Vcaddy Launches in 2020 Vcaddy to attend PGA 2020 Merchandise Show ORLANDO, Florida JANUARY 21-24th, 2020 – When Jeff Kuper first approached his brother Greg with the idea of making videos for golf courses, they had no idea the journey they were about to take together. Vcaddy is scheduled to make it’s debut at the 2020 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL (Booth 4208). Greg Kuper is the owner of a Madison, Wisconsin video production company, Public Image Media. His brother, Jeff Kuper, had recently sold his Chicago area medical business of 20 years, Kuper Orthodontic laboratory. Together, they created the original concept of Vcaddy, a system that allows golfers to scan a QR code at each hole of a golf course with their mobile device and instantly gain access to an instructional video of how to best play the hole. The videos show aerial footage of the hole, and also features the course’s very own golf professional(s), who give tips on hazards to avoid, what club to use, and how to play the green; any information the course could offer a golfer to take strokes off and improve their overall game.

Distillery Channel Coffee Journal

“Great customer service is an expectation golfers have of the courses they play. Our Vcaddy system is a great way for a course to provide better customer service by helping make a player’s game better,” said Jeff Kuper. Later, sensing something bigger, the brothers partnered with Ryan Jagdfeld, owner of a website development company in Madison, Wisconsin. The three expanded the original idea to create a Vcaddy system that not only includes video and QR codes located at each hole, but an informational website (vcaddy.com) and an innovative mobile app. “This is just the beginning,” said Jagdfeld, “We will continually make adjustments and improvements to the app and

website as we grow. Our goal is to be the best golf app available. A site and app that no golfer or course will be able to do without.” “Information is something everyone seeks,” said Greg Kuper, “Vcaddy is going to be an information source that golfers will utilize to research courses and more. It will be an industry specific [golf] social media platform and an easy way for a course to communicate with their players. Great customer service drives sales, and it is customer service that will drive golfers to any course that offers the Vcaddy system throughout the country. Players and courses will be able to view the game differently!” To learn more, please visit www.vcaddy.com. LET TER FROM THE EDITOR Happy New Years to all. We are excited about our third issue of “Distillery Channel Coffee Journal”. We want to thank all who sent so many thoughtful and kind notes after our inaugural issue. This third issue is expanded due to the influx of support, our great credentialed media team, and professional writers’ contributions. We have expanded the reach on the ISSUU magazine platform, so you will find major metropolitan areas receiving additional infusions of our magazine through our diverse media/marketing platform. This magazine is supported by our two weekly podcasts, “Happy Hour Lifestyle Show” and “The Next Taste” now on the ten major podcast platforms which are iTunes, Google Play, TUNEIN+Alexa, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Overcast, Pocketcast, Castro, Castbox and Podchaser. We hope you have time to tune in to this vibrant and highly entertaining talk show, which is always clean and joyous in spirit. In today’s digital world, sometimes fluffed with “media spaghetti”, we want to spread the opportunities of travel, photography, golf destinations and highlighting Small Craft Breweries, Distilleries and Wineries with unique missions and personal insights. So, sit back and enjoy a cup of our “Foy Estate Coffee” and a few minutes looking at the pictures from around the world which we spend each month selecting just for you to enjoy. Our editor, Miss Kira, takes great pride in applying her years of professional photography sorting out each issue’s photos. Cheers, Randy Weckerly Publisher

LORETO, Mexico – Former New York Yankees great player and manager Yogi Berra, who may or may not have been a golfer, once described a famous local restaurant in his area in his own unique way. “Nobody goes there any longer, it’s too crowded,” Berra said in his trademark jumble of sayings. At the spectacular new TPC-Danzante Bay near the tiny town of Loreto, Mexico, just the opposite is true. It’s not nearly crowded enough for the outstanding architect Rees Jones 18-hole championship course, which weaves in between local valleys, arroyos, dunes and foothills with a crescendo on the par 3 17th hole overlooking the Sea of Cortez.

The first TPC (Tournament Players Course) licensed by the PGA Tour in Mexico is so good, and so far, not visited nearly enough because it’s not exactly the easiest place to get to. The tiny Mexican culture town of Loreto is the closet village and the namesake of the only commercial airport in the region, with limited flights, located on the east coast of Baja, Mexico. But even that is a 45 minute car or van ride away. But once you arrive on a stunning, world-class site along the east coast of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula near the historic town of Loreto, where Jones has crafted TPC Danzante Bay-a brilliant, multi-themed 18-hole golf course that runs over and through valleys, arroyos, dunes, and foothills.

WOW! The par 72 layout is testament when a talented golf architect, Jones, part of a hugely talented golf architect family, meets a great natural site. The result is golf resort magic, even if it’s not the easily place to get to. The often repeated saying about the only difference between American golf resort Bandon Dunes, Oregon and world links Headquarters Ballyibunion, Ireland is that Ballyibunion is actually easiest to get to. “The PGA Tour approached us about having the first TPC in Mexico,” Perry said. “They thought it had a chance to be something special and we certainly agree. It will continue to grow and get better, and with the course and hotel to start with, will continue to attract people.”

But both have succeeded mightily in their time as must-play golf destinations. That’s what San Diego Businessman Owen Perry, the co-owner of TPC-Danzante Bay, was planning when he opened the course and the resort a year ago with plans for what he feels will be the next great Mexican golf destination in a country that has many.

The remarkable golf course is enveloped in panoramic vistas that show off the natural beauty of the region. From every angle enjoy, striking images of the Islands of Loreto and the surrounding Sierra de la Giganta mountain range. Each hole is an experience as the front nine leaves you entranced with exquisite views and the back nine increase the drama with cliff holes that hang over the Sea of Cortez and Danzante Bay.

The first tip off for a great round to come is the large driving range set facing a huge Mountain Canyon. While most places offer a range solely for warm-up purposes or to mindlessly beat balls to kill sometimes in your schedule, it’s easy to be distracted here with the surroundings and beauty to come. The course starts out plainly enough with a par 4 over sand and water, but it gets very interesting an a hurry. The green of the par 5 second hole sits at the bottom of a 200-foot arroyo. TPC Danzante Bay is a prime amenity for guests and homeowners at Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa, a full-service destination resort community that shares its property with the Loreto golf course. While the hotel has all amenities you would expect, a huge resort pool, nice-size Sabila Spa and store for all your trip necessities and beach items, the real amenity and draw is right next door with the golf course and green grass putting course Jones designed to sharpen your game.

The third hole, a par 3 sits with huge mountains on the right and a dramatic bluff on the left. But by the time you reach the par 4 fourth hole, you’re in the middle of the surrounding Sierra de la Giganta Mountains which can take your breath away, From then, it’s just great hole after great hole, spectacular setting after spectacular setting. Water is a predominate theme at the beginning of the back nine which begins near the clubhouse and offers a brief repast from all the golfing eye candy.

You can see the first three or four holes from the clubhouse with water, sand and mountain in the backdrop. The 14th hole begins a steady uphill climb to the spectacular course finish. The next three holes, including the short and strategic are 4 16th hole plays uphill. But the ultimate payoff comes when you drive your cart up the steep path to find the tee box for the par 3 17th. In short, the perfect short hole layout for ultimate success or failure is the 18th a long par 5 which tumbles all the way back to the clubhouse, where you’re likely to rush to check the photos on your camera or to see when the next tee time is. While the saying, you can’t get there from here might have some truth to it, the effort to try and succeed will be greatly rewarded. The future will bring more flights, more houses and more people. Yet to see TPC-Danzante Bay in its most natural state is certainly a journey worth taking. Jones designed the hole, which plays 165 yards from the back tees, with the green shifted to the left, literally hugging the rocks with the Danzante Bay and the Sea of Cortez hundreds of feet below. Anything left of green is gone to a watery grave. Anything right of green is lost in the huge rock formations. Anything short can be snared by the bunker which rings the putting surface and is long gone as well.

Chef Dave Trevelino of The TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm once again hosted his “Butcher Block Holiday Party” on November 11, 2019. This marked Chef Dave’s sixth year of delivering his culinary talents to one of our country’s nuclear submarines is his family’s and his club members evening of fund-raising to kick off the holiday season. Christmas 2019 will find Chef Dave and his wife Linda traveling to Guam to cook Christmas dinner in the galley of one of our nuclear subs in dock. Chef Dave raises all of the money needed through this Annual Butcher Block Holiday party. This year between $75,000 to $100,000 was raised. Miss Kira, Editor of this Magazine and myself, once again drove from Wisconsin to Potomac with a carload of our contributions for the auction.

Chef Dave’s assistant, Kassie, effortlessly checked in each attendee, including an extra 75 attendees that were a surprise on the evening of the event. Banners from the USS Chicago signed by the Navy sailors from past events, highlighted the red, white and blue décor for the evening.

Distillery Channel Coffee Journal

The first auction item was a Kendall Jackson Winery Trip in Napa,California and several visits personally escorted and contributed by Jackson Family Wines. What better way to start the evening than have a group of 4 couples plan their California vineyard and dining trip. An endless ring of silent auction items bordered the corridor leading to the dining room as members entered the Club. By nights’ end, all items were sold, and Chef Dave could now rest easy knowing once again he will be flying to Guam on December 17th to feed the sailors who remain on watch for our country and can’t go home for the holidays.

73

It was stated by all in attendance, that this event is the highlight of the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farms yearly events. Congrats to Chef Dave and God Bless our sailors during this holiday season.
