ROCK HILL | OVERVIEW T HE T HRE AD The Thread, an adaptive re-use of the 7+ acre site of the Baxter Mill buildings in Rock Hill, weaves together the city’s past, present, and future. Reutilizing existing elements while adding amenities to meet the needs of future generations, this project kick-starts a new lifecycle for the 150-year-old historic structure. The first phase of the project will include 150,000 SF of Class A office space, 30,000 SF of retail / food and beverge space, public amenities and a “Storyline” linear park that connects to historic downtown Rock Hill. The vision for this project, which is part of the City of Rock Hill’s Economic Development Master Plan of the Knowledge Park District, is to transform the “textile corridor” to an “innovation corridor”.
