On behalf of the Marchant’s, The Thorgilsson’s and the Transcon crew... We welcome you to Season Wrap Up 2024 WOW what a great time to be in the cattle business and particularly the Simmental business POUNDS =PROFIT... As we are seeing record prices across the globe in commercial calf sales. What an opportunity here to step in and purchase your next herdsires early. No need to wait till spring and possibly pay an over inflated price.

Saturday December 14th at the Beautiful Plains arena in Neepawa Manitoba

Extra age bulls that have been developed slowly and grown out for longevity as they should be. Bulls that are not pushed on feed and are selected for structural soundness and performance. Big soggy loose made bulls that have thickness and depth about them. Simmental bulls that will add some punch to your cowherd and give you those big pay weights come fall $$$$. Under the same roof on the same day, you will have a chance to purchase a very strong set of both papered and commercial females. These are from the front end of the pens at Triple T Diamond Simmentals and Tri Star Cattle Co

If you remember the great set of females Stewart brought to town last year, these are sure not to disappoint. Stewart always brings his best to town. Tri Star typically don’t sell many registered females but Tom has opened up the pen and is bringing both bred heifers and open heifers that will be attention getters. Great opportunity to purchase commercial bred heifers from Marchant Farms. These heifers are what the beef business is all about. They are bred early and would make great recipient females for those putting embryos in

Although the numbers in the sale aren’t huge’ the quality of the cattle on offer are TOP NOTCH....Value and Opportunity is key and its all here at Season Wrap UP 2024

Please join us on Saturday December 14th in Neepawa

Tri-Star Cattle Co.

Welcome back to the 2024 Season Wrap-Up Sale! Isn’t it an exciting time to be in the cattle industry?! We cannot believe we have been in the Purebred Simmental Industry for over a decade and this is already the fourth year we have been bringing two-year-old bulls to this sale. Even though it pains Tom to part with any of our top-end females, we have added 3 Breds and 5 Replacements to the mix this year. Over the years we have worked hard to build our genetic diversity and at creating animals we find exceptional. The focus for the 2022 breeding season surrounded diversified AI sires that work for our herd genetics and produced some exceptional progeny from embryo implants. Our very own TCM Jenner 18J was used post-AI as a clean up and MAN did that not disappoint. Jenner sired 3 of the 5 replacement heifers we have on offer. These replacements were TOP of the pen and how exciting to find out, top of the pen, turned out to be our very own home-grown genetics.

This Spring we purchased THREE new walking herd sires which will have calves hitting the ground here in the New Year. We were calculated in what we were looking for in our walking herd sires and are looking forward to their future within Tri-Star Cattle Co. One of those purchase’s was a heifer bull from Wheatland. Wheatland LER 3132L was used to breed Lots 21-23. We are as excited as you to see what that brings in a few short weeks.

Marchant Farms (Tom’s Parents) has commercial bred heifers on offer this year as well; 6 reds and 6 blacks available. Groupings will be made up into packages of three. We run our cattle herd fluently together, with majority Simmental influence. These heifers have been bred by a calving ease Black Angus Bull from Madsen Angus, due to start calving January 10, 2025.

If you have any questions, or would like to come view the bulls and heifers prior to the sale please, feel free to contact Tom. Videos are available on the Transcon website or we can send them directly to you as well.

See you on sale day!

Non-Diluter. Homo Polled. The breeding background in this bull is as solid as they come. His granddam we bought at Pembina Triangle all the way back in 2014. Her bull calf was the lead off bull at Transcon’s Cattle Country Bull sale in 2017. Whenever BERTS Amber 23A is in the breeding background, we know we are going to have a happy customer. BUT the confidence doesn’t end there, add in AI sire SKORS Braveheart for the complete package.

A bull that will go out and cover cows, no nonsense. Solid footed, moves extremely well. Just turn him out and watch him go to work. With a milk number in the THIRTIES he will be adding quality heifers to your herd with that maternal trait, to producers those thick strong calves season after season.

Non-Diluter. Homo Polled. This bull’s Dam has produced for us year after year! He is Sired by our herd bull BERTS Gustavo, a direct son of Red Mountain himself; you are getting tried and true genetics that will no longer be available at any future sales. This is the last year we had Gustavo walking our purebred herd. His dependable genetics, great temperament, super dark hair coat and well muscled traits remain in the females he has left for us. Get this guy in your herd while you still can!!! Check out his Maternal Sister, Lot 25.

Lot 2 - 47L

Flush Brothers

Here are some “take-note” flush brothers from embryos we bought at the New Years Resolutions Sale in 2022. They come from one of Marlin’s last great Red Bulls to sell before his dispersal, R Plus Reddington. I talked to Matt Criddle the day of that sale and he had nothing but great things to say about this bull, who led off the sale and commanded 161,000 that day. So, when we had the opportunity to purchase genetics from him, we jumped at the chance, especially when he was paired to such a great up-and-coming cow like Crossroads Frankie 68F. She was the pick of the 2018 Calf Crop from Crossroads. We Ended up with 3 bulls out of 5 embryos and they have all matured into powerful 2yr olds. They are all very consistent in their make up; very good footed, lots of bone, loose made and move very well. Make sure you check out those videos to see for yourself, or better yet, come visit us at the farm. All embryo bulls have been 100K.

Game Face did it again! I really like his full body and added muscle, which seems to be the norm we are seeing in our Game Face calves. Our oldest son brought a Game Face heifer for his first year of 4H this year and came home with all the ribbons! We were so struck by the power and presence of this heifers Dam, CrossRoads Frankie 68F, that we decided to purchase more embryos off her from the same New Years Resolution Sale that resulted in the progeny in Lots 4-6. However, this time the mating was to SVS Rancher. We had an opportunity to secure semen from SVS Tycoon early in his career and we really like his calves, as did most of the industry. So, we figured Rancher was the evolutionary next step, and I think the progeny that sold this spring off of him proves that, with many of his sons leading off bull sales all over the country. Rancher breeds PERFORMANCE. Ms. Frankie 66L has demanded attention from the start and the continued glow-up doesn’t fail to impress. She is wide topped, smooth made, good footed and swagger to boot.

A polled, Full Fleckvieh, cherry red heifer that is bold and robust in her rib shape, jam packed with muscle and style. She has a pedigree built on success, which is why the attractiveness and completeness she displays is no surprise to us. This is a heifer who will make an excellent brood cow, just like her grand-dam. Her mother is shaping up to be an outstanding female that I plan to flush in the future.
