Bushwick’s House of Yes is hosting Gala Galactica, a space-themed New Year’s Eve celebration with music by Pontchartrain, DJ Cent, and DJ Ultra Violet.
House of Yes invites guests to “go deep into innerspace and explore the expanse of galaxies through dancefloor excellence and intimate encounters,” during the celebratory night.
Chapel Bar 9 pm–2 am Gramercy
Tucked in between the photography museum Fotografiska New York and a 19th-century church, Chapel Bar is an ultra-swanky, well-kept secret of a cocktail destination. Usually only open to members, this New Year’s Eve, the doors are also being opened for all folks to party the night away at a “Say Goodbye to Your Sins”-themed gathering. In addition to a required black tie/formal dress code, there will be a confetti midnight toast, surprise entertainment, and an open bar with house specialty cocktails.

10. Lobster and chicken are both considered bad luck foods. According to superstition, it’s because of a lobster’s ability to move backward and a chicken’s ability to scratch itself backward.
