Welcome to our 7th Annual Bull and Female Sale!
WOW… 25 years of selling bulls!! Crazy to think of how quickly it has flown by. There are a couple of things that have remained the same over the years. First off is the appreciation for the many relationships and friendships we have built within this great cattle industry. Secondly is our vision of what we want out of our cow herd and the connection with the commercial market to help optimize profitability in our bull buyers bottom line through the use of JNR genetics.
We are in an era of great times in the cattle industry with record setting prices and the quality of cattle produced just keeps improving as the years pass. I’ve said for the past few years that the people that are in the cattle industry today are in it for the love of cattle and are extremely serious about the business. The past 3 years the heavier more performance oriented calves/heavyweights are fetching a premium. The extra investment it may take to own that “special one” you’ve selected with more performance will reap the benefits with return on that investment.
We have decided to add two momentous lots for this milestone in our bull sale career. Two semen lots will be offered on choice on bulls that have helped mold our cow herd. MFI Bam Bam and JNR Boulder are the only 2 bulls we have drawn qualified semen on in the past 15 years. The second unique offering for this occasion is a pick of the entire JNR solely owned cow herd to flush. We have never opened our herd for anyone to walk in and buy or flush anything from our our herd. We have maintained the philosophy that we will not sell the future of our cow herd for short term financial benefit and there fore once females were on the list to stay in herd that’s where they stayed exclusively.
There are so many to thank over the past 25 years in this great business. First I’d like to thank Nicole for walking beside me and being the backbone to help execute and make this dream a reality. I can’t thank her enough for the endless hours she spends keeping all this together whether it be doing all the paperwork or sitting in the swather or combine during harvest among all the irons we have in the fire. Our kids, Regan who takes off a lot of time from welding to help with feeding, running air drill in the spring, packing silage, all the clipping of the sale animals and the list goes on. It means the world to us to have him helping. Rayanna for fitting us into her University and work life to help with videos and picturing along with the “big” cattle days throughout the year and running many of our city errands. As well of course both Kate and Konnor for all their help throughout the year along side Regan and Rayanna.
Some very important people along the way include Art, Jean and Doug McDermand for the chance of a lifetime when they put their trust into Nicole and I at a young age with the private purchase of their cow herd 25 years ago, coming to an agreement over Mrs. McDermands peach and cherry pie.
Thank you to everyone at Transcon Livestock for being beside us every step of our journey in getting here. Glen especially for his tours and pasture talks and patient persistence to sell bulls publicly after just selling 1 or 2 of the “special ones” at Equation for a few years he insisted we could get better value for our top 4-6 bulls at the Red Deer Bull sale starting in 2016. After getting comfortable with that Glen was subtly adamant that we had the quality and numbers to “do our own thing” where we could showcase our entire pen that we had previously been selling privately up to 2019.
Thank you to the whole Jamieson Family for supplying the commercial heifers again this year. The group as a whole is very strong and quiet as can be. Feel free to talk to any one of the family Tom, Terri, Mason, Ivy or Claire about any of the heifers as they all are actively involved. A truly inclusively family run farm.
There are many more to thank and we appreciate everyone including our valued, loyal friends and customers for trusting in our program to help with your success. Once again Thank you!!
Sincerely,
Jerry, Nicole, Regan & Rayanna Repka JNR Farms | RR1 | Willingdon, AB
It is with great anticipation that I welcome you to the 7th Annual JNR Farms Bull and Female sale and the Repka’s 25th Anniversary of selling Fleckvieh bulls. They have offered two feature lots this year that you don’t want to miss. If you haven’t attended in the past, prepare yourself to see a set of powerful Fleckvieh bulls along with unmatched hospitality from the Repka’s!
In my mind the JNR cowherd is one that needs to be seen in the summer grazing months to truly be appreciated. In my summer travels this is consistently one of the most impressive tours. The mother cows are not pampered in small pastures. They are required to cover large pastures with an abundance of bush and are expected to successfully bring in a big calf. No creep feed is provided so you can truly appreciate what the JNR cow and calf can produce on grass and milk.
Countless hours of planning go into the genetic matings at JNR, strategically blending polled and horned genetics while maintaining the 100% Fleckvieh status. Attention to detail is second to none at JNR Farms, so expect these genetics to push your program to the forefront of the cattle industry. Many great cattle in the business carry the JNR prefix, this is your opportunity to dig in and own one for your program.
This year’s bull pen has a wide variety of polled and horned herd sire prospects with some great sire groups. JNR Barbarian sons (6 of them) are a very heavy muscled, soft made group with a couple of powerhouse polled bulls in the group. Barbarian was the high selling phenom from the 2023 bull sale! Parallel to the Barbarian sons, you will find a great selection in each sire group of great colored bulls with awesome hair coats, and a ton of muscle shape to them. This pen of bulls has something for everyone. From powerhouse cow bulls to polled heifer bull prospects that should create a ton of interest! The depth of quality in this pen of bulls is exceptional. It will be very easy to build a list of elite bulls that fit anyone’s needs.
Lot 56 is a very exciting opportunity to secure a semen package on Bam Bam or Boulder. Semen on these herd sires is rarely made available. This is a chance to put your next flush into elite status.
As a sale feature, Jerry and Nicole have opened the herd for a Pick of the Herd Flush. The maternal power that is available is truly remarkable! Note, the outstanding cow pictures in the catalog, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Their entire cowherd is phenomenal with many cows to choose from. The buyer will have 1 year from purchase to make their choice, allowing lots of time to research and make your selection. I truly believe this is an unmatched genetic opportunity!
To top off the sale, the Repka’s have offered 10 heifers that carry that “mamma cow” look to them. The strongest group to date from top to bottom, it’s very hard to just pick one. The genetic makeup in this group will make some top matron females to move any program into an elite level.
As tradition has it, we will wrap things up with Tom & Terri Jamiesons pens of commercial heifers. Every year they are very sought after and it’s hard to guess in today’s market where these outstanding heifers land. This is a great chance to pick up a uniform set of commercial heifers from some great people.
Kick off bull sale season by joining us in celebrating JNR’s 25 years of commitment to Fleckvieh genetics on Feb 15th at the farm. Remember the best buying value happens every year at the start of bull sale season and the quality will not disappoint. Following the sale let Jerry carve you a slice of the best prime rib you have ever tasted!
Give any of the Transcon team a call if you require any assistance, we are here to assist in your herd bull and heifer search.
For the Repka’s, Glenn Norton

J NR FARM S
Thank you, Jerry and Nicole, for the privilege to introduce this monumental offer from the JNR Farms Fleckvieh program. Built from the ground up, JNR has persistently focused on a true breeding program. Being a BREEDER is far more intricate, risky, gruelling, and frustrating than being a MULTIPLIER. Jerry and Nicole are the epitome of true BREEDER status and a dynamic duo. From the beginning, a studious and open-minded approach to assemble the type and kind of cow herd that would ultimately create a “model JNR” consistency. We all know the JNR prefix has substance and is admired amongst the industry. The hours of research. The vision of matings to compliment the next generations as always, with a knowledge of genetics and clear goals. This herd of 100% Fleckvieh Fullblood Simmental females is incredible. Stacked, stacked, and re stacked cow families are woven in every generation. The evolution of JNR Farms is nothing short of impressive, made possible through hard work, harder work, and integrity. I am proud to have witnessed, partnered with, and spent countless hours in discussion over the last 25 years.
JNR Fundamentals:
- 100% Fleckvieh – One of the largest herds in North America
- Herd of 300+ breeding females
- Polled and horned genetics
- Genetic consistency with JNR herd sires and proven cow families
- Access to exclusive JNR semen inventory for this flush!!
Congratulations in this epic achievement. Thanks for “opening the door” for the world to appreciate the JNR Farms brand.
Proudly and respectfully submitted,
Brian Valentine

Commercial Heifers consigned by Tom & Terri Jamieson & Family
Welcome to the 7th annual JNR sale. Congratulations to the Repka Family for Celebrating 25 years of selling bulls. We would like to say thank you to Jerry and Nicole for inviting us back for a 5th year. As always Jerry and Nicole picked a good group of heifers that are difficult to part with but showcase our program well. We bring a selection of reds and blacks sired by JNR bulls coming from cows with strong maternal backgrounds. All the heifers are on a full herd health program and have been palpated prior to the sale. These ladies are as quiet as can be because of all the hard work and time that our kids put into our cow herd. A big thanks to our herdsmen Claire, Ivy and Mason who walk through the herd doing wellness checks, help with calving and day to day chores. They are a vital part of our family farm. Thanks to all our previous buyers and bidders who have purchased our females in the past sales. Phone - 780-206-7557
Thank You To All of our Past Buyers and Bidders. We appreciate the support! Please join us sale day for a Prime Rib Supper following the sale!
