Money and math are two concepts that kids should be taught early on and this product combines both of them into a bright, interactive toy! The award-winning Pretend & Play Calculator Cash Register encourages beginning math and calculator skills while providing lots of opportunities for imaginative play. And, the calculator is solar powered which means no battery trips to the store on Christmas morning! It even makes an adorable “cha-ching” sound when opened. (Ages 3+) Learningresources.com

A cash register would be missing something if we didn’t include an ATM! This is the perfect tool to teach your tots about credit/debit cards and show them that they aren’t magical pieces of plastic filled with endless amounts of money (someone add that to our wishlist!). This Pretend & Play Teaching ATM Bank features coin recognition, a mechanical bill feeder, and a pretend thumbprint sensor! Learningresources.com

For Big Kids (6-12): How cool would it be for your kids to play doctor for the day (and for you not to be the patient)? The two board games made our gift guide for their mix of fun and learning. In Dr. Microbe, kids race to grab the correct colorful microbes and place them into their petri dish to solve an incomplete challenge card! While Dr. Beaker features more of a logic race as players move molecules around the compartments of their beaker to try and match solutions on flipped challenge cards. For both games, you have to be quick on your feet and think like a scientist! Perfect for family night and holiday gatherings! (Ages 8+) Blueorangegames.com

If doctor games aren’t your kids’ thing, we’ve got you covered. The Tumble Tree and Dice Stack games are sure to keep you on the edge of your seats and entertained for hours. We love them because they’re small enough to take on family vacations and incorporate lots of learning which is always a plus in our book! The Tumble Tree is ideal for ages 6+ and The Dice Stack is recommended for ages 7+. Blueorangegames.com

We love reading here at Kidsguide and of course we couldn’t finish this list off without including some of our favorite holiday books this year! Our top two came down to A World of Cookies for Santa, which is a multicultural celebration of treats enjoyed all over the globe, and Hog Wild which encourages kids to sing and dance their little hearts out. Board games are definitely our thing this year, can you tell? We just adore them because they get the family together and reduce that dreaded screen time that can sometimes feel like it dominates our daily lives. These last two gifts made our guide because they are a blast to play and great for little ones just hitting the board-game world. Monkey Bingo is packed with cards featuring cheeky monkeys and mischievous primates and Flying Kiwis is a hilarious launching game where your goal is to get your fruit to paradise. Both are guaranteed to make for some serious smile overload! (Ages 6+)
