Philadelphia played a big part in refugee resettlement processes in US. Mayor of Philadelphia requesting continue to protect immigrants, including those whose home countries are too unsafe to return to, Syrian refugees for instance. Syria has the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. With an ever-rising death toll and millions left without food, water or healthcare, the people most harmed by fighting are innocent civilians. Providing a farming space where they could support themselves which will stop the fighting and hunger. Besides, food production will eventually benefit the neighborhood by providing fresh food after refugee could find a real job in city and financially supporting themselves, farming then will become an additional financial income.

However, when Syria refugee first come to States, they suffer from well-founded fear from American public based on their race, nationality, religion, ethnicity, political opinions, or membership. They may be treated badly because of any tiny mistake they did, which really interrupts the development of their resettlement process. Therefore, to alleviate the fear and to avoid the conflict between refugee and local people, living unit for them in this project are placed at the backside of building to avoid the direct visual contact from public area. People who live in there would not feel constantly being watched, creating a private living space for them.

CROSS HYBRIDIZATION SYNTHETIC DOMAIN individual work/ Josh Freese
The pattern has the quality of intersecting, with parallel and perpendicular directions which cutting and breaking the city pattern. The library interferes with city grid to bring new actives into neighborhood. The performance spaces, library, education, therapy, and community center are flowing through the main site and satellite site. The Library can be seen an overall behavior treatment for enhancing the mood and character of the community, which at the same time produces more active and close relationship between different group of people. translucent solid
In terms of programs, the conventional library spaces are in the main site with therapy spaces for community and performance programs like theater, exhibition, gallery flowing around the main library space. On the satellite site, community center is anchored at the far end of the street, kindergarten, workshop, and different types of landscape for therapy is sitting in between. As the satellite sites have close relationships with main site in terms of programs, the whole street is a continuous active zone to keep people moving from one end to the other.

CONTROLLED DEMOLITION CHINESE GARDEN RE-IMAGINATION individual work/ Luke Pearson This thesis project explores a generative method of architectural form through the matter of force fields that produce spatial division and organizational variation. Some of the free style forms of contemporary architecture or the forms simply created through computational processes. Most of these architectural forms do not have to consider much about the old building, which is before the new one. Nevertheless this thesis is focus on inventing a method of producing architectural forms based on demolishing original buildings. The understanding of demolition in a conventional way is only to destroy buildings, which is not useful any more. This initial form of buildings in one site is assumed to be the data to work with. Buildings will be reconfigured to be new landscape with the power of destroying. This approach is follow the attitudes of some deconstruction architects who desire to accommodate the world with critical ideas of smash, twist, or even destroy. On the other hand, in a pure efficiency driven design process, the designer comes with the form that is only can provide a determined space with a certain dimension This kind of process is not suitable for the continuously changing society, what people need is an organizational variation with dynamics. This thesis posits a programmatic process to achieve this purpose.
demolition simulation
Given the advancements of computational tools, architects are able to design his own tools to evaluate both real demolition and the visual performance that destroyed building can achieve while thinking of the organizational principles of controlled process. This thesis project investigates possibilities that collaboration with the constraints of demolition force fields to generate rules for spatial constrains by developing tis own computational procedures. Topology formation of the landscape, space formations within the topological boundaries, and the aggregation of these tow are the main things of form generating methods being explored throughout this thesis.
13
Controled Demolition The simulation was developed through research into industrial demolition techniques, the placement, strength and material composition of explosive charges, and the morphological procedure that the building subsequently undergo how precise and yet imprecise this process becomes

Traditional Chinese Garden- PLAZA
In traditional Chinese garden, there usually is spacious square inside to get hierarchy of space. Therefore, a sunken plaza is designed with complex to get all rubbles flying away. The conceptual shift from built to unbuilt has been affected altered in the architectrual field over the past few decades. This porject is focus on the stage from abandoned architectrue being torn down to new architectrue being built. The design method of this concept is developed through a series of tests, which provide the possibilities of construction. Therefore, this project could not be named unbuilt, but the buildable unbuilt. It is expect one day, at the time when looking at the idea presented, thinking behind of this project, architectual, cultural, nonmaterial, technological, epistemological and personal, all these creative elements may seen from this dynamic deconstruction & construction project.

City River connecting several neighbourhood is a dominant daily feature of city landscape. The river hold historic and characteristic value and offer a unique natural potential in the dense urban centrer. The area near river is unproductive and undeveloped. Using space and paths design to make this place into a healthy and active ecosystem. Curved red paths can create an image of active urban spaces for people doing exercises and other activities. Bring interconnection and communication to social life through active park. This landscape pursue an irrational phenomenon with entirely rational means.

NODI-NOSI PAVILION DESIGN+MANUFACTURE team work/ Danielle Willems
Russel Wright’s deep connection to Manitoga can be seen throughout many of his subsequent designs, and it is this connection to context that we hope to emulate, with one notable exception. Wright was successful in designing a place that paid homage to the Algonquin giver of life [Gitche Manitou], while our project seeks to pay homage specifically to Nodinosi, the Algonquin spirit of the wind. Our pavilion aims to create a space where the presence of the wind and the environment it flows through becomes amplified through its interaction with the pavilion. Unstained wood allows the weather to exert its influence on the structure as it melds back into the landscape over time. By scoring the wood to allow it to take on otherwise impossible forms, the pavilion provides a different route forward, while still respecting the natural abilities of the material. As a final effect, rippled foam sways in the breeze, visually manifesting the presence of the wind in much the same way the petals of a flower do plied foam sways in the breeze, visually manifesting the presence of the wind in much the same way the petals of a flower do.t
