SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID LIU’s Office of Enrollment Services is dedicated to making your education affordable. Counselors provide assistance with the financial aid application process (FAFSA) and they’ll help create a personal plan to cover tuition, housing, and other expenses. FUND YOUR FUTURE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS & MERIT AWARDS A college education is an important investment in your future. LIU is dedicated to helping make a quality education affordable. Scholarships are determined by the information supplied in your admissions application and are based on your GPA at the time of admission. Merit-based scholarships are subject to change and exact amounts may vary from semester to semester. All scholarships are awarded on a funds available basis. If you receive a transfer academic scholarship, it may be renewed for up to six consecutive terms of undergraduate study if you meet the renewal requirements, which include maintaining full-time enrollment status and a 3.2 cumulative GPA.

Presidential Scholarships* — Up to $12,000 per year The Presidential Scholarship is offered to the highest achieving applicants, and includes entry into our prestigious Honors College.

Distinguished Scholars Award* — up to $9,000 per year Honors Scholarships are generally offered to the top 25% of our admitted students and also include entry into the Honors College.

Merit Scholarships — Up to $7,500 per year Merit scholarships are typically offered to students with a GPA of 3.5 or greater.

Recognition Scholarships — up to $5,000 per year Recognition scholarships are typically offered to students with a GPA of 3.2 or greater. *Application is required for acceptance into Honors College

ADDITIONAL SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES Other scholarships, such as the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship, may be awarded after your application is evaluated. A limited number of LIU Grants are available for students who do not meet the criteria for the scholarships noted above. Talent scholarships are available for students after auditions or portfolio submissions in the visual and performing arts. Scholarships are also available for athletes, alumni, siblings of current students, and veterans. 7

The College of Education, Information and Technology is the top producer of school administrators in the New York region, and LIU graduates attain leadership positions at every level of school administration throughout the country. J.M. Ladge Speech and Hearing Center The J.M. Ladge Speech and Hearing Center at LIU Post has the dual mission of assisting those with communication and related disorders by offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for infants, children and adults (individually or in groups), and training graduate students in communication sciences and disorders. All services are provided by supervisors with years of experience and graduate clinicians, both working together to provide quality care that makes a difference for families.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE Biomedical Sciences Laboratory Abundant laboratory facilities are available for students pursuing degrees in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, including clinical, forensic, and research laboratories. Radiologic Technology Laboratory LIU Post features a modern digital imaging laboratory with a fully functioning radiographic imaging unit. The medical imaging facilities allow for instruction in the areas of radiographic anatomy, positioning, and technique, and patient simulation. Virtual Lab Students have virtual access to a full array of health information management technologies, including a Master Patient Index (MPI), an encoder, an abstracting system, an electronic document management system (EDMS), deficiency analysis, chart tracking, and registration/ADT system to simulate real-world management of patient records and electronic information.

TRANSFER FAQS TRANSCRIPT SUBMISSION: Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended. Students who have completed fewer than 24 college credits will be required to submit high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores. Please note that transfer students who graduated from a high school in New York must submit proof of graduation in order to be considered for the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). HOW MANY CREDITS WILL LIU ACCEPT IN TRANSFER? LIU will accept a maximum of 72 credits from two-year colleges and 96 credits from four-year colleges and universities. We are happy to provide you with a preliminary credit evaluation.

COURSE REGISTRATION: You are eligible to register for classes upon your acceptance to LIU. LIU Post students with more than 60 credits or an associate’s degree may register by appointm­­ent with an Enrollment Services advisor in Kumble Hall at 516.299.4155. Students with with 59 or fewer credits should contact the LIU Promise office in Hillwood Commons at 516.299.3737.
