Fallen Timber FarmsHerd Health All Fallen Timber Farms cattle follow a strict herd health vaccination protocol, with the following administered according to age. Horned animals are dehorned at birth, and any regrowth addressed at again at branding/weaning. Feet are left in their natural condition to provide buyers an opportunity to appraise shape for themselves. All bulls will be semen checked, palpated, scroctal measured and vet checked. The bull feeding program is built to maximize forage utilization, gut health and as a result quality sperm production. Nutritional status of a bull, particularly from the previous 60-days, can aﬀect the semen quality being ejaculated today. Sperm production is a continuous process and proper nutrition is critical to maintain peak fertility and longevity of bulls. Bull calves are generally developed on grass with their moms on a quality mineral program.

53 Bulls

Once bull calves are weaned, they are slowly moved onto a balanced TMR. The bulls are challenged with a forage-based TMR to help them develop and express their genetic potential. This is important for consistency of maturation and puberty of bull calves. Sampling and analyzing forages are important for properly balancing the overall ration. Forage quality and digestibility are important for maximizing ruminal health. Matching suitable protein sources with proper starch with the available forage sources is key to promoting lean muscle growth. The addition of organic minerals are used to ensure proper immune function and overall health of bulls. All of these factors contribute to semen quality and conception within a herd. This year we are taking the bulls inside under cover in the Dawson Creek Exhibition Cattle Barn, so we can fend off the wind and snow and actually enjoy ourselves appraising this great set of bulls. The sale is once again an afternoon/evening event, starting at 4pm, with brisket supper to follow at 530pm. If you can’t attend sale day, viewing is offered open house style all day Sunday, and online bidding & viewing is available via DLMS. Alternatively, our new sales management staff at Transcon Livestock would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. It’s been 13 years since we last sold bulls with Jay, Cody and the gang, and we are sure excited to partner up with them again on our Spring Select Sale. For this sale we will again utilize a video format to minimize handling stress on the bulls, and provide a more spacious viewing arrangement for the inside pens. The Spring Select consigned bulls are genetic tested for Homo Poll, Dilution, and Homo Black as applicable for the specific animal. Not all results are available at time of catalouge print, but are expected any day, so please be sure to give us a call, check our Facebook page, or website fallentimberfarms.com, transconlivestock.com, Cattlevids.ca, DLMS.ca for sale supplements. Our program is a ranch-based operation, with cattle raised on bush range with very little tame grass access. The cattle are built hard, and cope with tough terrain, weather and heavy predator load. Temperament, feet, legs and udders are all in tact in the cow herd, and we ruthlessly cull each year to ensure this is the case. We don’t trim feet. All animals have been worked off horse back, and are familiar with that program. Development is based on repeat customer satisfaction. We aim for return on your investment through years of service, and this longevity is top of mind when feeding these animals. You will find fatter bulls on the sale trail this spring, but FTF animals will go to work, hold their shape, and last. We pail feed bulls a pellet and barley mix daily (12-15lbs), and use our TMR for a silage/straw blend that is bunk fed, to ensure a high roughage/fibre diet, sure not to damage bull’s structural integrity in the crucial development months. Our offering for 2025 is as deep as we have raised, with our black pen being the strongest set raised at FTF to date. Detailed study and investment in the right genetics for our herd is paying off in spades, and we sure are excited for the astute Cattlemen appraising the offering to get eyes on this crop. Homo Polled, Hetero Black The lead of bull in this year’s class is a real whopper off of a never miss Arizona cow owned by our oldest son, Taos, and our new up and coming herd sire, Crossroads Construido 85K. Legend’s dam 447E is a perfect footed and uddered female that is a pleasure to have in the herd, and is considered in our household as our best black female. Legend is a meat machine with length of spine to spare, perfect leg set, and an impressive top. This bull is athletic as they come, and will most definitely cover some ground in a big pasture setting. 90L definitely comes up when the pails are out, but won’t be your club project. His perfect blaze face is the icing on the cake when appraising his excellent leg set, long spine, ample quarter, and wide top. I really appreciate these herd style bulls that seamlessly carry their muscle all while maintaining a smooth front third. Longevity and strong maternal traits are built right into this pedigree. Homo Polled, Homo Black Malek has eye appeal and style that always make me take another look when we are in the pen. He is a smooth made easy travelling bull that is really hard to fault. His sire, Construido is rising to the top of the herd sire pen, as his progeny are so well stamped, and just plain work. Great feet, extra stretch, and ample muscle all with a good northern hair coat – these sons are sure to go to work in most any herd. 152M’s dam is a sweetheart MRL female that has a tidy udder and good feet and legs.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Studley – the name says it all. This calf was born a herd bull and has had that presence since the day he was born. On pasture this summer he was sure he was the main man, strutting out and calling to any ladies that would listen. Big hip, top, and a spine that goes on and on, Studley is set up. 81L’s dam is a thick black cow that has the typical Arizona foot and udder shape...steep square feet, and a square bag always full of milk. Studley’s sire, Authenticator is our main walking sire and sold several top end bulls in last years sale, with this year’s offering being as consistent and exciting. On the EPD end of things 81L is above breed average in 12 out of 13 traits, with a CE in the top 2% of all registered Canadian Simmentals. Coming into the world at 86 lbs, and gaining hard through weaning into his yearling class, Studley has both performance and calving ease.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black 83L is a pen favorite at feeding time each day, as he is so chill and just loves his tail rubs. His easy disposition is an added bonus when looking at his attractive skull, tidy front third which sweeps into a great spring of rib section, and finishes in a nice deep quarter. The typical Authenticator chrome makes him flashy as can be. Pedigree wise – Lewis is stacked. His Whiskey dam is a member of a foundation cow family going back to the great 13Y cow which just departed the herd in the fall. Strong feet legs and tidy udders run deep on the bottom side.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Here is another awesome Authenticator son, with a big top and excellent hair coat. His makeup is so typical in terms of Authenticator’s style it is hard not to be redundant in describing his attributes. On the dam’s side this first calf heifer did a whale of a job on her first at bat, raising a calf from 76lbs to 760lbs in sever drought conditions, all while holding shape herself. The bottom side of Miko’ pedigree holds a nice outcross twist that most herds won’t see, going back to our great NorthStar Rendezvous Bull whose dam (49E) recently commanded top dollar at the Rendezvous dispersal. Deep in this pedigree is our now deceased but infamous KSK Destiny 33U cow, that has many females working in our herd. Rock solid maternal traits that will work in any herd.

Hetero Polled A solid black edition Authenticator calf here, smooth made, long spined and generally consistent in body depth front to back. This bull has great neck extension and sweeps this smoothness into a soggy middle, that makes me happy to see when the -30C sets in. Coming from the aforementioned Destiny cow family (his Granddam) the maternal strength in this pedigree is stellar. His own dam 335D is a real bull maker with all of her registered calves to date being bulls, and several of them working big ranches right here in BC, which is a testament to the travel capability and hardiness in the bloodline. Here again on the Authenticator page – EPDs are curve bending and worth a long look on sale day.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black All the Authenticator progeny possess way above breed average calving ease, and from experience we see this breeding true, but Max is in a league of his own when it comes to a heifer style bull. Another calf from our oldest son’s herd, Taos is extra proud of his first calf heifers’ job on this late born calf. The dam 984k goes back to the dam of the lot 1 bull, so great maternal, feet and udders are built right into this guy. Max fits right in with the big boys of the pen, and already has the herd bull look when he is eyeing the replacement girls next door. His smooth make, yet loose soggy make up are great attributes, that make me excited to see being passed on in his future herd.

Homo Polled, Hetero Black The first set of Stratton bull calves have finally hit the catalogue, and what a splash they should make this year. The first one cataloged is a black fella that is the real deal. Length mass, deep quarter, and herd bull presence, all packaged up smooth as the house cat. As I write this description, we just came in from the nightly pail feeding in a full-blown blizzard, and I can picture this bull perfectly at the trough…he is really turning it up a notch right now, and unlike the people on the pail end of the trough, is totally unbothered by the elements. Cow families right here again from a sweety Arizona dam and our old 4A cow. Mavericks’ moderate framed black dam is a good uddered female with strong feet and an excellent attitude.

Homo Polled, Hetero Black I cannot take my eyes off this bull when Mackinnon gets moving around the pen. His hip shape and quarter just pop for me when he strides out – a very attractive round shape in the muscle expression that we don’t see a lot of in our black pen. His top, length and general geometry in his front 3rd make this a bull that deserves some review come sale day. Sired by our now deceased McDavid son from Deeg’s, Mackinnon is royally bred. On the bottom side MacKinnon’s dam is a maternal Anchor D momma cow moderate in frame, with a bag right full of milk.

Homo Polled, Hetero Black Chrome edition McDavid son for appraisal in Lot 11. This attractive smooth made rascal is a bull that would likely fit into most any herd, coming into the world at a meager 88lbs, his versatility potential is certainly worth consideration. A rib extra in length, Mackinnon has the stretch to add a few pounds to a steer crop. The dam on the bottom side (251C) is a big middle female with a ton of milk, and trouble-free feet and legs, a big broody momma cow that excels in the bush and the rough pasture.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Here is a real twist on the black pedigree, with a half fullblood solid black bull in a nice smooth package. I spoke previously about how pleasing it is to see these bulls with round muscle shape in the quarter rolling off a long hip, and Maynard is certainly showcasing this trait. His big black foot is an added bonus and really seals the deal on this hard to fault outcross future sire. We lost Madden (sire) this fall, so there are limited opportunities to grab a son going forward, but we have used him extensively in both our purebred and fullblood herds. His remarkable ability to pattern progeny solid or with blaze in the purebreds is simply amazing. Maynard’s, dam is a perfect footed Arizona female with a great bag, and hardy makeup. She is broody as they come and consistently raises the right type.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Maurice is another black outcross you likely won’t see replicated in the catalogues this spring. 131M has a strong purebred pedigree going back to our infamous Rockstar Capone bull and the great 45Z cow who just calved her 11th calf the other day. One step further back and we see the matriarch AEDJ 12U, a pillar in our herd for many years. Maynard’s dam is a never miss black Capone addition that we just love. Calving ease, fault free bags, feet and legs, and longevity – the cattle type that make money – all programmed into this bull. I really like the skull on 131M, as it is so sleek and tidy – an attractive presentation with some hopeful added benefit in his progeny at calving time. 131M is not the pen pet but is certainly manageable, as Jamie can attest to when Maynard decided the wagon was a great rubbing post as it entered the heifer pen, and she was left to sort him out of 50 yearling heifers by herself! This being said I think he would work best in a group setting, as he is more comfortable with a friend.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Rounding out the black section this year is a really catchy blaze bull that just clicks. Hip shape, stretch, depth, feet, legs, motion, it all gels on Laser. Another fullblood black outcross pedigree back to our Wolfe heifer bull and a super correct NorthStar black first calf heifer. Laser’s dam did an outstanding job on this guy when looking BW to WW, and it’s the heavy milking cow family in the background I am sure assisting this outcome. Homo Polled Kicking off our red section is a smoke show of a Construido calf with a perfect blaze face and style to burn. Makar is a real pounder off of a sweetheart Capone female that is a household favorite. His dam 730H is a red blaze herself and is a total doll in the pen, playing the role of nanny to all the new babies. The boys just love this cow as she raised a draft calf in the past that ended up being our youngest son Nash’s club project. Pretty great temperament when a 6-year-old can lead a new calf with a nanny momma cow at side. Tremendous maternal coupled with shear performance make Makar an undisputed sale feature. Homo Polled. Twin For those ranching in the north – this name is you – I couldn’t help myself. What a cool bull right here. 101M is an easy doing fleshy bull that has this Construido presence about him – they just stand out. His natural dam did an awesome job raising 101M. Correct structure and feet run deep in this pedigree as the 516E dam is off what I consider, the best cow we have ever owned – TYS 812U. When I mention udders, feet and legs – 812U was flawless right to her departure from the herd at 14years of age. Her shape and capacity were unrivaled by any cow at any age, and 516E is right there in that department. This could be a sleeper bull folks, so please take a long look at lot 16.

Hetero Polled Maddox is the full package in terms of phenotype and genotype. He is hairy, deep, long, loose made, correct and travels out beautifully. Ample quarter and a big top flow flawlessly in body shape from a tidy front third with an attractive slender skull. The Authenticator calves are so good, we really believe every herd should have one working. Calving easy with a low BW and growing hard on momma is what it’s all about – less work when the nights are already long, and lower inputs once the calves are growing are the hallmarks of increased return on investment and the numbers in these calves are just right – the EPDs are bang on – real curve bender statistical predictions that breed true. Maddox dam 112B is a foundation female in her own right back to 43W and the original Copper 119T. This line is a female builder with daughters that repeat what 112B is doing. Hetero Polled Nash’s old 401D cow did it again! She is literally a bull factory, calving just as I write this description with another ripping red bull calf. Loyal is a pen topper in terms of presence and performance. I am repeating myself over and over again, but these Authenticator calves are so easy doing at birth and just grow. 69L is a long long bull with a huge hip and an outstanding top line; so attractive and appealing to look at. He is certainly a frame score larger in our pen, and this added mass shows up on the scale in both WW and YW. On the dam side – I have written about 401D many times over the years and the talk up is the same, feet, udder and maternal strength, adding a rib in length adds pounds and the 401D cow sure plants that into her progeny. For those studying pedigree you see a couple famous animals on the bottom side, both Red Rocket and especially the Erixon 2P cow, who is regarded in industry as one of the most influential cows in the breed. This bull needs a long look.

Hetero Polled Nash’s second bull calf on offer this year is a near identical description to Lot 18, as the first calf heifer raising Luca is a daughter off of 401D. See the comment on lot 18 about bull factory…these girls sure make them right! Luca is a tick more moderate in his make up than lot 18, but has all the same attributes in terms of do-ability and growth. Coming into the world at 80lbs and never looking back, Luca is a calf that we really appreciate in the pen. Long made smooth and set up with an unrivaled calving ease EPD set with 11/13 traits above breed average. The snip of chrome from Authenticator is icing on the cake. Homo Polled Mario is the youngest bull on offer in the pen and will just be 12mo on sale day, but fits right in with the big boys in terms of muscle expression and structure. A true heifer style bull in phenotype and on paper, Mario is royally bred with the great Authenticator and a fabulous Whiskey female raised by non other than the TYS 812U cow. Such a slam dunk on the maternal and the calving ease, I surely hope this bull finds a heifer pen this year to go to work in, as the genetic potential is just huge. Mario’s dam 836J, is a moderate made female in line with him, and has the stereotypical udder and leg set up passed on by 812U. Heifer bull worth a second look.

Homo Polled. Miller time! 108M has this great Stratton look to him that we are certainly enjoying from our LRX 17J sire. Dark red, thick thick, and hairy with a steep foot – we sure like what is hitting the ground off of him. Miller is a fleshy easy doing bull that is consistent with his sire and dam. He is so thick front to back, he almost doesn’t show as long as he really is, but the top in this bull when looking end on seals the deal. Can’t wait for the video on this bull, as he has herd sire written all over him. The Anchor D 7C cow has had few calves through the sale ring over the years and just looks great in her own right, always holding condition and raising the big ones through many years of continuous drought.

Homo Polled. Matthews is a liver red bull that is extra stretchy but carries his flesh deep in the quarter. I sure like this bull and have really started to admire him more and more as he develops. I really like the leg set on the Stratton progeny as their tracking is ideal, and the foot shape is big, both front and back. This is something we really focus on, as the wheels are the most used component in this rigging, and without good rubber – you are stuck! The 771H dam is a well-bred moderate liver red female from the well-known Red Mountain bull, back to the aforementioned 251C cow way in the background. Heavy milking foundation sort of pedigree. 116M is better than his picture, so be sure to watch for the video.

Homo Polled. Merrick is a deep dark red soggy bull that is easy to pick out each day when feeding. He has a nice straight hair coat that is fancy as can be. The big hip and ample quarter downloaded into him from Stratton is much appreciated, and certainly makes for an extra check mark when appraising him against his peers. I love the skulls and front thirds on these Stratton calves; it really completes the package. His KRSS 59E dam did it again on the bull front, as she has raised past high sellers in our sale, and I believe the astute cattlemen studying this set will agree that 127M is a note worthy bull at the front of the pen. 59E herself is moderate, tidy uddered and perfect footed.

Hetero Polled Morris is a real character, and there seems to be one in each pen we raise. We pail feed our bulls daily and Morris is the first bull to the tail gate for a rub, and an attempt to spill the pails on the tail gate that the little boys pass to Jamie and I. He thinks this game is quite funny, but after a few months of it we are really excited for him to find a new set of pails to spill. Jokes aside, Morris is a long spined Jones son with excellent feet and legs and a ton of mass. He pictured like a golden retriever as he is so chill, so again – watch for the video. On the dam side I recently spoke about the legendary AEDJ 12U cow, and in the background to Morris’s dam 627G you will see her. 627G is a flush worthy cow with perfect rigging in all regards, and a beauty red blaze. EPD spread is rockin’ and I think this is a sleeper sale feature right here.

Homo Polled We purchased Mulder’s dam from the 2023 Pasture Treasures sale at Anchor D, and are thrilled with her first calf. This dark red heifer type Sleep Easy bull is an excellent example of calving ease traits at work and being passed along. Nice long cannon bones and short jaw line coupled with a narrow angular skull, makes for a dream combination working in a heifer pen, and Mulder has these attributes. Coming into the world small and growing like a bad weed, 147M has a good calving ease EPD spread and phenotype to draw some attention on sale day. Mufasa has always stood out right from day 1 with a perfect blaze. His absolute power in muscle mass, and bone are simply impressive, especially when you get him on the move and see him track out on big square feet. This bull has length and hip to spare and a hair coat that works in the deepest of cold snap. Maternally, I may need more space if I don’t edit myself. 450E is a fantastic red female that can’t be faulted, and is expected to be as such going back to the great 93T cow. Hetero Polled These Madden sons are so darn good, it’s tough not getting excited when I think about them heading out to work. League is a fitting name for 89L as he is in a league of his own. The pen heavy weight has style, and presence that is hard to find with such stellar curve bending EPD spreads so full of performance. Added bonus for this guy is his meager 95lbs BW. I just can’t fault 89L, he is so easy to keep around, he has the trait checklist full in all departments, and his story on paper in EPD land is every bit as good. His dam is quite often remarked as one of our fanciest females and some times argued as our best solid red cow. She has a perfect udder and leg set, and a nice spring of rib situation in a soggy make up. We typically enjoy the females from her, with her most notable heifer selling in the World Simmental Sale this past summer, but her first bull calf has been warmly welcomed. Good honest red bulls like this are hard to come by, and League deserves a long look and a bunch of stars on sale day.

He is big topped and long made, with a good quarter and a nice big foot. We always appreciated Madden for his feet and legs. Long, smooth, big topped and refined all over – 135M should have some friends come sale day. This calf was on display down at Clearwater Simmentals this past summer for the World Fleckvieh Congress, and we were sure proud to show him off. His polled Silver lake Rocky momma cow is a big made deep power cow with a beautiful head, and excellent feet. He is huge hipped and quartered and has major league top in him. His tidy skull and fantastic leg set are surely appreciated and very noticeable when striding out in the pen. Snowfight’s dam is a sweetheart moderate made fullblood off a bulletproof Rolex female. We have a tendency of keeping this bloodline in the herd as the females are so predictable and rock solid in the foot and udder department, not to mention the great job they do weaning nice big calves. On paper 150M is impressive with a low BW and high-performance numbers. Rhett’s next bull for sale this year is the result of a lot of hard work and anticipation, following a major success in the sale of his first Junior club steer project. Our good friends the Loomis’s were very generous and purchased Rhett’s steer after a long conversation they had with him involving his desire to reinvest his steer money into purchasing a bred heifer in the fall. With each female sale catalogue that arrived in the mailbox, Rhett was quick to analyse and mark pages feverously, until he announced that he had made his selection and we were to plan a trip out to Black Gold! Fast forward 18months and here we are writing the description for the resulting calf from Black Gold Miss Petunia 146K. This polled Jesse James son is long and smooth, with the muscle in the right places and excellent feet and legs. We are pretty excited about our group of bulls on offer this year as 2024 was an exciting calving season for us as we added a great group of new mature cows from Skywest Simmentals. When Cody & Riley called and told me they were taking over the majority of the Virginia Ranch herd and there was a chance I could acquire some new bloodlines I quickly pinned on to the cattle liner before they could change their minds. Not only did this group of cows come with a long line of proven genetics from around the country, they came bred to some of the best bulls in the fullblood industry and we are proud to offer them this year. Along with this great opportunity we also were able to get our hands on some incredible bred heifers from Virginia Ranch, Beechinor Brothers and J.E.M Simmentals and also built a herd bull line up of some of the hottest fullblood bloodlines on the market right now such as Sugar Ray, Rumble, Elevation & Viper. Our bulls were all raised on our ranch just north of Dawson Creek BC, we weaned and pulled the bulls off pasture September 8, 2024, from then on they were fed a barley/oat silage mix along with a 16% protein pellet supplied by Bullseye Feeds and free choice alfalfa hay. All our feed ingredients were tested and balanced to allow the animal to show their natural growing abilities and achieve a strong ADG without harming their long-term development. We stand behind our animals and are always ready for a bull tour, call or stop by anytime.

TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers. BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured. US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer. CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/ producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given. ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
