ACTIVITIES

The purpose of “Living Education” is to provide systematic training for members, youth, and ministry of the Living Church of God in the knowledge and understanding of the Way of God. The online program is for members and attending prospective members of the Living Church of God. There are no age restrictions beyond the ability to read and study the Bible.

The program is focused on developing students both spiritually physically: growing in the knowledge of the word of God and cultivating strong habits of Christian living. Living Education-Charlotte program includes face-to-face instuction, weekly assembly presentation by leaders in God’s work, and work-study program. The on-site program is geared for singles, aged 18-30.

Part of the mission of the leadership of the church is to train and support more leaders. Pastors, Elders, Deacons, Deaconesses are all part of the ordained structure of the church. This section is designed to assist in training and strengthening these individuals in their roles. Please note: access through this gateway is by permission of LCG Church Administration.

The goals of the program are to strengthen knowledge of the Bible at a child’s appropriate educational level, to enhance the roles and responsibilities of parents by giving aid in developing necessary skills and understanding for teaching spiritual truths to their children, and to build bonds of family togetherness between parents and their children who regularly take part in the program.

Living Education Activities focus on learning more about God's way of life through interaction and engagement with other members in unique environments. Our overseas programs take participants to places like Israel and Thailand. Our Israel program takes the "familiar" places from the Bible and brings them to life as participants walk the same streets and climb the same hills as men and woman from the pages of the Bible.

THE GENERAL EPISTLES Now Available! Unit 2: The Letters of John and Jude (Feb-Apr 2020) UNIT 1: The Letters of Peter and James This unit is part of our course titled, "The General Epistles". The letters that comprise the General Epistles are James, 1st and 2nd Peter, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, and Jude.

These letters teach the mind-set of a follower of Christ. While Paul's writings later addressed specific doctrinal challenges, James, Peter and John challenged to the readers to take on the mind of God. They emphasized faith, hope, and charity, the fruit of God's spirit that they witnessed in Jesus Christ as He walked, and talked and taught them before His death and resurrection. With a mind focused on these spiritual attributes, we have a foundation that will withstand the challenges of false doctrine, trials and tribulation. Mr. Gerald Weston, Presiding Evangelist of the Living Church of God, brings these letters to life.

Men’s Training Camps THIS IS THE FOUNDATION UPON WHICH LEADERSHIP IS BUILT

This type of weekend is meant to be a “spiritual bootcamp” for all men. It is not necessarily designed to be a “leadership training” weekend. All men in the congregation are encouraged to get involved – even if they don’t consider themselves leaders. Our goal with this program is to focus the attention of all of our men on becoming better husbands, fathers and Christians.

Holy Day Weekends THE FOCUS IS FELLOWSHIPPING, LEARNING, AND WORSHIPING GOD—TOGETHER

In Exodus 13, God instructed the Israelites to remember their escape from Egypt year after year. They were commanded to remind their children of the miraculous intervention that God had shown them as He brought them out of Egypt. We recognize that God has shown us the same mercy and kindness. Each year, we observe the Days of Unleavened Bread and recount the same lessons. But are the lessons lost as we try to squeeze our observance of God’s Passover and Holy Days into our normal routine? By getting away from the hustle and bustle and gathering with our brethren as we begin the Spring Holy Day season, we give added weight to these special days. For more information on Living Education Activities, please visit our information table. Website: https://www.lcgeducation.org/activities/

The purpose of this initiative is to provide teaching tools for parents to aid in instructing their children in the fundamental truths of the Bible in an organized and structured way, at appropriate educational levels.

Weekly Lessons We are working on actualizing our two-year lesson schedule, posting one new lesson for each level every week. The goal is to cover the stories of all the main characters from the entire Bible across the three levels. Each lesson is posted on our website's blog with a downloadable version. We will be finishing up lessons from the Old Testament by the Spring Holy Days 2020.

Special Edition Lessons We have created special Study Guides to help children learn topics which reach beyond the overview of Biblical characters. Each lesson packet includes key memory verses, questions for meaningful discussion, and engaging activities. We have these special publications available to study the topics of Pentecost and the Fall Holy Days. We hope to release lessons on the Passover and Unleavened Bread this spring.

Art Contests As part of our Living Education Children’s Program we hosted an Art Contest in conjunction with the publication of our Special Edition Lessons for the Fall Holy Days. We are planning to have more Art contests with various themes in the future. These contests will be open to brethren of all ages so anyone with artistic ability may participate! For more information on our previous contest and to see the winners’ submissions visit our website at https://www.lcgeducation.org/fall-holy-days-art-contest/

All lessons include: ✔ a short summary of that week’s lesson ✔ related Scriptures to read together ✔ thought-provoking questions to discuss ✔ suggested memorization scriptures
