WELCOME It hardly seems possible that we’re already midway through the year and eagerly anticipating an exciting mixed bag of events, exhibitions and services. A highlight this season is Treasured, a poetic narrative retelling the Titanic story. Combining live and recorded music with film and aerial theatre in a multimedia theatrical event. Treasured is just one highlight in another diverse programme. We have concerts, recitals, family activities and exhibitions, offering an ideal excuse for anyone who wants to visit. Also, why not take part in our Photo Competition over the summer? This year we’re asking you to capture the character of the city with our Liverpool Life themed competition. With more events being added, the best way to keep up to date is by checking our website, Facebook and Twitter feeds (see page 11). Liverpool Cathedral is a thriving place. Open daily for visitors with the popular Tower Attraction and audio tour, our reflective Awesome and Intimate trail alongside two liverpoolcathedral.org.uk
relaxing places to meet and eat, the Cathedral provides ample opportunity for a full day out. Our informative guides and friendly welcome for all will ensure that you have a truly memorable visit. Liverpool Cathedral remains a spiritual heartbeat for the city. A place where you can encounter God through private prayer and public worship. CATHEDRAL SHOP OFFERS ‘With My Whole Heart’ James Jones Special price of £7.99 ‘...reads like a letter from a friend’ As Bishop James Jones waited for his heart operation and began to recover from it, he had the Psalms with him day and night. Inviting the reader to make a new relationship with the Psalms the Bishop reflects on the 70 times the word heart appears.
‘How God Became King’ Tom Wright Special price of £11.99 ‘Indescribable, brilliant...’ Tom Wright leads us, intelligently and graciously to seeing the new reality of the gospel story; one that is so explosive that the church in many generations has found it too much to take and so has watered it down rather than allowing its full impact to be felt.
