In this blog, I will tell you how Krishna rode Hastin, the raging bull, and won over him with his flute. Krishna was established and known as the natural leader of the community in Vrindavan right from a small age as a young boy. This was because of his extraordinary prowess and wisdom in handling various situations. Moreover he was very level headed and had a very sensible manner of handling calamities. One such incident that showcases his wisdom and strength took place when he was between the age of 14 and 15 with a stud bull in Vrindavan. These bulls were naturally very aggressive and violent. Balaram, Krishna’s elder brother, who was the strongest among all the boys of his age, had always wished to become string enough to be able to kill Hastin with a single punch. One day, Krishna said with complete determination that he would ride Hastin. This statement left everyone astonished. Krishna vouched to ride Hastin by the arrival of the next full moon day, Purnima. In the meanwhile, as days passed by, Krishna would go to the place where Hastin was tied up to a tree. full moon day, Krishna got friendly with the bull, which no one knew about. On the Purnima, full moon day, Krishna declared that he was ready to ride Hastin. Balaram and other friends of Krishna got terrified and were ready to withdraw the bet as they did not want lose Krishna but the latter was adamant. Even Rdha tried stopping Krishna from getting into this mad and fatal adventure but Krishna approached the bull with conďŹ dence, played his ute, gave sweet things to him to eat and got close to him. He then asked Radha to come near him and stand the way he was standing, with her legs right behind his and her body right behind his, in a manner that Hastin could not see her. Hastin got a little excited initially but then he calmed down and allowed Krishna to leap onto his back. Krishna thereafter even pulled Radha up. Hastin got extremely violent in this and began running hither thither with Krishna hanging on his hump and Radha hanging on to Krishna. They rode through the town into the forest and when Hastin had spent his entire energy after running for a long time, he relaxed and started grazing. With Krishna and Radha riding the violent bull Hastin, it became a great miracle for all the people present there. Dr. Puneet Chawla Vastu Shastra Experts
