The Cody Sibbald Legacy Classic was established to honor the memory of Cody Sibbald, an extraordinary young man that had passion for agriculture and the outdoors. Cody was active in the 4-H and Junior Beef programs. His positive attitude was electric and inspiring to many around him. The Legacy Classic is a non-profit, charity that provides educational scholarships to youth with an agriculture focus. $20,000 in scholarships will be awarded annually to youth across Canada that exemplify a passion for agriculture, just like Cody did. The Legacy Classic program is open to youth 21 years and younger that want to exhibit beef cattle, compete in various beef competitions and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. The event is held every March in Medicine Hat, Alberta. This year’s event will be host to 125 youth and 165 head of cattle. We are full to capacity. New this year is the Kemp Family Scholariship, bringing awareness to mental health. Sponsorship is an integral part of preserving the Legacy Classic program for future generations. The Cody Sibbald Legacy Classic Committee would like to thank each and every sponsor and all the volunteers for their contribution to the event. Without you, there would not be an event.

The Vision:
The Cody Sibbald Legacy Classic’s vision is to serve and promote youth in agriculture in memory of an inspiring, fun loving young man that was passionate about ranching!

2019 Cody Sibbald Legacy Classic Essay Scholarship Finalists My name is Jackson Goudy. I am 17 years old and currently in grade 12 in Stoughton Central School. I grew up on a large cow calf operation. Agriculture is a big part of my life and is something that I am very passionate about. I enjoy being part of the beef industry and look forward to the future it holds for me. When I am not part of the farm or school, I am playing sports. I’ve made It to the provincial level in cross country and track. I am currently playing basketball and training for pole vault in Regina. I have been accepted to the University of Saskatchewan into the Department of Animal Bioscience.
Koralie Huber is a smart, talented, and organized grade twelve student who currently attends McLurg High School in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. She occupies most of her free time being involved in the 4-H program, where she is currently the president and enrolled in the 4-H beef project. The rest of her time is spent in the wrestling room at McLurg High School, where she builds her confidence and self determination in the sport of wrestling and in her everyday life. When ever she can find time, she also manages to “squeak in” as much volunteerism as possible. Her small-town attitude and work ethic make her personable and reliable on all her adventures and tasks in life. My name is Bronwynn Frenzel, I am from Magrath Alberta where I grew up on a mixed grain and cattle farm. I am currently in my first year at Lakeland College, and I will be obtaining a diploma in Animal Science Technology. After I finish my two years in Vermilion, I plan to attend University to get my degree in Animal Science. Outside of school I was heavily involved in 4-H, competitive horse show jumping, attending junior cattle shows, clinics and conferences, and helped my family on the farm. I also worked part time at a décor and coffee shop. All of these roles have shaped me into a well rounded individual with a passion for agriculture, and also given me the ability to appreciate situations from different aspects. Through these life experiences I have obtained many skills, such as, public speaking, customer service, teamwork, goal setting, time management and leadership. I look forward to growing as an individual, achieving more skills, and to continue my schooling so that I can make an impact on the agricultural industry. My name is Jillian Klys, I am 17 years old and I am a current graduate from Cremona. I have been actively involved in beef 4H for the past 9 years, where I have served as president for the past 2. I am also key member for the Mountain View 4H district. When I am not doing 4H I am at my local hospital volunteering in their long term care. My plan for when I graduate is to go to university to get my bachelors degree in nursing.
I am a third year student at the University of Lethbridge, currently pursuing a degree in Management, with a Major in Accounting. I have a passion for agriculture and hope to continue involvement with my families farming operation, after my graduation from University. I enjoy being in the outdoors and working with show cattle, alongside my family.
