WIND CORRIDOR

A business hotel & professional supporting space for windsurfing Site Area: Peng Hu, Taiwan 438m² / 4,686 sqft 0F~6F Year: 2013

Our client is a windsurfing instructor. Windsurfing is a popular water sport in Penghu. Internati0nal competitions are held here every year due to its strong northeast monsoon winds. The site incorporates characteristics of the local environment. The outdoor border is opened to connect with the surrounding environment; allowing sunlight to enter but blocking the wind. This creates an indoor landscape to allow visitors to enjoy Penghu’s ocean scenery, whether indoors or outdoors.

A residential public space Site Area: 1720m² / 160ft² 0F~1F Year: 2013

In recent years, families have become smaller. Most people either live with one other person or alone. As a result, their living space has also been reduced. Intergrating multiple functions into the public areas such as libraries, fitness rooms, bathing and dining areas seems to be a good way of enhancing the connection between neighbours. Also, for most Taiwanese, showers have to be efficient and economical. It seems like your body only has to be cleaned. By contrast, in some other countries, bathing is a way of refreshing one’s body and mind. We made the space transparent, but functions are still separate. This may lead to a loss of privacy but can create links between strangers. Life may become more interesting after you begin to share it.

Experience Center

An experience center for nature Site Area: 260m² / 2,797 sqft Year: 2016 Industry: Health and beauty View on web site: http://www. sla-group.com/work/arbonneinternational/

Arbonne International, specialising in botanical-based beauty, heath & wellness products, has opened a new office in Taipei, Taiwan – the company's first location in the Asia Pacific region. The interior design of the space draws inspiration from Arbonne’s core values, which are visually conveyed by extending elements from the tree of life. The trunk and branches create a dialogue throughout the space. Upon entering the space, visitors are greeted by a logo wall decorated with Norwegian moss and branch-like perforated partitions symbolising the lush growth of trees. The eye-catching green wall is decorated with plants to evoke the rich visual splendour of a forest. The floorplan uses curved lines as a guide to guide visitors and separate different spaces. Beyond circulation, the space plan also offers versatility to maximise functionality and can be used as a multipurpose area.

Baker & McKenzie is a world renowned law firm, composed of a number of lawyers in partnership. The partners wanted the design of the space to be stable, exquisite and reflect the spirit of innovation. In order to create a conference room for international meetings, in 2014, they planned to change some areas of their working space, creating a high-tech boardroom equipped with an AV system which can control 4K touch computer screens, electric roller blinds and all lamps. The lighting system also has many different modes. All of the control systems are very easy to use.

A New Office design Site Area: 438m² / 4,686 sqft Year: 2017 Industry: Ocean shipping

APL is an historic company in Taiwan. We want to create a new image for the company’s new office. We utilised their CI colour -Ocean Blue- for the carpet, glass film and wall paper, and we also used white materials to create a sharp contrast. For the service counter, we use polished quartz When customers come here to brick, white artificial stone and painted glass to discuss imports or exports, the create a bright and clean space, highlight the space will give them a sense of brand logo. accuracy and energy. The most difficult part of this project was moving the existing furniture and facilities from the original office to the new one. We also had to do restoration work on the former, which is a very old building. With an extremely limited budget, we completed the moving, restoration and construction of the new office, and also integrated the MEP facilities.

In the meeting room, we designed a gradient sea water pattern for the glass partition. As the sunlight changes, the reflection of the light creates random colourful illuminations on the floor.

In the office, we everywhere, incl bell on the wall. W to give this open

This is a space for everyone to share without boundaries or limitations. We used a multifunctional core to connect the internal and external spaces so that people can move freely. Integrating external and internal spaces makes the space more flexible and efficient. Nowadays, an office is more than just a work centre. People spend a lot of time in this space. In their new workplace, we tried to combine high-tech equipment and elements of local culture to create a more human, warm and emotive environment. Furthermore, a flexible, diversified working space can also enhance employees’ happiness and satisfaction.

透實體, which means “transparent boxes”, was our theme for the graduation design exhibition. For the first time, it was also a united exhibition, featuring the work of all of the interior design students in Taiwan. However, we planned, curated and created the exhibition ourselves. Going through many transparent layers with all of the design works and spaces overlapping, it created the whole impression of us. We are all different but also a big union. In addition to showcasing students’ designs, the exhibition promoted our department. Some successful alumni, teachers, furniture vendors and booksellers were invited to take part. In addition, many other events were held during the exhibition in order to attract more visitors.
