STUDIO REPORT Activity: "Frame"

The balsa wood is firstly measured, so that equal width of the wood can be obtained. This is to ensure that each wood connected together with sticky tape is the same width, so it looks nice.

After the wood is connected together, it is the time to make it stable.

The way to make it stable is to make two long connected balsa wood to be separated from each other in a appropriate diameter. Then, these two pieces of woods are connected with a few pieces of woods connecting the two woods. 

More and more wood connected are fixed together using sticky tape. The more the connector, the more stable the bridge should be.

Observing the end of the bridge, some balsa woods are fixed to it to increase the surface area. It is because a higher surface area means a more stable structure.

This is the final product of the bridge. 

The bridge only support six bricks. This is not because of the bridge structure failure. It is mainly because of the flexibility. If two ends of the bridge are held with hands, the bridge could take at least up to 60 bricks. Therefore, the flexibility of this bridge should be improved.
