SUMMER OF SELF CARE Months of COVID-19 lockdown followed by the rainy season has had most of us stuck inside for what feels like an eternity. Now that skies are getting bluer and social gatherings are getting larger, you’re gonna wanna dust off those cobwebs before heading out there. Here are some of our favourite beauty treatments to get you summer ready.

For Hands and Feet: Tinted If you’re looking for a set of gels that turn heads, head straight to this stylish nail bar in Causeway Bay. Their Signature Gel Manicure or Pedicure ($580/$680) comes with a choice of signature nail design, with nail artwork created in collaboration with local artists. For the summer, they're also offering a special deal where you can get a 30-minute hand spa treatment on top of the signature gel mani for just $840 (regular price $960).

Book via their Instagram account @tinted.hk

For Wax: Dolma Waxing Boutique No fuss, no frills, and most importantly, no double dipping! Dolma has earned herself a cult following as one of the cleanest and most efficient waxing spots in town, and it’s well deserved. Centrally located on Queen’s Road Central, Dolma is a high priestess of hair removal, getting rid of unwanted overgrowth quickly and with minimal pain. Make her your first port of call before any beach or junk trips this summer. Costs $250 for a bikini wax.

Unit 303, 3/F, Yu To Sang Building, 37 Queen's Road Central, Central, 6348-4452, brazilianwaxing.com.hk

For An All-Over Tan: Glow Spa Pastiness isn’t cute, but then again, neither is premature aging. If you crave some colour but without the inherent risks of sunbathing, go for a spray tan instead. Glow Spa uses all-natural and organic options like Vani-T Tan (a celeb fave) and ECO Tan. Results can last as long as three weeks, and best of all, no pumpkin orange palms to contend with after. Costs $580 for 45 minutes.

8/F, Silver Fortune Plaza, 1 Wellington St., Central, 2525-5198, glowspa.hk.

For Hair: W52 Hair & Nails ‘Tis the season of frizz! If your hair could easily be mistaken for a clown wig these days, you’d do well to invest in some deep hydration to get that mane under control. For anyone on a budget, try the deep conditioning treatment ($750) at W52, a Japanese three-step process which combines chemicals and heat to smooth hair. If you’re willing to splurge, you can also opt for a Brazilian Blowout ($2,500- $3,500) which allows you to customise your hair’s texture and will see you through the worst of the humid season.

4/F, W Place, 52 Wyndham St., Central, 2217-0644, w52hair-nails.com.

LIV LOVES… FOUNDATION

ANSHU RIJHWANI, Senior Sales Manager

Woke Up Like This ($368 for 40ml) “This Hong Kong brand has a whole range of colour-correcting foundations for redness or sallow skin.”

JO ROBINSON,

Director of Partnerships

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint ($300 for 100ml) “It’s technically a tinted moisturiser so it’s super light, but gives the coverage of a foundation, and really smooths your skin out. Bonus: it’s SPF30!”

CARLA THOMAS,

Editor

MAC Lightful C + Coral Grass Foundation ($380 for 14g) “I love the coverage of this brightening powder foundation, it controls shine and oil without making you look crusty. You can only buy it in Asia too, so I guess I’m never leaving Hong Kong.”
