Employees help sick children
T
HE Sequence UK estate agency network, of which Jones and Chapman in Bebington is part, has raised £13,849.12 for CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading charity for children and young people with cancer and their families.
Staff from across the UK took part in a number of fundraising events throughout last year, ranging from gruelling challenges such as triathlons, participating in the Paris Marathon and 100-mile cycle rides to cake sales, festive fun events, raffles, tombolas, plus much more. Presenting the cheque to CLIC Sargent fundraising manager Claire Shovelton, Sequence CEO David Plumtree
said: “We are delighted to have been supporting CLIC Sargent for over 10 years. It is pleasing to see staff continuing to get involved in fundraising events to raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause, which relies solely on voluntary donations. We look forward to continuing to support CLIC Sargent in the future.” Since 2001 Sequence UK has raised more than £340,000 for CLIC Sargent, and there are plans in place for the estate agency group to raise further funds and awareness in 2012. Claire Shovelton commented: “On behalf of CLIC Sargent I would like to say an enormous thank you to Sequence UK employees for their continued support. As a charity, we rely on the generosity
and support of local businesses, individuals and families to continue our work supporting the 10 families who every day are told their child has cancer. “CLIC Sargent provides clinical, practical and emotional support to help families cope with cancer and get the most out of life, and this donation of more than £13,800 will really help make a difference. “For example, it could fund a CLIC Sargent nurse for threeand-a-half months. CLIC Sargent nurses provide specialist care in hospital and in the community. Having a nurse visit at home or school to take blood or change dressings means less disruption to a family’s everyday life.”
