Willowdale Simmentals has stepped up this year with a larger group of red and black Simmental bulls. These bulls are soft made soggy bulls with great haircoats. They are developed at a very modest level to ensure longevity for their new owners. Dale has a wide variety of genetics in his group featuring sons of his 2 walking herdsires from Spring Creek Simmentals. This will be a very consistent group and your list should be long as the groups uniformity is outstanding. This year the Smiths are also selling a great set of high end heifers, don’t miss these outstanding heifers!

KMR Simmentals is operated by Kent, Robin and family. Take the time to have a visit, you may just find your next heifer bull in this group.

This will be Short Grass Farms first Bull sale and what a nice set of coming 2-yr-old bulls they have! Welcome from Willowdale Simmentals

We are pleased to be part of the Peace Country Simmental Sale. Our goal continues to be to provide quality Simmental breeding stock that is easy calving, polled and growthy.

We have a great selection of homozygous polled, red and black Simmental bulls. Also offered for sale are 15 open yearling heifers.

Our feeding program has not changed a lot over the years. We like to grow our bulls on mainly a forage diet, giving them a better chance at longevity. Fortunately we had rain late in the summer and were able to get a nice crop of second cut alfalfa hay. Bulls and heifers have been getting 18% Crude Protein second cut alfalfa hay with a mixture of rolled oats and wheat at 1% body weight plus a Bullseye pellet supplement.

We have a comprehensive herd health program, starting when the calves are born. All bulls are semen tested and guaranteed to be breeders. For more information contact Dale or Kent. We look forward to helping you with your bull selection.

Most of the sale animals are sired by our three walking sires:

Spring Creek Redford 55 - This is a blaze face, dark red, easy calving herd sire adds lots of maternal value to our herd. He has very correct legs with a big foot.

Spring Creek Eastwood 73G - This smooth, dark red bull, was originally bought as a heifer bull. He crosses well on the large framed cows. Progeny is super smooth.

KWA Statement 31J - Our newest herd bull, to add more growth potential to the calves. He is a son of MRL Statement, who adds calving ease with the deep bodied soggy look. Statement’s dam, W21, has been a proven matron in the Simmental breed.

This young bull is one of our high performers. He has performed very well since weaning, with an ADG of 3.64/ day. Our bulls are not pushed on a high grain diet. Their grain ration is1% live weight plus free choice second cut alfalfa, grass hay and a Bullseye mineral pellet. 46L has lots of thickness on a deep bodied moderate frame. His Red Summit dam is showing she can add pounds to her progeny. She has excellent feet and a tidy udder. Take a serious look at this guy, he checks all the boxes.

The youngest bull in the pen this year has the third highest weaning weight. A smooth made dark red Eastwood son out of an Odin daughter who is ten years old and still on the farm producing today. Moderate birth weight of 92lbs. This guy gets out and walks great, with good feet and a big hip. He has excellent calving ease EPD’s and would work on second calvers or cows.

A dark red, homo polled Spring Creek Redford son. 9L has shown outstanding performance compared to his pen mates. Ranked #2 at weaning and #1 at yearling weight and he only started at 86 lbs. This bull has that natural hair coat, is very smooth, yet shows adequate thickness over his top and through to the rear quarter. EPD’s are in the top 20% for birth weight and 35% for calving ease. The Nevada cow family has been very consistent producer of bulls.

This 3/4 brother to the 7L bull is almost identical in his makeup. It just enforces the genetic consistency of this bloodline. An outcross bull to our program. We purchased his mother at the Spring Creek dispersal sale in 2022. She is a cow that could go into a donor program. MRK Capitalist is a stout MR Hoc Broker son. He has been performing at the top end of his pen mates, with WPDA of 3.43lbs/day. A dark red, blaze faced bull that travels very well on excellent feet and legs. He was part of our pen of 3 bulls at the 2024 Peace Country Beef Congress.

Welcome from KMR Simmentals

KMR Simmental’s is a family operated purebred cow calf operation based out of Grovedale Alberta. Our goal is to provide the type of cattle the commercial cattleman desires. Udders and feet have been the main focus of our cow herd from the start. We have always selected bulls with a very maternal pedigree to ensure these traits continue to be passed on. KMR cows winter on a very similar ration to most ranchers in the area, highly hay based diet with some straw and grain also given. We feel our cows must make it in the real world to prove they deserve to pass on their genetics. We have brought these bulls along slow and steady to promote longevity. We weaned early this year due to poor pastures from the lack of moisture, these bull went on whole oats from weaning to the start of January when we switch to a Bullseye and cereal based ration. We have a good number of heifer bulls available this year in both colors as well as some cow bulls too.

These coming 2-year-old bulls will sure to be a asset to any cattle operation and we look forward to see them working for you. Although our offering may be small, may it be mighty. We believe our program allows these boys more time to grow at a natural pace, promoting longevity. They are fed a high forage diet, and hand fed a Beef Ration supplement. We have decided to consign 15 red and black open heifers to the sale. All of our heifers are kept over the winter and from our uniform group of replacement heifers we have taken out this group. They will be sold without papers. In past years Craig Taylor from Wembley has purchased groups of heifers from us and been very pleased with them.

The heifers will be sold in small lots. They have all their vaccinations, including their pre-breeding shots. They were weighed February 7 and ranged from 825 - 1000 lbs. All heifers are guaranteed open, they have been cycling regularly. The pictures show a sampling of the heifers.

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.

BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.

DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.

INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.

US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.

CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/ producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.

Terms & Conditions

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may be taken, in exceptional cases, must be between buyer and seller.
