Gary and Nancy, along with sons Cody and Devon are extremely proud of 100+ females that make up Codiak Acres. One of the original Speckle Park breeders, Codiak Acres started their operation in 1990 and for 20 years selected genetics that they believed would create the ideal animal. Their vision of the ideal Speckle Park is a thick, square, moderately sized animal with good feet and udders. Codiak has sold genetics across Canada, into the US, and extensively exported into Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. Codiak believes in “Honest Cattle for the Honest Cattleman.” Gary & Nancy Kiziak & family Ardrossan, Alberta 780.998.5483 codiak@albertacom.com www.codiakacres.com

A very rare opportunity!!!! It doesn’t happen in the cattle business often that two flushes are sold on a breed changing female. One flush sold at the very successful Agribtion sale to River Hill and Wranada Farms. Now, here is the chance to get yourself involved with the breeds’ top breeders. Uptown Girl has had an exceptional show career with her first calf, Let It Ride (Lot 2) - it all started at the Turtleford Fair in August where she was 3rd in the all breeds 2-year-old class, then at Lloydminster Stockade where she was Champion Female and a top four finalist in the Supreme Show Of Champions. Next was Farmfair International where she was Champion Female and placed in the top six in the Supreme Show. Following was Agribition where she was First Lady breed champion as a yearling and a class winner as a pair the year after, as well as being the Champion Female in the open show. Uptown Girl was the most talked about female of any breed on the road this fall. She was able to open the doors for the breed in major all-breed competitions so Speckle Park won’t be looked past in the show ring or in the pasture. Offering 4 Grade A embryos by the bull of your choice. Cost of the flush to the buyer.

Lacerta, sire of Uptown Girl

Just like the other great bulls in his pedigree, Let It Ride will more than get the job done. The Speckle Park breed will be rising to the top in years to come because of the great bulls and females this breed is producing. Let It Ride is one of these bulls that will get the ball rolling for the breed. Only a March calf with an 82 lbs. birth weight and loads of performance on a moderate frame is just what the Speckle Park breed is known for producing. Take the opportunity to get involved in the bull that will put the points on those calves when you put them over those white cows. Let It Ride had a great fall in the show ring. Alongside his mother he was champion at Stockade, Farmfair and Agribition. On his own he was Grand Champion Bull at Farmfair and Reserve Grand Champion bull at Agribition.

Crikey is one of those bulls that would be cool no matter the colour. Stout, big boned and sound, with the “chrome” that will get attention in the show ring. His first calves are thick and deep with lots of extension through the front. Used on Speckle Park females, Crikey will add bone and mass while maintaining carcass quality. There is also great potential for this bull on clubby cows to produce the kind of calves judges are looking for, and that will get attention in the ring with some added colour. Though Crikey has sired embryo calves in Australia, New Zealand and the Isles, this is the FIRST SEMEN RELEASED IN NORTH AMERICA.

There is a legend in every breed, but we feel he is not only a legend but a “Living Legend”. He has accomplished more than any other bull in Speckle Park history. His progeny are still #1 in the show ring and in carcass competition around the world. A Lacerta son, who was also a full brother to Notta Romeo 64R, sired the Champion Carcass Steer at the Calgary Stampede in 2010. After gathering all the breed plan data, Lacerta was tagged #1 sire. He was rated best for birth weight and performance in Australia and New Zealand. Lacerta is now 11 years old and still breeding naturally. We plan on seeing the best calf crop out of him to date this spring. We don’t sell semen on Lacerta very often, so don’t miss out on what could be the last straws of semen to be sold on this legendary bull.

We think the cross with this bull’s mother, Stayls Fancy Feet 10M, and Star Bank Lacerta 68L was one of our best crosses. Stayls Fancy Feet 10M has been flushed for Australia for the past 3 years. Notta 68L Johnny Cash 8X can help color white purebred Speckle Parks or work great in a commercial herd. 8X is the only Star Bank Lacerta 68L son we have in the sale. He is well muscled, has a big top, smooth, thick and ready to work. He is the Man in Black.

Notta Frontline 303X is a stout bull with a lot of thickness, muscle, width, top and length. He was shown at Agribition in 2010 with great success. He was the Reserve Bull Calf Champion and Champion Pair of Bulls with Let It Ride. He is another eye catching bull with tons of potential. Because of the potential for outcross genetics we will be retaining a half share in the semen rights to be collected at our expense and the new owner’s convenience.

6w is not your typical Speckle Park bull. This bull has more size and stretch than what we are used to, but he is still as smooth and clean in the front end as they come. He bred cows last summer and is ready to go. 6W is sired by Notta Romeo 64R.

Star Bank 64R Remedy 9W is another Notta Romeo 64R son with a great disposition. His color pattern is great and he was used on a black commercial herd last summer. He is ready to work.

Star Bank Captain 21W, a son of Notta Romeo 64R, is well structured with a lot of stretch. His coloring will cross well with and help mark solid black females. He is good natured and easy to work with.

Star Bank 64R Everest 27W, sired by Notta Romeo 64R and out of, what we think, one of the best cows in the breed, Star Bank 50J. Star Bank 50J has been in the export flush program for 4 years. This is a great opportunity to acquire some amazing genetics.
