There is an historic connection between the regions of the Langhe, noted for its formidable red wines and the white truffle, and Liguria, a Mediterranean paradise of aromatic herbs and an encyclopedia of fish. Over the centuries, trade between the two regions flourished due to proximity and necessity, the inland Langhe providing rice and cheese and fine wine, the coastal Liguria furnishing fish, olive oil and access to the sea. The customs and culture of both regions are marked by this constant interaction … and the cuisines of both are testament to the benefits of this long association.
