leaves an impact on us in both physical as well as psychological terms. The materials used for making a house consist of elemental qualities which in turn affects the energy of that part of the house where it has been used. Different materials contain different properties which affect us differently. Certain materials which we choose for our house can prove to be fatal for our health over time as they might turn to be life-threatening. There are yet others which cause major allergies in the human body. Hence, Vastu Shastra suggests taking a sneak peek through every material chosen for every part of the house so that your home emits positive energies in every nook and corner of it. Here is a small list of guidelines which should be followed while choosing and using the materials for the construction of your residence or official building.
• When building a new house, make sure to use only new bricks and materials for the same. With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
• Plastic, marble and asbestos are some of the man-made materials which should not be used as building materials according to Vastu because these are inorganic materials which are not considered to be good conductors of cosmic energy. • When building a new house, never use materials from an old building. This is because these used materials may carry negative energies owing to the negative incidents which might have taken place in the old house and even result to its repetition in the new house. Using old materials for the new house may even lead to major losses in wealth. • Always use the best quality of cement and soil for constructing a new structure. Using non-toxic and natural materials for the new home would pave way for healthy living for you and your family. • Always make sure that the wood being used for the construction of your house has not been acquired from a thorny tree as this would have a negative effect on its occupants. Also, materials which have been kept stored for a long time and have not been brought to use should also be avoided for constructing a new house. • Make use of iron grills only when necessary and not for show. • Wood should be used as far as possible as it is considered to be magnetically more vibrant and energetic with the earth’s energy.

ENHANCING YOUR LEARNING AND FOCUSING SKILLS WITH VASTU JUNE 7, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT Leaning, as is always said, is a never-ending process which continues throughout one’s life. There is no age bar for enhancing one’s knowledge and understanding. One should be open to changes and should be ready to accept new things in life. Vastu is yoga of design for buildings and structures which, if followed meticulously, can improve With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
one’s knowledge of learning and ability to focus to quite a considerable rate.
Vastu dates back to ancient India and is much older than FengShui. It is an ideal architecture and design system which banks on the five elements of nature and the ten universal directions through the use of natural materials in an attempt to enhance all aspects of our life through an optimal support system. Creating an ideal place for learning is very important to concentrate and enhance on our understanding power. This includes the right placement of the study area within any home or office structure. It is believed that the northeast direction is the most suitable area for knowledge and settling of one’s mind. This area should fulfill the following requirements: • It should be kept clean and in order at all times. Any clutter here would lead to confusion and stagnation. • Sufficient natural light should brighten up this area. Use With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
of fluorescent lights tends to lower the immune system and create depression. Natural sunlight is the best. However, if that is not possible, the use of full spectrum light bulbs can be done. • Natural lighting provides clarity of mind and brings about happiness while fresh air boosts up the physical body and the mind. • Usage of natural materials for the seating arrangement should be used in the study such as a chair made out of bamboo or wood would be apt and cushions made of cotton, linen, silk or wool would be ideal. Toxic materials tend to block the mind which does not let the mind function efficiently. • The height of the chair and the work table should be ideal for an individual to work without putting strain on him. • The most coherent brainwave activity takes place when one works facing the east, north-east or the north direction, hence make sure to follow the right direction so as to enable you to work and learn efficiently. • Never face a wall while working as it restricts one’s creativity and thinking process. Always face towards the room or a window which opens broader horizons for you. • Even the sleeping position affects the brain drastically. Our memory and cognitive skills can work effectively only if the brain has rested well during the night. Vastu recommends putting one’s head in the east or the south direction while sleeping for inducing nourished brain ware activity. Putting your head in the north while sleeping will make your body and brain age m ore quickly, thereby With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!

ALIGNING YOURSELF WITH VASTU SHASTRA AND ITS PRINCIPLES MAY 10, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT It has been said over time and again that Vastu Shastra is an age old ancient concept which is based on the wisdom and knowledge from the Vedas. It helps us to align our body with the five elements of nature and also with the environment around us in an attempt to create positive vibrations for better productivity, happiness and success in life. it s mainly the two major forces of nature, the magnetic energy from the North and the positive sun’s energy coming in from the East which needs to be well aligned with our body so as to reap the positive result and benefits of Vastu.
With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
In order to align our body with these two natural forces, there are many simple ways which can be made a part of our daily regime. + 1. Direction for work- The direction which we face while working poses a very strong and deep impact on our productivity. Vastu says that if we face East while doing creative work like writing, cooking etc. it improves our creativity and even promotes health but if we are involved with analytical brain work like calculating, accounting work or paying bills etc. we should face the north. In a nutshell, Vastu believes that facing the east and north directions while working are more favorable for success as compared to the south and west. 2. Direction of sleep- A good night’s sleep is very important to keep one active and energetic. If we go via Vastu principles, it says that our bodies are electromagnetic and hence if we sleep with our heads With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
towards the north, it would come in the way of the magnetic energy flow coming in from the north direction thereby leading to a disturbed night’s sleep, restlessness and body aches. This will tend to bring two positive ends of the magnetic together, one is the positive polarity in the human brain while the other is the North Pole energy, and both would repel leading to disrupted digestion, circulation and sleep. Hence, remember never to sleep with your headboard to the north, northeast or northwest. 3. Storage of positive energy-Vastu says that the north and the east directions should have more openings than the south and the west. This is because the positive solar and magnetic energy enters into our homes through the east and the north directions. They move in and around the structure and get stored in the south and west areas of the house. It is the presence of these positive stored energies which let people live and work harmoniously. If this energy is not allowed to flow freely due to obstruction through wrong placement and positioning of objects, it would lead to building up of stress in various areas of our life including health, career, and relationships and so on. 4. Ideal shape of the structure- Ideally, energy moves most freely in a structure which is either square or rectangular in shape as the five elements of nature remain in harmony in these kinds of structures. Missing corners or cuts within the structure create disharmony and imbalance thereby leading to environmental stress which drastically affects the way we think and feel.

THE SWASTIKA AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE MAY 3, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT The Swastika is one of the most religious and auspicious symbols in Hindu scriptures. It ranks second after ‘Om’ in auspiciousness and purity. However, today the swastika has been recognized all across the globe as a Nazi emblem which was used by Hitler on the National-socialist Germany flag. Even then, Swastika continues to hold great religious significance for the Hindus.
With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
Some facts about swastika is that it is not a syllable or letter like the ‘Om.’ It is a decorative character which seems to have originated in pictorial (hieroglyphic) script. Swastika is also referred to be an amalgam of the words Su and Asati where the former means ‘Good’ and the latter means ‘to exist.’ These two words, when amalgamated into one become Swasti. Accordingly, the literal meaning of this is ‘let good prevail.’ There are two main standard forms of Swastika symbolone faces the right, also called the right hand path, while the other facing the left, also called the left hand path. These represent the male and the female. There is also an amalgamated version of these two Swastikas. If we turn to history, it is believed that a Swastika grid originated as a blue print for a fort called Su Vastu where even if one of the four gates of the fort could keep the three-fourths of the fort safe. Hence, it was also referred to be something which would lead to ‘good habitation,’ in Sanskrit, the word Swasta meant calm or peaceful. Hence,

Sanskrit, the word Swasta meant calm or peaceful. Hence, it could be a defensive structure which was meant to be of good habitation. Swastika is even taken to be a grid which the military practiced as a defensive arrangement in the form of a Chakra vyuha. It was used during very ancient times of the Mahabharata. The army, under this grid formation, was arranged in a circular grid which was expected to be broken by the rival enemy. Arjuna’s son Abhimanyu was killed during the war of Mahabharata while breaking this Chakra-vyuha which was laid down by the opposition, the Kauravas. Just like the Chakra-vyuha, even the Swastika could be a result of a defensive structure which was i=originated due to its vast practical utility for being so powerful and pure. Since there is no full proof evidence about the origins of Swastika, just like ‘Om’, its inception and origin can only be concluded and guessed by the little clues which we have from the past.

THE IMPORTANCE AND SIGNIFICANCE OF A BELL APRIL 28, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
The two very common places where we witness the use of a bell is the one which we use at home in our temple and the other which is hung at community temples. Both hold a significance which needs to be known and studied in detail. As far as the bell in our house temple is considered, we use bells made of varied metals with artistic designs on them. But if we follow the Vastu rules and as per the science of spirituality, a bell within a temple in the house should be either made of copper or brass and It should have the carvings of either Lord Garud or Lord Nandi on it. The bell should generate sweet and soothing sound which is gentle to the ears. We use the bell while waving dhoop (frankincense) or while lighting the diya or lamp in front of the deity during the procedure of aarti. It is believed that a certain energy wave is emitted by the sound coming from the bell which is rung during such performances which in turn tend to spread positivity and spirituality on a higher level. This can be further explained with the help of a subtle drawing which tells us about this subtle process of what goes on at this higher subtle level which our gross eyes are not able to view.

Effects of the energy which is generated by the ringing of the bell If we look at the physical appearance of a bell, it has a dome-shaped body with a clapper which when strikes with each other creates circles of chaitanya that get projected in the surrounding or atmosphere. This chaitanya frequency gets coincided with the Akash tatva (absolute ether element) emitting yellow color vibrations. The clapper form the bell emits red colored divine energy rays. These can also be witnessed here/ the negative energies present in the surrounding get driven away with this divine energy and chaitanya generated by the sound of the bell. Whenever a puja is performed, the bell is also worshiped in the initial stages by ringing it and reciting holy verses. the main purpose behind this is that ‘I am ringing this bell to invoke deities and to drive away demons.’ The difference in the sound vibrations of a bell and a shankh (conch) The shankh and the bell are mainly used in every puja ritual for creating sound vibrations. However, the sound With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
vibrations which are produced by the shankh are called Shankhanaad while that created by the bell is called Ghantanaad. Both induce purity into the atmosphere. However, the only difference between the two is that the sound vibrations created by the bell tend to purify the atmosphere in the downward direction while the one coming out of the shankh purify the atmosphere in the upward direction.

VASTU MHUHURAT FOR GRIHA ARAMBH (COMMENCING OF CONSTRUCTION) APRIL 13, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT Before commencing construction work on a piece of land, it is extremely important to worship the plot. The northeast being an auspicious corner, the puja should be done here. The Vastu Muhurat must be taken out by a learned astrologer. The first digging should be initiated by the owner of the land. When we say an auspicious day, it means the five components of any particular day in the Panchang should be auspicious, that is, Dina, Nakshatra, Tithi, Yoga and Karan. However, these components depend on two main fact ors, the position of the moon and the earth. It is not necessary that a good Panchang would mean that the day is auspicious for every person. Vastu Muhurat Puja

While getting the Vastu muhurat puja done for a house, the birth star (janma nakshatra) of the owner is taken into account to decide which day would be auspicious for conducting the puja. When an auspicious compatibility exists between the janma nakshatra of that person with the nakshatra of any particular day, it is considered to be a good day for carrying out any good deed like the Griha Arambh puja. However, the auspicious time or the Shubh muhurat is calculated on the basis of the sunrise time for that particular geographical position. Generally, an auspicious muhurat lasts only for 3 to 4 minutes. The construction of any house is believed to be auspicious if it is commenced on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Sundays and Tuesdays should be avoided for the same. If the construction of the house is begun during the Shukla Paksha of the month, it bestows the owners with happiness, but on the contrary, if it is begun during Krishna paksha, it brings losses for the owners. A Vastu puja should be performed before beginning to live With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
within any new place. The worship of the Vastu Purush should be conducted while beginning new construction or renovation work. Ashadh Shukla to Kartik Shukla is the period according to Hindu calendar when the gods are in sleep (Dev Shayan) and hence no construction work for temples, palaces or houses are to be conducted during this time. Vastu Muhurat Puja • The north-east should be chosen to dig the foundation first as this direction needs to have a low and light level. • Only after the Bhumi puja the construction work of the building should be started. the south-west should be constructed first and then should be proceeded to northwest/south-east and should end in the north-east. • After the construction work is over, a Griha Pravesh puja should be conducted. This puja should always be done during the day time. • The months of January to June should be chosen for the Gruha pravesh in the new house. • Tuesdays and Sundays are not considered auspicious for this puja. All other days can be chosen for the same.

VASTU GUIDANCE FOR SHOPS With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
ďŒƒ APRIL 5, 2016 ďŒ€ LEAVE A COMMENT Not all shops do the same amount of business even when placed in the same market place. Some appeal more to customers and tend to do brisk business while others remain empty despite offering promotional gimmicks and having attractive interiors. This happens due to various factors. The location of the shop, slope of the ground, shape of the plot, the direction for entrance and even the position and seating arrangement of the owner makes great difference in measuring the success level for the prosperity of any shop. However, in order to make the shop successful and customer friendly, it is very important to make the shop Vastu complaint. Here are some Vastu tips which can make your shop yield profits in no time at all.
With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
• A shop should always be square or rectangular shaped, or its front should be wider than its rear. A person tends to incur financial losses and have mental tensions if the shape of the shop is irregular or if its front is narrower than its back. • The entrance of the shop should not have a slope as this leads to inconsistent profits and is considered quite inauspicious • There should not be obstructions at the entrance in the form of trees, poles or any other objects. • Presence of on open drain in front of the shop leads to loss of wealth. Even presence of stagnant water is With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
considered inauspicious for the shop • The main door should not have a door sill as it prevents positive energy from entering inside the shop • The north-east corner of the shop should always be kept clean and empty as this is a very sacred place and is allotted for the idols. A small fountain or water body is considered ideal. • Heavy furniture and showcases should be placed towards the south-west of the shop. It should never be placed in the north-east direction as it would lead to heavy losses. We all strive towards achieving a good lifestyle with high standards of living. High social status, huge bank balance and a luxurious life is a dream for every enthusiastic human being. All these can be achieved by keeping a positive attitude and a promising outlook towards life. Let all negative vibrations stay miles away from you and you would soon realize that everything is achievable in this so called materialistic world. All this can be done by switching to Vastu principles in one’s daily life.

THE DEVOTION AND PLAYFULNESS DEPICTED IN With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
PLAYFULNESS DEPICTED IN THE RASLEELA WHICH KRISHNA INDULGED IN APRIL 5, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT Krishna’s Raasleela was one of the most passionate and playful acts which he indulged in. Every act that he indulged in showed great commitment and poise from his side. Right as a child, or even as a youth or as a statesman, warrior, and teacher or as a divine incarnation of Vishnu, he never showed slackness in his actions. He always followed the righteous path of devotion and dedication which gives rise to emotion and commitment. Krishna always believed that life should be on the move through devotion, awareness, energies, action or kriya. He believed peak intensity could be achieved through emotions in a very comfortable manner as compared to other aspects of life. However, one needs to be more vulnerable as the path of devotion demands a certain amount of abandonment.
With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
I believe it is quite difficult to remain wise while you are in love with someone very intensely. The heart and the mind game can never be operated and used at the same time. It is often seen that a person in love always thinks from his heart. Although this practice does not involve too much of learning or dedication or understanding to walk on the path of passion, it simply requires a deep one-pointed love angle which remains constant under every circumstance. A person who tries to capitalize on his love relationship and emotions is ultimately a loser in the long run. The absence of passion and emotions in life can even end your life. Love does not calculate the percentage of good or bad in it, it only thrives on true passion and devotion towards each other. With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
The Raasleela that Krishna performed with the Gopis and his beloved ones was not philosophy of any kind. It was a medium by which he, and the others involved with him, connected to his inner self which gave strength to the physical body to function in a better manner. People generally thought this playful attitude of Krishna to be irresponsible, but this does not stand true. In fact, as Krishna puts it, it is good to be playful with life or else the tensions surrounding you would kill you both mentally as well as physically.
Raasleela or Playfulness was a dance form where every creation of nature enjoyed to the fullest and expressed energy in its highest form. It would involve all the basic forces within the body to play with full vigor and liveliness.
To sum up, I would say, playfulness is neither a philosophy With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
nor an attitude of any individual; it is attitude of the Almighty who created every form of life on earth. Being in tune with the creator and his creations would make you become playful most naturally, without having to attempt for it.

LIFTING OF THE GOVERDHAN MOUNTAIN BY LORD KRISHNA MARCH 31, 2016 LEAVE A COMMENT The lifting of the mount Govardhan by Krishna is a mystery to everyone. It is an unsolved miracle which no science With PDFmyURL anyone can convert entire websites to PDF!
can define. I have been asked about it by various scientists in various conferences across the globe but all I always have to say is that it is a miraculous deed of the Almighty which no Hindu text or scripture can define. However, the lifting of the mountain proved to be a vital turning point in the life of Krishna and his kinsmen.
The Gopis and Gopas of Gokula were the lifeline of Krishna who was ready to do anything for their welfare. However, Krishna was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu who had taken birth to fulfill an important mission of killing the demon Kansa and establishing Dharma by playing a pivotal role in the Mahabharata war. Even after knowing the purpose of his life, Krishna always remained in two minds for the thought of leaving his people and going in search of his mission to faraway land. He always wondered whether his expedition was worth giving up his love and attachment with the people of Gokula? However, the lifting of the mount Govardhan turned a new leaf in the life of both

mount Govardhan turned a new leaf in the life of both Krishna and the people of Gokula as it kick started a new chapter in their lives. The incident was proof enough to affirm that Krishna was none other than God himself who lifted the mighty range on his little finger with great ease. The Govardhan Incident Once, a fierce storm hit Gokula when Krishna deviated the people of Gokula from conducting the puja offered in praise of Lord Indra. He convinced them to conduct Gopotsav instead as the cows and their cattle were their lifeline. Lord Indra got annoyed and brought about violent storms accompanied by torrent rains. This resulted in the river Yamuna overflowing and Gokula getting flooded completely. The people of Gokula started believing that it was due to not worshipping Lord Indra that such a calamity had hit them. As for Krishna, he got to rescue his people by hunting for a safe place to take shelter. Having complete knowledge of the terrain there, Krishna noticed an opening in the Govardhan parvat which led to a deep cavern inside. Krishna led all his people, along with their cattle, to the cavern but it was not large enough to accommodate everyone. Hence, Krishna lifted the mountain on his little finger and provided shelter to the entire Gokula-dwellers. They took shelter here for a few days till the floods subsided completely. After this incident, Krishna soon left everything behind, including Radha, his childhood love, only to seek his purpose of life. everything else and that is what mattered the most. Vrindavan whom he defeated and won over with his flute. These bulls were aggressive and violent and this one, whom Krishna invaded, was huge, extremely strong and quite dangerous as well. No one dared to go near him yet people bred him for his usefulness to them in supporting their financial needs. Krishna’s elder brother Balaram had always wanted to kill Hastin with a single punch. Balaram was the strongest among the boys of his age. One day, Krishna vouched to ride over Hastin with full determination in front of everybody. Everyone was shocked to hear about Krishna’s conquest. The time frame which he put for himself was before the arrival of the next Purnima (full moon). Every day, from that day onwards, Krishna would visit Hastin where he was tied to a tree. Since his childhood, Hastin had allowed only two people to go near him and attend him. Krishna asked for permission from them to spend some time with Hastin every day. He would sit there for hours and played his flute. He would even give Hastin to eat, he would mix jiggery and straw and give it to Hastin every day. This turned the bull docile in some time. After a few days, as time passed by, Krishna one day touched Hastin while playing his flute. This way, before the arrival of the next full moon, Krishna became quite friendly with the bull. No one, however, was aware of this act of Krishna. On the day of the full moon, Krishna was fully prepared to ride Hastin. Balaram, along with their other friends, did not want to put krishna’s life on risk and hence were ready to withdraw the bet but Krishna would not budge even after

withdraw the bet but Krishna would not budge even after Radha trying to convince him not to do so. Soon after, Krishna approached the bull, played his flute, gave him his favorite dish to eat and stood close to him. He then asked Radha to come close to him and stand behind him in a manner that she could not be viewed by Hastin. Krishna soon leapt on his back along with Radha. Hastin got excited initially and began running here and there, but once his entire energy had gotten exhausted he calmed down and started grazing. This entire incident of Krishna riding the bull, Hastin, along with Radha turned out to be the talk of the town.
