58 Bulls Plus... Select Groups of Open Purebred & Commercial Replacement Heifers

Welcome from Transcon

Welcome to the 3rd Annual Tri K Cattle Bull sale with guest consignor Albrecht Farms. Tri K Cattle and Albrecht Farms have been selling bulls for well over a decade but this will be the 3rd sale since moving home to the Tri K sale facility.

In early January, I had the opportunity to tour the exceptional operations at both Tri K and Albrecht Farms, and I was genuinely impressed. This year’s offering stands as one of the best sets these programs have ever assembled. The Hodges have put together an incredible lineup of red and black bulls, including two outstanding polled fullbloods. The influence of the renowned Skor Simmental program is unmistakable, especially through the powerful genetics of Skor’s Black Enticer 4W. For producers seeking top-tier replacements, these bulls backed by 4W are a must-see. New this year, Tri K is offering an exciting opportunity to purchase four registered heifer calves. Additionally, they will once again feature their highly sought-after reputation replacement heifers, providing even more options for progressive producers. In the summer of 2023, the Hodges made a game-changing investment by purchasing the entire bred heifer offering from Circle G Simmentals. Many of this year’s bulls are the result of that forward-thinking move. These bulls are wide-topped, soft-made, and loaded with hair, with impressive scrotal development. Whether you’re looking for big-framed power bulls, moderate calving ease, or true heifer bulls, this offering has something for everyone. This deep and diverse group is built to meet the demands of any operation while delivering exceptional value.

The Albrecht family has been an integral part of this sale from the very beginning, and their dedication continues to shine at the 3rd Annual Event. This year, Ryan and his father, Steve, bring their largest and most impressive offering yet—without compromising quality. These bulls stand out for their exceptional shape, impressive hair coats, and calm, easy-going dispositions. Like Tri K, the Albrecht program offers a diverse selection, making them a natural fit for this sale. Both the red and black divisions feature powerful herd bulls alongside calving-ease heifer bull prospects, ensuring there’s something for every operation.

Maximize your investment early this sale season. As the bull sale season kicks off, don’t overlook the incredible value available early. History has shown that some of the best opportunities are in the first sales, and this year is no exception. With cull bull prices at an all-time high, there’s never been a better time to replace your herd bulls and invest in top-quality genetics. Take advantage of this exceptional offering from two respected families, whose bulls have consistently delivered outstanding results. These genetics are the key to improving your herd’s performance and profitability.

Don’t wait for prices to climb—be proactive and secure your next herd bull early. This is your opportunity to invest wisely for the future of your operation.

On behalf of the Hodges and Albrechts the team at Transcon invites you to join us Saturday, February 22nd 3:00pm at the beautiful Tri K Cattle Sale Facility just north of Beaverlodge. If you’re unable to attend in person please give any of the Transcon team a call!

Hello and welcome to our 3rd annual Bull and Female sale. Thank you to our customers and friends who have been supporting us over the years. We are very excited this year to show you what years of planning and vison have become. The cattle industry has been somewhat bitter sweet as we have been challenged on mother natures end with minimal moisture making feed and pasture a bit of challenge over the last 3 years, on the flip side of that we are seeing record high pricing on all types of cattle and it seems like the price is going to continue to climb higher as we go into 2025. It’s great to see the hard-working farmers and ranchers of the Peace Country and beyond be rewarded for their passion and dedication to their cow herds. Being tight on feed we have culled both cows and calves harder than ever, you won’t find any turds in the bull pen, and I think you’d be impressed by the cows that raised the bulls. We have been striving to grow a cow herd that is highly maternal, emphasizing udder and foot quality while not losing the ability to raise POUNDS. In an industry that gets paid by POUNDS it’s important to select a sire that is going to add value in that regard. Whether it be adding some frame and stretch to mature cows or selecting an easy doing high gaining calving ease bull for the young cows. This is without a doubt the strongest bullpen we have ever had. While we have strong group of performance bulls that we have been growing a reputation for, I think the calving ease bulls this year are going to truly impress the most astute cattleman.

We sure are happy with the new group of cows that came from Circle G Simmentals and as you look through this book you will be impressed with the job these 1st calf heifers did! There are a lot of heifers in the group that outdid themselves and we cannot wait to see what they will do next time around.

We are happy to have the Albrecht Family along with us for another chapter of the bull sale. Ryan works his butt off and really invests in top quality genetics which is evident in the bulls of his that you will find in this catalogue.

Working alongside our longtime and trusted friends in the Transcon Team of Jay, Glenn, Darren, and Cody. They see as many bulls every spring as anyone, and they will be happy to appraise the cattle on your behalf. We will be online with DLMS as well and they are such a handy tool to use with everyone’s busy day to day life and how unpredictable weather can be sale day.

Bulls can be viewed any time before the sale at either farm. They will be penned the day prior to the sale. Sale at 3 P.M and supper to follow. Thanks, and we look forward to visiting with you sale day!

Masterclass 710M

Homo Polled, Hetero Black

• Special individual to start out our offering, a full sibling to our 302z donor cow

• We ended up with one bull and one female out of these embryos both are special but not surprising as 302z has been the most influential cow on our farm. Her sons have been high sellers and the daughters are already some of the most productive cows in the early years of their lives

• Big framed, long bodied, big hipped this guy is exactly what the industry needs to put some size and stretch back into a calf crop

• Outcross pedigree with really good EPDS.

• They don’t get much more proven than this, I would send this bull anywhere! Buy with confidence!

Lot 1

2 KKH Executive 161L ET

Homo Polled, Homo Black

• I have had this guy marked since the day he was born

• Executive son out of our 302z donor cow which would be combining the two best animals we have had on our farm

• This guy is going to make some phenomenal females

• Low birth with tons of growth and has a wicked look to him

• Full sister has a bull in the catalogue KKH 823M Two full brothers have sold to Steinrich Ranch and Hodges Simmental. Ask Scott about his calf crop from the full brother…. I think he has a 4H calf or 2 that are going to be competitive this year

Homo Polled, Hetero Black

• Black baldy bull you normally only dream about raising, this guy is impressive!

• Out of a Sparkplug cow that came from Barry Labatte in SK. She has been excellent cow and has made her way into our donor pen based on her production and outcross pedigree

• I like this calf for his extra frame, extra depth and solid feet and legs

• Lots of style on this big baldy stripe face bull, I expect a lot of magazines to have this guy circled

Homo Polled, Homo Black

• Embryo transfer 4w son out of our 600d donor cow

• Another proven genetic combination around here as we have sisters in production and sisters in the replacement pen that are going to make a name for themselves as time goes on

• This guy has a really showy look him and he commands your attention whenever you walk into the pen, if you want to raise a calf crop that stands out I think this is a very important trait to have

• Very outcross to the black simmental world I think this guy has unlimited potential

• Tons of calving ease built into this guy plenty of neck extension and smooth shouldered and super long bodied

• Short gestation high growth bulls are exactly what we were hoping for out of this flush

• Weaned at over 1000 lbs!!!

• Really nice attitude on this guy, very easy to work with

Replacement Commercial Heifers

A real nice set of Simmental heifers right out of replacement pen. Like years past we feel these girls will go out and do a great job, usually ending up in a spring/summer calving program they will end up having some extra size and maturity to end up being productive and trouble-free momma cows.

We will have to heifers sorted into 3 groups. One group of red heifers and 2 groups of blacks.

Albrecht Farms

Welcome

Welcome to the 3rd annual Tri K Cattle Bull & Female Sale. We would like to thank all previous bidders and buyers for their continued support of our program and the effort to attend our sale year after year. Come join us at Hodges farm on Saturday February 22th at 3pm in Beaverlodge to check out this great offering.

It’s been another busy year at Albrecht Farms. The optimism in the cattle industry has been rejuvenated with cattle prices at an all-time high, it’s nice to see the cattle producers rewarded for all their hard work throughout the year. Although, 2024 wasn’t without its challenges, extreme drought was felt across most of the peace country with most areas left with feed shortages and lack of pastures to graze into the fall. Early accumulation of snow in November and December in the LaGlace area has been a blessing and hoping mother nature can provide more as we move into 2025. The kids had another busy year and keep us on our toes. Lukas is now in Grade 7 and is back playing HSL in Grande Prairie which is such great hockey to watch, his passion and dedication to the game makes a dad proud! Benson is in Grade 4 and has followed in his brother’s footsteps, playing his first year of HSL in Grande Prairie. His improvement has been noticed by all as he adjusts to full ice hockey and the game speed of the HSL. Elliana started Grade 1 this year and is loving every bit of full-time school! She decided to put her hockey equipment away for the year and jump back into dance. All 3 kids are very helpful and play a big part in keeping the ranch going. Mom and Dad are doing great, Dad had his knee replaced in early December and his recovery is going well. Mom has taken on lead ranch hand while dad’s been out of commission, looking after the daily care of the replacement heifers and herd bulls.

Albrecht Farms has been an active breeder of red & black Simmental for over 29 years. Our program emphasizes in using quality genetics that breeds for soundness, temperament, udder quality and longevity in the rugged terrain we live in. Our bull sale offering this year consists of 11 reds, along with 4 black bulls all out of highly functioning cows from proven genetics. In the red division, the LFE Redwood 840H sons will lead the charge with added length thickness and that sought after Cherry Red color. This will be the first group to sell from our walking herd sire Circle G Kentucky 52K, his calves come easy with lots of hair and that dark red color. There’s a feature CE son off Kentucky that has already started to garnish a lot of attention, and this will only grow as we get closer to sale day. The black division will be highlighted by an extremely good Sun Rise Legal Custody 28H son from the heart of our ET program. If you’re looking to add calving ease, maternal traits, or simply add some more power to enhance your cow herd I think you’ll find something that meets your needs.

All bulls can be viewed at the farm in LaGlace prior to the sale. Again, this year any customers that view the bulls at the farm prior to the sale will be entered into a draw for a $500 sale credit. If you are unable to attend the sale and plan to join us on DLMS, give Ryan or Steve a call and we can answer any questions you may have. We also encourage you to use the Transcon Team for any assistance you need in finding a bull to meet your needs. Please stick around after the sale for the complimentary Supper and refreshments. We look forward to seeing you on sale day! Ryan

Here’s a feature Son out of LFE Redwood 840H. Red man has that extra length, exceptional feet, liver red color, great disposition and that herd bull look to him. His dam RST Daisy 18D seems to get it done year after year with feature sons highlighting our annual bull sale. This cow family would probably be the most consistent and productive we’ve had to date with the 19A cow leading the way. If you’re looking to add performance, length and improve foot quality then look hard at RST 10M sale day, you won’t be disappointed.

When I toured Lewis bull pen in early 2022 there was a lot hype around LFE Loyalty but it was his full brother LFE Redwood that really stood out to me and if given an opportunity would use in our program. RST 3M reminds me a lot of his sire, stout made, supper long, and has that awesome dark red color. His dam RST 12E has a productive track record of her own with 6 registered progeny. She’s big bodied, dark red and has a nice udder. Big Red will stand out sale day.

Another cherry red, great footed bull out of LFE Redwood 840H. RST 103L dam is a cow I really like, awesome udder, moderate framed, great feet and is direct daughter of the female maker himself, Silver Lake Brute 18B. These females are really starting to steal the show with their progeny making it to the top of both the bull and replacement pens. Very functional bull here that can improve a lot of traits.

Here’s an intriguing CE prospect that grows on me more and more with each week. These will be the first sons to sell out of our CE sire Circle G Kentucy 52k who was the lead off CE bull at the 2023 Circle G bull sale. RST 12M is one of the best footed bulls in the pen, as dark red as you can make them, loads of hair, extremely quiet, wide topped, large scrotal and is backed by a young up and coming cow who got it done on her first try. The dam of RST Utah is only the second direct daughter out of the great 19A cow and one that will be keeping our eye on as she gets further into production.

Hetero Polled

Here’s an ET calf with a performance pedigree but a CE makeup. RST 104L has added length, awesome hair, small headed, smooth fronted with finer bone. We unfortunately lost his full brother in October, he was powerful and more of what you would expect from this cross. The 3 full sisters to 104L are flat out awesome and will be featured in the LOP female sale this coming December. Foot and udder quality run deep in this pedigree, look for RST Liner to make some awesome

Strong heifer bull candidate here. RST 101L started off at 68lbs on a 273 day gestation and ranks in the top 5% for CE & BW. His sire KWA CAN-AM 123H was a past high seller from the great Ashworth program, his calves come small with lots of hair and just explode throughout the summer.

Homo Polled

Here’s an awesome blazed face CE prospect with a nice set of EPD’s. RST 18M came in dam and was purchased from Tri K Cattle out of the Camrose Country Classic sale. Blaze is well balanced with a great foot, good hair coat, nice skull structure and structurally sound. These Slider calves have really impressed me, modest BW, unassisted births and lots of growth. 18M will stand out sale day.

Hetero Polled

Here’s a natural calf out of our RST 3E donor. Take note of the later birthdate on this guy, he will be just 12 months at sale time. Like all the 3E progeny, awesome footed, lots or hair, extremely quiet and sound. WHEATLAND

Homo Polled, Hetero Black RST 30M has lots of length and is extremely hairy. His dam is a cherry red, easy doing cow with a great udder. With extra length comes extra pounds in your calf crop, look for Hatchet to make big heavy steers come fall and nice pen replacement females to build around.

Polled/Scurred

RST 22M is a bigger framed, lots of length, nice footed and thick topped. Another candidate to make some big strapping steers come fall. We had a paternal sib to 22M who was the high selling heifer calf at the 2024 LOP Female sale to Willow Creek Simmentals.

Hetero Polled, Hetero Black Prosecutor is one impressive individual! He would be one of, if not the biggest middled bull we have ever raised. Lots of hair, impressive rib shape, soft middled, wide topped, Large scrotal and moves extremely well for such a tank. We lost his dam to injury a couple years back due to a Texas gate incident but were fortunate enough to be able to flush her a couple times. RST 1M is maternal bother to the two big Power Drive sons we sold last year that each weighed 1700lbs sale day. This guy will no doubt bring your avg WW up on your calves come fall, big time herd bull here.

Hetero Polled, Homo Black

Here’s a bull I’ve liked since he was a young calf. Stout made, lots of hair, awesome footed and has that herd bull look. Strong cow family backing Lecter 4M, his young dam has done well on her first two calves. His sire SRH Hannibal 5H is a black baldy AI sire that we used on 2nd calvers.
