Welcome to the 28th Annual Transcon Advantage Bull Sale!

This sale has been running for nearly three decades so you can buy with confidence. It’s great to watch cattle prices jump as 2023 gets underway, and the optimism in the cattle industry seems incredible this season. This is a great time to improve your bull battery or to add that backup bull to your program with record high prices on the horizon. The Advantage sale is a great place to get that done!

Expect to find a set of bulls that are brought along slowly to ensure your bull has the ability to last in your program. That longevity will definitely increase your profit margins, something we all strive for. You will find a great selection of calving ease and power bulls in both the Simmental and Charolais sections. This is one of the few sales where we offer both great breeds on the same day!

If you are looking to purchase your bulls from hard working, honest people then plan to attend this sale. You will be extremely happy that you did!

Terms&Conditions

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.

BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.

US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.

CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the respon-

sibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

This bull may be as good an all-around prospect as we have. The bull is solid from front to back with all the attributes we all look for, length, depth, thickness, correctness. He has a lot of maternal strength in his lineage so both male and female progeny will be high quality. One to look for at the sale.

Another Arsenal, another high-quality beef bull. Dark red with a ton of hair. A moderate birth weight from a good dam by Bootjack and going back to Springcreek Ted 41U who left us a whole lot of great females that you see in the back ground of a large percentage of our herd. This bull has a tremendous amount of potential.

This Foundation 11F son has always been a pen favorite, for good reason. He is about as much of a beef bull as you’ll find. Very deep with a big wide top and plenty of length. His Arsenal dam is part of the high performance and prolific 13M cow family that has produced many, many bulls for this sale. You’ll look long and hard to find a better one.

Just a mid March bull but he gives up nothing to the older bulls in the offering. From the first calf crop from Crossroad Pillar 24H and a first calf Axel daughter, he is an excellent prospect. He is real soggy with a good quarter, lots of hair and pigmentation everywhere, including his dark feet. This bull comes from a good cow family that all have great udders and we think he has unlimited potential as a herd sire. Be sure to look him up.

A good dark red son of our Lieutenant 70G herd sire. He has a touch less frame than some of the other bulls in our offering but he packs a lot of beef in all the right places. You have to admire his length, abundant thickness, nice head, and beautiful thick hair. His good young Arsenal dam is out of the dam of GGS 36K who is also in the sale, once again proving the importance we place on cow families. This bull will really work for someone trying to inject some beefiness in to their herd while maintaining all the maternal strength.

Welcome to the 28th Annual Transcon “Advantage” Bull Sale.

Lazy Bar-B Simmentals have been at this for a long time and we continually strive to provide you with a herd sire that will fit your needs. Please feel free to ask us about our herd sire prospects. We have a “no-nonsense” culling program at Lazy Bar- B. If cows don’t produce they are culled. If they calve late, they are culled. If they have a less-than-ideal udder, they are culled. Our cows are strictly fed hay (no grain), and these bulls aren’t creep fed. They have to “make” the bullpen on milk and grass alone. What you see today is the result of genetics at work.
