MS in Family Nurse Practitioner
LIU Post’s Family Nurse Practitioner program prepares graduate students to serve as autonomous practitioners. Students learn to diagnose, treat, and prescribe for conditions affecting pediatric, adult, and women’s health populations as they earn a Master of Science degree and qualify for licensure by New York State.
The doctoral program in Clinical Psychology was recognized with a National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology (NCSPP) award for Innovation in Professional Psychology Education.

Dr. Gregory S. Hunter is a Certified Archivist and Certified Records Manager, was the founding president of the Academy of Certified Archivists, manager of corporate records at ITT World Headquarters, and director of Archival Programs at the United Negro College Fund, Inc.
A Librarian of the Year Winner
Siobhan A. Reardon (M.L.S. Palmer School of Library Science ‘05) earned Library Journal’s 2015 Librarian of the Year award. Reardon is the president and director of the Free Library of Philadelphia, the first woman to serve in this capacity.

Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling Program Highlights
The diagnostic and therapeutic value of painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture is explored in-depth within this clinical and diagnostic curriculum. Students focus on children, adolescents and adults with disabilities in art therapy clinical classes that utilize the latest research findings, theories and techniques.
The Genetic Counseling program is committed to developing a new generation of genetic counselors with the knowledge and skill to help patients make the best decisions. With a diverse, interdisciplinary academic and clinical faculty, the program is geared toward students who desire a rigorous and comprehensive training in the field of clinical genetics. Skills learned through classroom-based didactics pave the way for students to enter their clinical rotations for “real-world” training. Additionally, both classroom work and numerous supplementary activities ensure that students will be exposed to expanded roles in genetic counseling in addition to traditional, clinic-based careers.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, the health administration field is expected to grow 20% between 2016 and 2026, at a much faster rate of growth than the average occupation.
The Master of Health Administration degree, provides the comprehensive curriculum needed to succeed as a manager or leader in a highly complex, competitive and ever-changing health care environment. This 36-credit program examines both practical and theoretical problems and challenges in the field, and provides an understanding of a wide range of topics including organizational structures, health care policy analysis and healthcare management.
In the Department of Criminal Justice, programs are designed to meet the constant demand for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals. Our core curriculum thoroughly explores the theory and practice of the criminal justice system. Students customize their study through elective courses that focus on a particular area of interest. Our full-time faculty is an internationally renowned group of academic professionals, and our adjunct professors are working criminal justice professionals, including attorneys, judges and law enforcement officials.
The LIU Post Department of Criminal Justice was one of the first on the East Coast to establish an internship program. All criminal justice majors intern in the field, and have access to an extraordinary network of criminal justice professionals, making it possible to be offered positions upon graduation. Criminal Justice students may also have the opportunity to spend a semester in Washington, D.C., participating in the Justice Semester at American University, or studying Forensic Psychology at George Washington University.
