This season at Little Angel Theatre we’re bringing back some of our favourite shows as well as opening exciting new productions. We’re thrilled to be partnering with puppetry expert Toby Olié, York Theatre Royal and Bristol Old Vic for a co-production of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean’s spooky The Wolves in the Walls. For younger children, we are working with Barmpot Theatre and Lincolnshire One Venues to bring you Nature Elly, which will take you on a countryside adventure at the best farm in Lincolnshire. You’ve also got the chance to see some of our most-loved productions again, or discover them for the first time – from Michael Rosen’s We’re Going on a Bear Hunt to Sylvia Plath’s The Bed and and from Julia Donaldson’s The Paper Dolls to an innovative version of Pinocchio. We’re joined by six brilliant visiting companies, bringing you performances involving clay modelling, cats, dogs and some zany eggs on legs. What else is new? We’ve launched an Intermediate Puppetry Course for adults as a follow-up to our extremely popular Foundation Course. You may have noticed some changes in our foyer and shop area as we expand our offer of books, toys and gifts. By shopping with us you are helping to support our productions and vital community work.

VISITING COMPANIES

BOH BOH'S NEW FRIENDS BONHOMME Presented by Little Bean Theatre as part of CAN Festival 2020 Saturday 8 & Sunday 9 February See diary at back for times Aimed at ages 3–6 Duration: 45 minutes approx Location: Studios

Boh Boh finds himself unique and different from others, will he be able to make new friends? After last year’s success, Little Bean is coming back to Chinese Arts Now Festival with a brand new interactive adventure that allows families to explore the galaxy together with our friend Boh Boh the alien. We sing and dance through space, exploring Chinese vocabulary, working on motor skills and most of all having fun! Performed in English, Mandarin and Cantonese (see website for details).

Presented by What’s Coming out of the Box Monday 6 & Tuesday 7 April See diary at back for times Aimed at ages 4-8 Duration: 1 hour approx Location: Studios Bonhomme is a family show built with mud and powered by thoughts. Based in a community garden, this new immersive and participatory show seamlessly blends storytelling, object theatre, live music and philosophy for children. Children are natural philosophers and start to question the world around them very early on. What’s Coming out of the Box firmly believes that children theatre should not shy away from big juicy topics. We enjoy asking big questions to small people. What makes a good human? This is the philosophical question we examine in Bonhomme, using the Golem myth for loose inspiration.

Tickets for visiting shows: £13.50 / £11.50 children & concessions

She explores the rooftops and alleyways of her town, encountering all the other creatures that are awake in the night. And in the still, quiet moments between one day finishing and the next one beginning, she has the ability to see and to understand all the dreams of the people sleeping in their beds below. But when a wild wind blows through the town, strange things begin to happen.

‘Every day, from here to there, funny things are everywhere’ Dr Seuss

Midnight is a dream-like show about time, the night and dreaming. And about clever cats and really silly dogs.
