Today!

Our Year 2 project was linked with Global Goal number 4: Quality Education for Everyone. We worked with Little Architect, from the Architectural Association school of Architecture. We learnt to observe architecture and to design fun and creative buildings. We imagined ourselves in an idealistic, future school environment Teachers: Nina Butcher and Monique Jacobs Coordinator: Natasha Nair Little Architect team: Dolores Victoria Ruiz, Sylvie Taher, Patrick Morris in cooperation with Streetlight and Workshop studio.

We were given the amazing opportunity to send a video to school. We shared our schools and positive experiences. Through our drawings we showed them everything we like about our school. They liked our reading corners and we loved their buses called “Jeepnies. In Tacloban it is always sunny and the children are lucky enough to enjoy their lunch outside. We were fascinated with their landscape and how they engage with nature in their daily lives. From our project, we realised that differences should be celebrated and both schools were inspired to think about schools in the future.

Why do we need Little Architect?

Why Little Architect?

Because we, architects, need to build bridges between Architecture and Society. Because we all, citizens, don´t have access to architectural education in our statutory education. Because we need to teach about contemporary architecture and cities to avoid misconceptions about the urban environment. Because we all need more creative thinking for the future.

Some times, after many years utopian drawings become real...
