SCHOOLS PROGRAMME SPRING - SUMMER 2019

This season features adaptations from two of the UK’s best loved authors, Julia Donaldson and David Walliams, as well as theatre experiences that link in directly with areas of the curriculum. Prince Charming opens up the conversation around feeling worried and taking care of each other - a great starting point for PSHE. The Journey Home is a thought provoking show which introduces ideas of conservation and taking care of the world - relevant for PSHE, geography and science. Suffrajitsu brings history to life via the true story of the Suffragettes who used jujitsu to defend themselves during their struggle for the vote, and Out of This World will take your pupils on a journey into space, to explore the solar system and planets and gaze at the stars! Finally, we’re ending the year with a trip to the seaside in Little Angel By the Sea. Don’t forget all of our wonderful workshops, including a teachers’ CPD session in February linking in with Prince Charming, which will look at how to explore fears and worries with children through the art form of puppetry. Read on to find out more and we hope to see you soon. Sarah Schofield Schools Programme Manager

However, the fight for change is never easy, and young Annie must learn to defend herself and her fellow suffragettes from those that seek to stop them.

Running time: 1 hour Inspired by the real lives of suffragettes, this is the story of a movement that divided the nation. Combining original music, puppetry and some graphic novel style ‘Ka-Pows!’ Suffrajitsu shows you that you too can change the world, no matter who you are.
