WHAT WE DO
We help you... Become part of the student community: We can help to link you with other LJMU students that share the same interests as you, a great way to make friends and get to know this great city. We want you to know and love Liverpool as much as we do, so we’ve created a calendar of events for you to enjoy in the best venues across the city. We run 100+ clubs and societies for you to explore and join, so whether you’re in to cycling, want to try your hand at photography or you want to meet other students of your faith, there is a group for you. See our current list of student groups on our website.

Do the best you can on your course: We have an entire support service dedicated to making sure you achieve the best you can on your course, by working with LJMU to improve everyone’s academic experience. If you ever need some impartial, independent advice, we’re here. Find out more on our website.
www.liverpoolsu.com/advice Improve the student experience: We’re your link to the university, which means if you want to see something change, we’ll help make it happen. We have a simple online feedback tool where you can give feedback about anything and everything 24/7, and we hold elections every year for paid student officer posts that make change happen in the university.
HOW YOU CAN FIND US . . . We are where you are. Our main reception, offices and advice centre is in the John Foster Building and our awesome new social spaces are at John Foster, Byrom Street, Redmonds, Tithebarn Street, IM Marsh, and the John Lennon Art & Design Building.
YOUR STUDENT OFFICERS .
Student Unions are completely led by students, and this starts at the very top. Each spring, the Student Officer team are voted in by LJMU students. We’re led by four Student Officers who all graduated from LJMU last year!
Say hello to your President & three Vice Presidents YASMIN IBRAHIM PRESIDENT My name is Yasmin Ibrahim, I am a graduate in psychology, and I am President at LiverpoolSU. My job is to oversee the Student Officer team and be the main point of contact between the Students’ Union and the university. Fun Fact: One fun fact about me is I can speak three languages!
RACHAEL SMART VICE PRESIDENT Activities I am Rachael and I’ve just graduated from LJMU after three years studying Drama. My role in the Students’ Union is to help you, the students of LJMU, enjoy your time at university by helping you find the right society or club for you. This can be anything from a sports team, volunteering in an existing society to starting your own. Fun fact: Alongside my studies I have been working at the Everyman theatre which has been amazing!
HOWISHA CHARLERY vP community engagement My name is Howisha Charlery, I am a graduate in Sport & Exercise Science. I am Vice President Community Engagement at LiverpoolSU. My job is to raise awareness of issues that students face within the community, and to campaign on issues like health and wellbeing to help LJMU students feel happy and confident. Fun Fact: I have a mad love for elephants and I have adopted two that are based in Kenya. They are a mother and calf called Emily-Kate and Ewok.
ANGELINA CLIFF vp academic quality I’m a Drama and Creative Writing graduate from Stoke-on-Trent. I am your Vice President Academic Quality. I work to make teaching, learning and resources better for LJMU students, by collecting your opinions and being your voice on all of the educational aspects within the university. Fun fact: I was once in a shop in Greece and given what looked like a sweet. Once it was in my mouth, I suddenly realised that it wasn’t a sweet, but a small bar of soap instead. I was too embarrassed to spit it out and admit what I’d done, so I stood there and painfully ate the entire thing.
THINGS TO DO BEFORE YOU arrive Just a few things we strongly recommend you do before you arrive at university: 1.

3.
If clubbing is your thing, grab your Freshers’ Fest wristband before they all go.
