Welcome to Transcon’s Annual Peace Country Bull Sale!

This annual event has become a staple in the North for the diversity of its offering. Each year we sell bulls with extra age, Polled and horned FBs, along with Reds and Blacks! Truly a Bull for every program. This early season sale truly offers exceptional value! Tri K Cattle Co has again raised the bar this year, with an even stronger set of bulls than last year. Keith and Keiran have truly focused on strengthening their program purchasing elite herdsires and females the last number of years. You can see it by how strong the pen is from top to bottom! The last number of years there have been breeder bulls in this group, you will find afew again this year, take a look! I found a few I really thought highly of! Albrecht Simmentals has consistently been bringing out a set of sound functional bulls. Ryan was off to the Peace Country Bull Congress with a very strong Red Blaze face Bull, I’m sure he had a ton of interest. Check out their long yearling bull, solid black and very interesting! O Double E Simmentals has a smaller group of long yearlings this year, many will be polled. There’s lots of longevity in this set of bulls. New to the sale this year is Willowdale Simmentals. Dale and Judy have been selling bulls in the Peace for many years, expect the same quality as always. Grimm Ranches and KMR Simmentals round out this group, each with a couple solid bulls. Hello and welcome to another edition of Transcon’s Peace Country Simmental Bull Sale. We would like to thank all of our past customers for your continued support of our program. We would also like to thank the programs that purchased our females this fall from the Camrose County Classic Sale, as it was our first time as a consignor. Our bull pen is deep in quality this year, we are very proud of the direction our herd is going. We have performance and calving ease bulls in each coat color to suit each individual’s needs. 2019 has been a trying year for everyone involved in the agricultural industry. What started with -40 for 3 weeks straight in February turned to no rain for some or never ending rain for others. While feed was abundant for most, I think it would be fair to say hay quality may have been down. With some political flexing on our grain markets, the inability to get the crop off made for some frustrating times. For me personally, it was nice after driving by our canola fields covered in snow in October to get to the pastures to see the calves alongside their mothers doing great. The cow calf operations were the silver lining to a frustrating year. Cheers to a better year in 2020 (Minus 40 again for the last week as I write this…….) In our efforts of acquiring some of the top walking herd bulls, we are very pleased to showcase our first sons off our Perks Kill Switch, a bull we purhcased out of Manitoba. He is everything the beef industry is about in terms of siring thick made, soggy, easy doing kind of cattle. His sons will be easily liked by cattleman come sale day. Our anchor, MRL Matrix, has a couple sons that we come to expect from him; we can’t talk enough about what Matrix has done for our program in siring highly functional and attractive bulls and heifers. His females, we have retained, are some of the nicest cows we have and they can really produce. Matrix himself has been a very reliable breeding bull for us settling over 30 head of cows each breeding season. However, we tried to collect semen on him this summer but had a scrotal injury from fighting with the other bulls when pulled. So, we weren’t able to successfully freeze any semen. We are going to try again this spring but to be safe we are reserving the right to collect some semen on our Lot 1 bull to carry on the influence. Lot 1 KKH Paramount may be the best son we have had out of Matrix and feel he will have the ability to produce like his sire. Other Matrix sons have gone out and done great for their new owners and we feel the consistency of a pedigree is something you cannot pass up injecting into your herd. We have a handful of Carisma sons that all have the calving ease build with performance that he is known for. Other sires include Cash, Sleep Easy, Specialist, Expedition, Denali, High Roller, and Eddy. We have been incorporating the use of AI to broaden our genetic options.

Bulls will have poll testing done and the blacks will have coat color testing done as well. Please feel free to give Dad or I a call with any questions within our offering. We strongly recommend coming to see the bulls and their dams at home before the sale, with some built up cow families over the years it’s nice to see not only the dams of the bulls, but many of the sisters working in the herd as well. All bulls are semen tested and guaranteed; if any problems arise please do not hesitate to call us. We have spare bulls and your cows will get bred! Homo Polled Here is a pretty fitting bull to take our lead off spot in the bull offering. Not surprising the “King” of the pen is a Matrix son and one we chose to start off our sale offering with. Paramount is a bull we feel has got all the bells and whistles to be a great breeding bull. He combines size, shape, cherry red color, nice dark feet and a quiet disposition. This bull has had a look to him since we tagged him in the barn at a day of age. His mom is a big performance cow with a great udder. She has raised top end progeny from the start, her first calf was the high selling bull in our 2017 sale, the next year she raised our top Matrix son in our 2018 sale but, sadly got an eye injury before the sale. Her third calf is one of our top bred heifers we are eagerly waiting to calve, and then Paramount. 3 years in a row crossed with Matrix has been a potent combination. Homo Polled What a way to start into our Perks Killswitch sired calves. Another bull we are really high on and are proud to have raised. Eclipse carries a nice 98lb BW with a 940lb weaning weight. Heavy muscled, extremely deep bodied, soggy, tons of hair and a huge scrotal. He has a real presence and character to him that I feel is really important in a herd bull. Another no miss Chevalier daughter who had a real feature black bull in last years sale and an awesome 2nd calver who like her mother has an exceptional udder. Homo Polled Perks Killswitch did a good job in his first year of breeding. We only give yearlings a handful of registered cows the first year to see how they work but, seeing the calves now he will get heavy usage in the 2020 breeding season. Much like the bulls, the heifers sired by him are at the top of the pen. 65G is a true beef performance bull. Big bodied and lots of muscle, but still soft made. Easy to look at and should sire one soggy bunch of steers.

Hetero Polled Captive is another bull we have been watching closely since birth. He is easily noticed out in the pen by his sharp profile or the fact that he is standing beside you waiting for a scratch. Big boned, deep hipped and the nice white face that sets the Simmental cattle apart at the auction markets. A bull we would duplicate to have a pen of. His mother is a wicked producing cow from the Maxwells who has sent bulls to Bob & Alice Maas, Westfork Farms, and raised a very nice Matrix heifer ready to calve any day now. Carisma was used on heifers for 3 years so last year we used him in a group of cows and this is the result. Hetero Polled If calving ease is high on your herd bull priority then take a look at this guy. Small headed, smooth shouldered and long, this guy is going to offer some trouble free calving. A nice red baldy out of our new walking heifer bull KKH Specialist. We had great success on heifers with him the first year, they come out small and have adequate growth. Being out of a Fullblood cow should make this guy pretty versatile in a mixed cow herd.

Homo Polled This will be our 3rd calf crop from Circle G Cash. A proven red heifer bull that seems to cross really well with our females. When a heifer can wean off a 922lb calf it is something worth noting. The curve bending traits of easy calving with heavier weaning weights is something hard to achieve but so far Cash is one of the bulls doing it for us. 29G has got some frame to him and will make for a pretty nice herd bull as he matures. Check out his performance EPDs 82.9 WW and a impressive 128.4 YW.

Our program emphasizes in using quality genetics that breeds for soundness, temperament, udder quality and longevity in the rugged terrain we live in. Our bull sale offering this year consists of 8 reds and 4 black bulls all out of highly functioning cows from proven genetics. We have a good mix of bulls coming from our walking herd sires along with some breed leading AI sires. Blue Chip 9D was the $80,000 high selling bull out of the 2017 Pursuit of Perfection Bull Sale and is a direct son of the maternal powerhouse Spring Creek Liner 56U. Where to start with RST 7G… he’s deep bodied, has tremendous length of spine, great hair, has a big round hip, a big square foot and is sound as can be when he gets out and moves. To top it all off he has the sought-after blazed face for today’s cattle industry. When we purchased a Blue Chip semen pack from the New Years Resolution Sale we were hoping that we would get a few red baldies but not every single calf! Blue Chip can really stamp them, and I believe that will be the case with RST 11G. Gerrald is the power house of the four Blue Chip sons tipping the scale at 1130 lbs when he was weaned in early October. RST 11G is dark red, long bodied, great haired, has a big scrotal and is out of foundation cow. RST Avery 19A is the type of cow to build your herd around! She’s long bodied, deep sided, has perfect feet, a good udder and can produce. Hetero Polled/Black Heifer bull Alert! RST 13G is the result of a new black blazed face CE sire we used named SSC Shell Shocked 44B. RST 13G came out at 76lbs and exploded through the summer. He’s wide topped, big hipped and has great hair. Through his front third he becomes very angular with nice neck extension and a small head. His dam RST Erica 3E moved into our flush program this spring and we our extremely thrilled with her calves that have hit the ground in 2020. They are dark red, stout and have the look! Homo Polled/Hetero Black Due to an untimely cold snap in February that wouldn’t end RST 17G is the only bull calf out of our new walking herdsire WLB Bull 491E. WLB 491E is a Bounty Hunter son we selected from the respected WLB program in Douglas Manitoba and was a feature CE prospect from one of their most sought-after cow families. WLB 491E was used in our heifer pen and on a few select power cows. RST 17G is the result of one of those power cows. He’s solid black, wide topped, big scrotal, deep quartered and you’ll have to put on a lot of miles to find a bull that’s longer. His dam was purchased from the Rainalta dispersal and produces one of the biggest calves come fall. RST 17G weighed in at 1110lbs at the beginning of October.

Homo Polled Here’s a bull that will be less than a year old come sale day but has no troubles fitting in. RST 36G is cherry red, deep sided, smooth made and is backed by an awesome cow. Zinnia is a direct daughter out of the great CE sire Hooks Shear Force. She’s easy doing, big ribbed, heavy milking and has great feet. This is the 4th time this mating has worked. We currently have both daughters working in our herd and her other son was a feature bull in our 2018 sale going to Jim Peel of Bezanson. RST Grey is above the breed avg in CE and BW. Our extra age bull this year comes from a great SHS Enticer cow. RST 42F is solid black, stout, deep sided and has a nice big foot. His dam RST 8A is an ideal cow and right for todays cattle industry. She’s big barreled, deep quartered, great footed and has a nice udder. Foster has a maternally stacked pedigree and should sire some outstanding replacement heifers. Mr. Finn is a triple polled, fullblood bull that stands on great legs, feet and is quiet, quiet, quiet.

His polled genetics on his dam’s side includes the Anchor D Venom bull. With his length, smoothness and an 84 lb BW, he would be a great heifer bull prospect. As well, his offspring could even end up as those strong buckskin calves we all see going through the market in the fall with his tan coloring.

Mr. Fonzy is a one of those strong, rugged full blood bulls with a great temperament, and the fancy Simmental traits to boot. Terms & Conditions

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, VISA, Mastercard, or Interac, payable at par at sale location. There will be a 3% administration fee on all VISA or Mastercard purchases applied to the buyer’s invoice. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BID - Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association. SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors. or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale. IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations, neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties, and any legal action that may, in exceptional cases, be taken, must be between buyer and seller.
