PACE YOURSELF With so many races cancelled this year, not only are running enthusiasts suffering, charities that rely on donations from these events are too. That’s why we were so excited to see Hong Kong-based fundraising management platform Fringebacker step in to launch the Fringebacker COVID-19 Hong Kong Virtual Marathon. Partnering with 35 local charities, the event lets you complete a running challenge (anywhere from a 3k fun run to a full marathon) at your own pace and wherever you wish to run any time between now and June 30. Runners are encouraged to log their progress, share on social media, and even support local business, with a goodie bag stuffed with cash coupons sent to all participants. You can even choose which charity you want to receive your race entry fee.

Full- and half- marathon $200; 10k and fun runs $120. Register and learn more at hkvirtualmarathon.com.

JUN 28-29

HIT THE TRAILS It might be roasting out there, but the weekend warriors continue to hit the trails, with the Pottinger @ Shek O trail run. Organised by TGR, runners can opt to run solo or in a team of up to five across a tricky trail that includes a rope climb section up Pottinger Peak. Pick a 15k, 7k or 4k run, all of which end at Shek O for a well-deserved post-race dip. The family race category is particularly popular for this run.
