Ball’ summer party. SPC is split into 2 age groups—5–7s and 8–10s. PUPPET ACADEMY Age 11–16 yrs Develop puppetry performance and making techniques. This term participants create a bespoke piece of puppet theatre specifically for public performance at Little Angel’s Summer Party. Academy members learn the skills needed to take the first steps in the world of puppet making and performance as used in theatre, film and T.V. ADULT PUPPET MAKERS CLUB This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in developing puppetry making skills. Work with a professional puppet maker to make a puppet of your own, this term using found objects. Dates & Times Wednesday evenings 7.30pm–9.30pm 28 April–7 July (no class 2 June half term) £160 / £110 concession ADULT PUPPET PERFORMERS CLUB This is a puppetry course for all those who are interested in developing puppetry performance skills. This term participants will learn the art of short string marionettes, creating a short piece for performance. Dates & Times Wednesday evenings 7.30pm–9.30pm 28 April–7 July (no class 2 June half term) £165 / £115 concession All adult clubs include a show ticket plus post show chat with the puppeteers and backstage tour. FOR ADULTS… ADULT BEGINNERS PUPPET CLUB For those who are interested in learning basic puppetry skills. Designed for absolute beginners, it is open to all those who have always wanted to have a go at puppetry. Explore a variety of different puppet forms, learn the basics of puppet manipulation and make a very simple puppet. Dates & Times Tuesday evenings 7.30pm–9.30pm 27 April–6 July (no class 1 June half term) £160 / £110 concession
INSET Training for KS1 & 2 For teachers and educators who work with primary aged children. These sessions give ideas for simple puppet making in the classroom/workshop setting as well as practical ideas of how to help the children manipulate their puppets.
